Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A SCIFI novel with a twist. This is Science Fiction about a space voyage to Alpha Centauri with a touch of reality. Alpha Centauri is the nearest solar system to our own. It has three suns and is located a mere 4.35 light years from earth. But how to get there! --Can you imagine the logistics involved in mounting a multiyear space mission, complete with the needed food resources? In building the technologies for such a voyage we have to bow to the physics of the universe. In that domain we cannot cheat. -- However, we also live in a second universe, the mental universe, the universe of ideas. Here a 'space' voyage is not bound to inherent limits, not even the limits imposed by distance. The concept of distance becomes unknown. This also applies socially, sexually, and romantically. In the novel both worlds become gradually combined. One of the two stands in metaphor in order that the two worlds can interact and enrich one another.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Flight Without Limits Large-Format Edition (Magazine Style) The novel is Science Fiction - a space journey with the freedom to move, to love, to choose, to live. Imagine, traveling in an instant to wherever you want to be! The universe is your playground. Thought becomes expression. This is science fiction indeed. But maybe mentally it shouldn't be. The novel is about a space voyage to Alpha Centauri, the nearest solar system to our own. It starts as a high tech voyage, and then becomes much more than that. It links up with a future that is moving backwards. It also comes upon a present that has no future, but for which a future is created that has no limits. Of course, being able to travel to wherever one may want to be has certain social advantages, and also challenges. Of course, politically, this capability has even greater challenges attached. Some people say that we will never have the capability, to go physically in an instant wherever we want to be. They might be right. But we do have that kind of capability mentally, in the world of science, romance, and spirituality, all of which are threaded through the novel. You may find that when you return, you have left some of the old limits behind. (http: //www.ice-age-ahead-iaa.ca

Book excerpt: ECPA BESTSELLER—Over one million copies sold! • What Would Your Life be Like if Anything Were Possible? Born without arms or legs, Nick Vujicic overcame his disabilities to live an independent, rich, fulfilling, and “ridiculously good” life while serving as a role model for anyone seeking true happiness. Now an internationally successful motivational speaker, Nick eagerly spreads his message: the most important goal is to find your life’s purpose and to never give up, despite whatever difficulties or seemingly impossible odds stand in your way. Nick tells the story of his physical disabilities and the emotional battle he endured while learning to deal with them as a child, teen, and young adult. “For the longest, loneliest time, I wondered if there was anyone on earth like me, and whether there was any purpose to my life other than pain and humiliation.” Nick shares how his faith in God has been his major source of strength, and he explains that once he found a sense of purpose—inspiring others to better their lives and the world around them--he found the confidence to build a rewarding and productive life without limits. Let Nick inspire you to start living your own life without limits. Nick offers practical advice for realizing a life of fulfillment and happiness by building trust in others, developing supportive relationships, and gaining strength for the journey. He encourages the reader by showing how he learned to accept what he could not control and focus instead on what he could. Includes a Life Without Limits Personal Action Plan to help anyone determine their unique path to a successful life.

Book excerpt: This report examines draft proposals from the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) to change the rules that govern how many hours a pilot can fly. The Transport Committee warns that working hours and conditions for pilots and cabin crew must be improved or safety could be at risk. Currently, the UK implements stricter flight time regulations than some other European countries, but under the new rules proposed by the European Aviation Safety Agency, the UK would not be able to have its own regime and the UK's current standards would be lowered. Fatigue is already an issue in aviation: 43% of pilots have reported falling asleep involuntarily at some point whilst on duty under the UK's current regulatory framework. The Committee recognises that flight time limitations are complex regulations, but the report highlights several issues where there is clear scope for improvement. The proposed 11 hour duty period at night for pilots flies in the face of scientific evidence and should be reduced to a 10 hour maximum. There is added concern that a pilot could land a plane after 22 hours awake. The Civil Aviation Authority must do more to monitor pilot hours so that long duty periods are the exception not the rule, and must address a culture of under-reporting of pilot fatigue. MPs accept that common European flight time limitations could improve aviation safety for UK passengers travelling on non-UK airlines. However, for these benefits to be realised the European standards must be uniformly high.

Book excerpt: It Doesn’t Take a Perfect Person to Find a Perfect Love Even though he was born without arms or legs, Nick Vujicic created a “ridiculously good life.” But after dating disappointments and a failed relationship, he reached his mid-twenties worried that he would never find a woman to love him and share his life. Then Nick met Kanae and everything changed. But even with undeniable chemistry, they would have to navigate twists and turns worthy of a romantic comedy before becoming "one" in marriage. In Love Without Limits Nick and Kanae tell how they improbably found each other, fell in love, and then fought to overcome skepticism from others about their relationship. Filled with practical insights that will benefit any couple, this inspiring book describes a godly courtship and the early years of the Vujicics’ marriage and parenting journey. Above all, Love Without Limits is an inspiring reminder that when Christ is at the center of a relationship--even with serious challenges--true love will triumph. *** “Despite my optimism about other parts of life, I decided that love in this world had limits after all. I’d become convinced that no woman would want to marry such an obviously imperfect man as me….” As a boy growing up in Australia, Nick Vujicic could not understand why God had allowed him to be born without limbs and if He would ever bring a woman into Nick’s life. On the other side of the world, Kanae Miyahara—a girl growing up in Mexico--saw dysfunction sadly separate her family. She wondered if a loving, lasting marriage was even possible. Later, when Nick realized that God had a purpose for him, his life took on new meaning. But after a long-term relationship ended in heartache, would he ever find someone to marry? Kanae experienced relationships based on superficial attraction, but she longed to find a mate with strong character and faith—a man who would be a godly husband and father. When Nick and Kanae met in the most amazing way, they realized that God—the ultimate Matchmaker-- had used even their discouraging and painful experiences to prepare them for each other…for the love of their life.

Every day, millions of people lament the loss of civility, respect, and hope, and they wonder if it's possible to cultivate a love big enough to overthrow hate and heal our hurts. With courage, authenticity, and relevance, Jacqueline A. Bussie proclaims, "Yes! It's possible!" and urges readers to widen love's wingspan and to love as God loves--without limits or exceptions. In Love Without Limits, Bussie imparts practical solutions for people of faith who yearn to love across division and difference in these troubled times. Through poignant personal memoir, engaging theological reflection, inspiring true stories of boundary-busting friendships, creative readings of scripture, and surprising shout-outs to some of love's unsung heroes, Bussie challenges readers to answer God's call to practice a love so deep, it subverts the social order; so radical, it scandalizes the powerful; so vast, it excludes no one. "A must-read for all Christians interested in inclusivity for their communities." --Publishers Weekly

The devastating news sent him tumbling to the depths of depression and alcoholism—Alex thought he’d lost it all! Riding a bike to the top of a volcano, Alex achieved a vision he’d never imagined possible. Standing on the summit, he discovered a new world of unlimited possibilities. World Without Limit is a story of inspiration and hope, a true-life’s journey from promising plans to unbounded misfortune and back to unlimited possibility. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: One of America’s preeminent philosophers “has produced a book with fascinating new insights into the ancient conception of nature” (Choice). Broaching an understanding of nature in Platonic thought, John Sallis goes beyond modern conceptions and provides a strategy to have recourse to the profound sense of nature operative in ancient Greek philosophy. In a rigorous and textually based account, Sallis traces the complex development of the Greek concept of nature. Beginning with the mythical vision embodied in the figure of the goddess Artemis, he reanimates the sense of nature that informs the fragmentary discourses of Anaximenes, Heraclitus, Parmenides, and Empedocles and shows how Plato takes up pre-Socratic conceptions critically while also being transformed. Through Sallis’s close reading of the Theaetetus and the Phaedo, he recovers the profound and comprehensive concept of nature in Plato’s thought.
