The author presents seven key rites from official temple records and ancient esoteric texts for personal or group use. This guidebook also: - presents rituals in a form designed to assist initiates in restoring the ancient rites of Egypt; - provides for modern usage, key ritual texts coming solely from authenticated ancient sources; - contains easy to follow commentaries and background information on each ritual, including symbolism and mythology not previously available in one book; - gives text with commentary for the “Opening of the Mouth” ceremony; - offers practical information for conducting these rituals in today’s world. Formerly only available to the scholar and professional Egyptologist, these ritual texts reveal the deeply spiritual understanding of humanity’s relationship to divinity that characterized the ancient Egyptian sense of the sacred. This is a practical intermediate level text for those wishing to worship the great deities of ancient Egypt in as authentic a manner as possible, and by so doing tap into the great spiritual heritage that sustained Egyptian culture for over three thousand years.

Book excerpt: In a part of Egypt so parched that decades might pass between rainstorms, amid a sea of sand, is a green island—Dakhleh, the “everlasting oasis”—that may contain the whole of human history. In this extraordinary book, an acclaimed science writer and journalist follows an international team of archaeologists as they unlock the secrets of nearly half a million years. Using high-tech methods, these scientists have made stunning finds, including indications that Dakhleh may have been the cradle of the Nile civilization that gave rise to the pharaohs and the pyramids. They have unearthed a perfect Old Kingdom town, with palaces and temples from the Golden Age, huge caches of mummies and papyri, and the world's two oldest books, and have located an entire Roman city—a Pompeii in the middle of the desert. Blending elements of adventure narrative, travelogue, and scientific mystery, Secrets of the Sands also traces on a grand historical scale the story of how humans have interacted with the changing environment, laying bare a parable with relevance to us all about the fragile balance between humankind and our world.

Book excerpt: Canadians leading an archaeological dig in Egypt’s Western Desert are at the forefront of an amazing scientific detective story as they uncover 400,000 years of human history and examine the fragile balance between humankind and our environment. Award-winning author and journalist Harry Thurston combines elements of adventure travelogue, scientific detective story, and environmental chronicle to offer a uniquely modern, ecological perspective on the story of humanity, entwining it with a fascinating portrait of Egypt from prehistory, through ancient times, to the present. Island of the Blessed follows the footsteps of a Canadian-led international team of archaeologists as they penetrate the Sahara to unlock the secrets of Egypt’s “everlasting oasis” -- Dakhleh. This fertile island in a sea of sand has been home to humans for almost half a million years. Archaeologists are using high-tech methods to decipher humankind’s prehistory and have unearthed a perfect Old Kingdom town, replete with palaces and temples from the Golden Age of ancient Egypt, a stunning cache of mummies, a Roman-era archive of 10,000 papyri, and the world’s two oldest books. As well, they are excavating an entire Roman city -- a “desert Pompeii” buried by the inexorable march of the Sahara. What we can learn from Dakhleh is nothing less than the whole history of our species and its ambivalent relationship with our planet. Island of the Blessed is that rare book about the past that sheds light upon the present day.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A novel of a down-and-out New England family that “seizes the reader on its opening page with . . . a knock-about country humor unmistakably its own” (Newsweek). There are families like the Beans all over America. They live on the wrong side of town in mobile homes strung with Christmas lights all year round. The women are often pregnant, the men drunk and just out of jail, and the children too numerous to count. In this novel that “pulses with kinetic energy,” we meet the God-fearing Earlene Pomerleau, and experience her obsession with the whole swarming Bean tribe (Newsweek). There is cousin Rubie, a boozer and a brawler; tall Aunt Roberta, the earth mother surrounded by countless clinging babies; and Beal, sensitive, often gentle, but doomed by the violence within him. In The Beans of Egypt, Maine, Carolyn Chute—whose jobs included waitress, chicken factory worker, and hospital floor scrubber before gaining renown as a prize-winning novelist—creates “a fictional world so vivid and compelling that one feels at a loss when it ends. The Beans belong with the Snopes clan of Faulkner’s Yoknapatawpha County, with Erskine Caldwell’s white Southerners, and with the rural blacks of Alice Walker’s The Color Purple” (San Jose Mercury News).

The unique feature of this series is that the verses quoted are from my own version of the Bible-the Gabriel Bible, with a few noted exceptions It is the first Bible to include the Creators actual name-Yehovah, as found about 50 times in the oldest known complete Hebrew Bible, the Leningrad codex. The lead chapter in the series is called Israel's Seven Apocalyptic Days. It explains how the seven annual Feast and Festival days (there is a difference) all have a strong End Time significance. Those seven days will be more relevant in the near future than in any time since Moses revealed them! That significance will all occur within the span of seven months during the year 6000 (4000 being the year Yeshua (Jesus) referenced in Luke 4:21, "Today this Scripture you just heard read has been fulfilled."

Book excerpt: "Amid a sea of sand, in a part of Egypt so parched that decades pass between rainstorms, a green island may contain the whole of human history. It is called Dakhleh, the "everlasting oasis", and it holds a rich trove of archaeological clues ... Over the course of a thirty-year dig, [an international team of archeologists] has discovered a perfect Old Kingdom town, with buildings ranging from palaces to common bakeries; the oldest monumental architecture in Egypt, even older than the pyramids; an archive of 10,000 papyri; huge caches of mummies, some still covered in ancient foil; an entire Roman city ... and the world's two oldest books, their pages of thin wood still bound together with age-old string. Perhaps most impressive of all is that these discoveries occurred in a single, magical place where it is possible to trace human habitation back more than 400,000 years-- before the advent of modern Homo sapiens."--Dust jacket flap.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Everlasting Gospels are the Holy Words spoken directly from God's mouth. The voice of The Heavenly Father transcends from His High throne to all mankind to adhere to. The Word, which created the world in the beginning, is now to recreate, reconstruct, and reform the entire world and humanity according to The Father's Will as it is done in heaven. The kingdoms of this world have become the Kingdom of our Lord and His Christ and this Working Document is the only Constitution of the New World. The contents of this Everlasting Gospel is a testimony to the fulfilment of the promise of Our Lord Jesus Christ, that the Comforter will come to teach all things, lead people to the accurate knowledge of the truth and inform of things to come (John 16: 7-14), which has in truth materialised. The Will of Our Heavenly Father is done on earth as it is done in heaven. John 16: 7-14 “Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you. And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: Of sin, because they believe not on me; Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more; Of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged. I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now. Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you.” His Coming was revealed to many prophets, both past, and present. Astrologers and scientists are aware of His Omnipotence, Omnipresence, and Omniscience. Some try to conceal or ignore the truth, while others are confused, disturbed, and without the capacity to comprehend. The purpose of this compilation is to reveal the Truth for the salvation of the entire world. The Holy Spirit is personified and His Everlasting Gospels, in this Divine Document, expatiates and shines greater light on many issues affecting our lives and environments physically, socially, and spiritually. The gospels provide answers to questions that have remained unanswered, challenge misconceived doctrines, corrects entrenched wrong believes, and reframes questions that were, hitherto, wrongly asked. The maxim which says that “a tree is known by its fruit' is germane to the Everlasting Gospel as the unparalleled wisdom in its contents affirm that God, the Quickening Spirit, is on earth directing all the affairs in the world, setting the captives free, and fulfilling His promises. God has answered the plea in the Lord's Prayer as nominated in the Holy Bible, i.e. " Thy Kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is done in heaven". That Kingdom has come. It is the Brotherhood of the Cross and Star, a Kingdom in reality and in practice with God Himself as the foundation and Head of the Monarchy. The government is theocratic and Love is the law. The Holy Spirit is warning everyone about the need to turn a new leaf and begin to love one another and all creation of God to escape the impending predicaments and calamities already befalling the world, and, especially, the final judgement of God. The Everlasting Gospel Volume 1 is a collection of some of the numerous Gospels and Bible Lectures delivered daily, and sometimes twice daily every day of the year, by the Holy Spirit personified in Leader Olumba Olumba Obu over a period spanning over forty years. The Gospels are delivered in the Efik dialect and interpreted into other languages, including English, by human interpreters. Interpreting Efik to English is a challenging task as Efik is a complex language with a lot of nuances and contexts. The priority of the interpreters is to, as much as possible, provide the English equivalents of the gospels being delivered and not try to contextualize or second guess the meaning.

Book excerpt: Using the original writings of two Egyptian Sufis, Muḥammad Wafāʼ and his son 'Alī, this book shows how the Islamic idea of sainthood developed in the medieval period. Although without a church to canonize its "saints," the Islamic tradition nevertheless debated and developed a variety of ideas concerning miracles, sanctity, saintly intermediaries, and pious role models. In the writings of the Wafāʼs, a complete mystical worldview unfolds, one with a distinct doctrine of sainthood and a novel understanding of the apocalypse. Using almost entirely unedited manuscript sources, author Richard J. A. McGregor shows in detail how Muḥammad and 'Alī Wafāʼ drew on earlier philosophical and gnostic currents to construct their own mystical theories and notes their debt to the Sufi order of the Shadhiliyya, the mystic al-Tirmidhī, and the great Sufi thinker Ibn ʿArabī. Notably, although located firmly within the Sunni tradition, the Wafāʼs felt free to draw on Shi'ite ideas for the construction of their own theory of the final great saint.
