One of the more recent initiatives of ESO has been the institution of permanent study groups, also called task forces, where a limited number of leading experts are invited to meet once a year with the aim of defining the state of the art and possibly reaching a consensus on future developments in specific fields of on cology.

This report examines the clinical utility and uses of cBHT drug preparations and reviews the available evidence that would support marketing claims of the safety and effectiveness of cBHT preparations. As a result, primary care providers still commonly refer patients to endocrinology for something that can be initiated at a family practice clinic. The TransPocket educational guide created provides health care practitioners with an easy-to-use reference guide for both the initiation of transgender cross-sex hormone therapy as well as basic information that can be utilized during a patient encounter with a transgender patient. A prototype guide was evaluated by a panel of providers experienced in transgender care which was then revised into the final draft which was well-received by the panelists as a useful guide for primary care providers.
