Book excerpt: Formed from years of spiritual experience and training in diverse forms of therapy, Journey Towards Soul Consciousness taps into the existential and transcendent to delineate the road toward transformation. In this book, Raphael De Mohan builds upon the esoteric systems and previous books that were the life’s work of he and his husband, the late Elias De Mohan. In a market oversaturated with texts promising spiritual quick fixes, De Mohan takes readers headlong into the often long and difficult work required for deeper and lasting spiritual accomplishments. Building a bridge between spirituality, psychology, and esoteric philosophy, this book charts the process of development through subjects like: • Engaging with ego patterns and defense mechanisms • Exercises such as novel forms of meditation, grounding, and those using chakras, vibrations, sounds, and colors, including Elias De Mohan’s Twelve Ray Vibrational Sound and Color System • Offering an understanding of the impacts of past lives and karmic issues Unique and engaging, Journey Towards Soul Consciousness offers a path for spiritual seekers hoping to embark on a journey toward an evolved consciousness.

Book excerpt: Moltmann, "the foremost Protestant theologian in the world" (Church Times), brings his characteristic audacity to this traditional topic and cuts to the heart of the matter with a simple identification: What we experience every day as the spirit of life is the spirit of God. Such considerations give Moltmann's treatment of the different aspects of life in Spirit a verve and vitality that are concrete and existential. Veteran readers will find here a rich and subtle extension of Moltmann's trinitarian and christological works, even as he makes bold use of key insights from feminist and ecological theologies, from recent attention to embodiment, and from charismatic movements. Newcomers will find a fascinating entree into the heart of his work: the transformative potential of the future. Moltmann develops a theology of the Holy Spirit that links the Christian community's experience of the Spirit to the sanctification and liberation of life. He brilliantly displays the ecological and political significance of Christian belief in the Trinity.

Book excerpt: Started in 1958, Sanathana Sarathi is a monthly magazine devoted to Sathya (Truth), Dharma (Righteousness), Shanti (Peace) and Prema (Love) - the four cardinal principles of Bhagawan Baba's philosophy. It is published from Prasanthi Nilayam (the Abode of Highest Peace) and acts as a mouthpiece of Baba's Ashram as it speaks of the important events that take place in His sacred Abode, besides carrying Divine Messages conveyed through Divine Discourses of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba. The word meaning of Sanathana Sarathi is the 'Eternal Charioteer'. It signifies the presence of the Lord in every being as the atma guiding their lives like a charioteer. It implies that he who places his life, the body being likened to a chariot, in an attitude of surrender in the hands of the Lord, will be taken care of by the Lord even as a charioteer would take the occupant of his chariot safely to its destination. The magazine is an instrument to disseminate spiritual knowledge for the moral, physical and mental uplift of humanity without any discrimination as the subject matter discussed therein is always of common interest and of universal appeal. The fifteen Vahinis - streams of sacredness - known as the Vahini Series comprising annotation and interpretation of the Upanishads and other scriptures, Itihasas like the Ramayana, the Bhagavatha and the Mahabharata, and authentic explanations on Dhyana, Dharma, Prema, etc., have been serially published in this magazine as and when they emanated from the Divine pen of Bhagawan Baba. This magazine is published in almost all Indian languages, English and Telugu from Prasanthi Nilayam and others from respective regions. Every year Sanathana Sarathi comes out with a special issue in November commemorating the Divine Birthday. The English and Telugu magazines are posted on the 10th and 23rd respectively, of every month, from Prasanthi Nilayam. This magazine has wide, ever increasing circulation in India as well as abroad, as the study of it brings the reader closer to the philosophy of the Avatar in simple understandable language THUS SPAKE SAI... Discoursing during the launch of Sanathana Sarathi... From this day, our Sanathana Sarathi will lead to victory the cohorts of truth - the Vedas, the Sastras and similar scriptures of all faiths, against the forces of the ego such as injustice, falsehood, immorality and cruelty. This is the reason why it has emerged. This Sarathi will fight in order to establish world prosperity. It is bound to sound the paean of triumph when universal Ananda is achieved.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: How to work with the chakra centers to heal unresolved psychic wounds • Reveals how psychic injuries become lodged within the energy body • Links one major developmental stage with each major chakra • Provides a detailed guide to healing and clearing the tensions each chakra holds The chakra system identifies eight centers in the psycho-anatomy of humans, each one associated with a different part of the physical or energy body. Susan J. Wright, a practicing shaman and Gestalt psychotherapist, uses her own life journey to show that each chakra also is linked to a different stage of emotional and spiritual development. In The Chakras in Shamanic Practice, she identifies eight key developmental stages of life, from birth to old age/death. Each of these life stages has various developmental challenges and potential traumatic events that will likely occur and affect the health and well-being of the individual. Wright explains that life traumas experienced in particular developmental stages become lodged within the energy body as they cling to their corresponding chakra. By identifying and working with the chakra involved, a doorway can be opened to a world of transformative images, allowing powerful shamanic techniques to heal these psychic wounds. Providing both physical exercises and guided meditations that utilize the techniques of soul retrieval, working with power animals, and transcending trauma, Wright offers practitioners a way to gather and nurture the fragmented parts of their energy body and lead themselves to physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being.

Book excerpt: The most fundamental scientific fact is not the existence of the physical universe, but our awareness of that universe. Not even the most advanced physics, physiology or psychology, however, can explain even the most elementary qualities of our sensory awareness of that universe - qualities such as redness for example. Qualia used to be defined as sensory qualities such as colour and tone. But what if awareness is not an empty receptacle for sensory impressions, but has its own intrinsic sensual qualities - of the sort we experience as the inwardly sensed shape and substantiality of our bodies, the sensed lightness or darkness colour or tone of our moods, or a sensed feeling of warmth or coolness, closeness or distance to another human being? What if such sensual qualities of awareness are intrinsically meaningful - being the felt essence of meaning or sense? is not energetic quanta but qualia in this sense - sensed and sensual qualities of awareness - that are the basic stuff of which the universe is composed. It argues that qualia are not simply qualities of our own human awareness but fundamental units of awareness. Atoms, molecules and cells are recognised as the physical form taken by field-patterns of atomic, molecular and cellular awareness composed of such units. The soul is understood as an ever-changing gestalt of such units, each of which possess characteristics of both unit and field, particle and wave - allowing the soul-qualities of our own awareness to mix and merge with those of all other beings.

Peter Dreitzel explores a model of the contacting processes between human beings and their environments and presents a phenomenological exploration of the emotions guiding such contacts. The book makes an important contribution to our understanding of the role of psychotherapy in the modern world, especially in the context of change and crisis. Dreitzel sets out a new perspective of how we interact with each other, how we frame our encounters and differentiate them from one another, how we give them meaning, and how they are related to our needs and wants. This is followed by a unique phenomenological exploration of the emotions guiding such contacts, the first time the world of human feelings has been explored in depth and systematically analysed in Gestalt thought. These innovative explorations are framed first by a discussion of the historical development of Western conventions regarding everyday behaviour, and secondly by an examination of perspectives on climate change. Dreitzel analyses the mental and emotional states of potential clients as they are affected by these global processes and the book also includes an epilogue which evaluates how to work with climate anxiety. Dreitzel’s conception of social change, with Gestalt therapy at its core, is relevant to all aspects of humanistic psychology. It elevates empathy, emotional development and the prevention of suffering at all levels of society, filling important gaps in Gestalt therapy theory and expanding it into exciting new territory. Human Interaction and Emotional Awareness in Gestalt Therapy also contains an insightful foreword by Michael Vincent Miller, PhD, and will be essential reading for Gestalt therapists, other professionals with an interest in Gestalt approaches and readers interested in social interaction, climate change and the role of psychotherapy in a changing world.

Book excerpt: Not only a Reiki manual, Reiki Energetics includes principles, tools, and insights regarding a model of energetic healing. Reiki, translating to higher life energy, is a beautiful high frequency of natural energy that an individual may learn to use to facilitate his or her self-healing and personal growth. We may also use this elegant energy with others to assist with their health and wellness. The Reiki energy is simple to administer yet can have profound influences on ones health status. This book pulls together dynamics of energy systems, psychology, conscious awareness, and personal growth, creating a powerful and unique holistic approach to self-healing and wellness. In addition to self-healing tools, people taking classes with author John Kroneck learn how to work with clients to empower the clients to work with their own healing processes. Further, considering healing approaches used under the names of energy psychology and energy medicine, it is clear that energy healing can be used effectively with other healing modalities. Inclusive of Reiki Energetics, however, is the recognition that energy healing or healing energetics is its own field with specific skill sets and healing processes. This is a new approach to health care that acknowledges and empowers our role in our health-care experiences. The study of Reiki is a cornerstone in evolving this new field of healing energetics. Again, the Reiki approach is simple to administer. Yet, as with any work of significant spiritual significance, its depth and breadth of possibilities are without measure.

These virulent writings actively disturb our decisions and program us to act from fear. By limiting our ability to reason with judgment, we often make decisions on autopilot. Reading is the best food for the soul. It is particularly important to be selective with the type of information that we feed our mind, since physical health depends on the food you eat, your mental health is damaged if you submit it to toxic readings. This book gives you a diversity of topics which have been selected to nourish you. P.S: I love rice and beans!

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The central concept within the ebook “The Dynamics of Gender and Life” is the universe as a self-organizing system (SOS) wherein everything and everyone is engaged in an ongoing, dynamic, cyclical, interactive dance between unity and individuality, feminine and masculine, wave and particle, togetherness and separateness, Yin and Yang, possibility and actuality. The exploration of this interactive possibility-actuality, feminine-masculine dance yields valuable and useful insights into creativity, identity politics, personality structure, belief-systems, intuition, gender, spirituality, neuroplasticity, peak-states, health, well-being and more ... Some reviews "I liked (Stephen's) generalized summaries of what it all meant as I went along, e.g., 'We, and each part within creation, are. . . an active pivot-point, a door-way, an active, creative portal through which the creative potential and power of the quantum vacuum, the implicate order, the ground of being, flows and creates. We are the delivery vehicles and directors of where and how that energy is congealed into actuality.' Beautifully expressed. These occasional "boosts" in his explication keeps the reader in touch with the overall context of what he is saying and sustains an emotional connection with the content. All in all, a wonderful piece of work, which I earnestly hope will reach a vast multitude of readers." Book excerpt: A comprehensive approach to self-realization, psychosynthesis was developed between 1910 and the 1950s by the Italian psychiatrist Roberto Assagioli. Assagioli like Jung, diverged from Freud in order to develop an understanding of human nature that took account of spiritual dimensions. This book, originally published in 1987, is an exploration of psychosynthesis and the depth of mystical and scientific ideas behind it. It will be of great value to all those interested in personal integration and spiritual growth in general, and psychosynthesis in particular. Focusing on psychosynthesis as transpersonal psychology, Jean Hardy describes how the ideas behind psychosynthesis spring both from scientific study of the unconscious and from the long mystical tradition of both the Easter and Western world. She shows how the roots of a modern spiritual, or transpersonal, psychology lie in a split tradition within the Western world – while psychology aspires to be scientific, religion or mystical knowledge is currently studied within the discipline of theology. The two have up till now been very little related, and the special achievement of psychosynthesis as a therapy is that it relates the soul and theology to the personality and psychology, and perceives personal and developmental patterns as a microcosm of larger social and historical patterns.
