His best friend is a little star named Twink. They live in a magical and wonderful place called the Land of Dreams, barely hidden between the space of sleep and Imagine-nation. Their beautiful home is made up of the hopes, dreams and wishes of all the children in the world. Unfortunately, because children aren't using their imagination much anymore, the Land of Dreams is slowly disappearing and it is up to the two friends to find a way to save it. Christine Garrett was born in England to a mother who was both an opera singer and Shakespearean actress. The family moved to the United States when the author was very young. Her deep love for the arts was formed during the many hours that she spent as a young child backstage watching her mother perform. Following in her mother's creative footsteps, she is both an artist and a writer, currently living in Big Bear Lake, California. Dream Bunny's Tales is the author's favorite work. From illustrations to original lullaby music to animation screenplay and toys, she has created all aspects of this whimsical project. Following its original debut in a local newspaper column in Lake Arrowhead, children regularly wrote in to ask Dream Bunny all kinds of questions, including how to get bubble gum out of their hair. Dream Bunny never failed to give the perfect answer. Imagine that!

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Reading "Barbie's Magical Adventure in Dreamland" takes people to magical worlds of thought and wonder. The story is about Barbie, a young girl with beautiful golden hair and bright blue eyes who stands out because she can go to Dreamland, a magical place that only lives in her dreams. Barbie goes on exciting adventures, meets strange creatures, and discovers beautiful landscapes in Dreamland every night under the stars. These dreams turn into her favorite secret, a beautiful world she loves. Dreamland's magic starts to fade away one day, leaving the once-bright colors dull and the magical creatures dull. Dreamland's guardian, Cygnus, calls on Barbie to protect this magical paradise. The magic of Dreamland comes from the three Dream Crystals that are lost. It is her job to find them. Barbie starts her trip with a purse full of stardust and an unknown map. She goes on a journey through the Whispering Woods, where the trees tell her secrets. To find the Dream Crystals that are hidden there, she has to answer puzzles. Barbie will have to show how brave and dedicated she is when she jumps into the Enchanted Lake to find the last crystal. She faces her biggest fears and gives the stones back to Cygnus, protecting Dreamland's magic and making sure it will live on. When Barbie goes back to her quiet small town, she grows into a kind and inspiring person. Kids and adults alike are inspired by her adventures in Dreamland and how she lives out these ideals to enjoy the beauty of dreams and grow the traits of bravery, kindness, and curiosity. At the end of the story, Barbie is still Dreamland's keeper. She watches over its wonders and makes sure that people will love them for many more years. She closes her eyes and dreams of Dreamland all the time because she knows that the fun things, she did there will always be a part of her. "Barbie's Magical Adventure in Dreamland" shows how powerful dreams, kindness, and bravery can be. It reminds us that the world is full of amazing things just waiting to be found by people who believe, and that the keys to amazing experiences and lasting memories are inside our hearts. Story Begins: Barbie was a little girl who lived in a cute little town. People knew her for having beautiful golden hair, bright blue eyes, and a kind heart. Barbie stood out among the simple homes and friendly neighbors in the town as a symbol of modesty and purity. Barbie had golden hair that fell down her back in waves that sparkled like a river of light. As the light caught on her and turned into a beautiful halo, she looked like a living, breathing sign of hope. Her bright blue eyes sparkled with interest, like two sapphires watching over the secrets of the world. But what made Barbie different from the other kids in town was her heart. She had a giving heart that touched everyone she met. She could make anyone feel special and better, even on the worst days, with her kind words and warm smile. It was Barbie's job to show that even in a world that seemed rude and rushed, good manners could still win. The one thing that made Barbie different, though, was something that not many people knew about her: she could go to Dreamland, a magical world that appeared only in her dreams. The hamlet would go to sleep every night, and Barbie's travels would begin. Dreamland was a place where dream rules did not apply. It stretched out in front of her like a beautiful tapestry in her thoughts. It was a world where the trees whispered secrets and the animals spoke in riddles and wisecracks. The sky was purple and turquoise. In Dreamland, Barbie can be anyone and go anywhere. It's a place where anything is possible and where the soul can find comfort. Her adventures at night were amazing. She would soar through the sky on a shiny dragon, feeling the rush of freedom in her blood as the wind pulled her hair back. She would have tea parties with rabbits that could talk. The rabbits' laughter would sound like a happy symphony in a field of brightly colored flowers. She liked to wander around in beautiful forests where streams sang lullabies to long-lost hopes and trees whispered stories of past adventures. Barbie, on the other hand, found the animals in Dreamland to be very interesting. There was Lumina, a pretty fairy whose wings sparkled like stars at dusk. She would teach Barbie about the night sky by telling her stories about constellations and the music that the stars played. Nimbus, a sneaky cloud fairy who can change shape at will, came next. Nimbus could change into a dolphin to explore the depths of the dream seas or a kite to take Barbie high above the clouds. Barbie and Nimbus would go on exciting adventures together. She made new friends every night, and each one was more creative than the last. She laughed with kind giants whose hearts were as big as the sky, danced with fire sprites whose bright flames lit up the night sky, and talked with wise old owls who taught her ancient secrets.

RABBIT AT HOME contains 24 stories and tales of Mr Rabbit, Blue Hen, Brother Wolf, Brother Lion, Mr. Thimblefinger, Chickamy Crany Crow, Sweet Susan, Woog and Weeze, Uncle Rain, Brother Drouth and so many more wonderfully enchanting characters woven together in a tapestry of America’s old South. There are also 25 full page pen-and-ink drawings by Oliver Herford sprinkled throughout which bring the stories to life. Some of the stories in this volume are: Where the Thunder lives How a King was Found The Magic Ring The Little Boy of the Lantern The King of the Clinkers How Brother Lion lost his Wool A Mountain of Gold The Rabbit and the Moon The Shoemaker who made but One Shoe The Woog and the Weeze The Fate of the Diddypawn, and more. Mr Rabbit At Home was written by Joel Chandler Harris in 1895, a full twelve years before he penned the tales of Uncle Remus and Brer Rabbit. It could be said, therefore, that Mr Rabbit at Home was the book which sparked the idea for the consequent Brer Rabbit character and books. Just as the Brer Rabbit books are entertaining, so is Mr Rabbit at Home. Don’t be surprised that when you finish reading one of the many wonderful stories from this book, that you feel a tug at your sleeve with a coy request of “’nuther pleaaaaase?” Joel Chandler Harris was born in Eatonton, Ga., on December 9, 1848. Deserted by his father at an early age, Harris dropped out of school and began working as a literary apprentice to help his mother make ends meet. Soon after, he was writing humorous pieces for several Georgia newspapers and in 1876, Harris joined the Staff of the Atlanta Constitution as an editor. Harris is best remembered for writing the Uncle Remus stories. Based on traditional African tales and folklore, the stories feature animal characters, such as Brer Rabbit and Brer Fox, who are endowed with human characteristics. Some of the Uncle Remus titles include Uncle Remus: His Songs and Sayings, Night with Uncle Remus, Uncle Remus and His Friends, and Uncle Remus and the Little Boy. After his death on July 3, 1908, Harris's home in Atlanta's West End was preserved as a museum called Wren's Nest. The museum got its name from a family of wrens that were found nesting in Harris's rickety old wooden mailbox. 10% of the profit from the sale of this book is donated to charities. ============== KEYWORDS/TAGS: Folklore, fairy tales, myths, legends, children’s stories, animal stories, fables, folk tales, children’s Chickamy Crany Crow, books, parents with children, parents to be, grandparents, grandparents to be, animals, apple, astonish, baker, barbecue, Bear, beautiful, black, Brindle, Brother, Buster, castle, Chickamy, children, Clinkers, coal-black, companions, Crany, Crow, Diddypawn, dream, Drouth, Drusilla, eleven, Eolen, family, feathers, fingers, Fox, friends, Golden, Hen, hogshead, honeycomb, husband, island, Johnny, journey, Jumping-Off, King, kingdom, love at first sight, lady, lantern, leather, Lion, Looking-glass, mirror, , Majesty, Meadows, merchants, message, Monkeys, Moon, moral, mountains, nineteen, officers, palace, , Prince, Princess, Queen, Rabbit, Rain, ribbon, robbers, shoemaker, silver, Smat, snow-white, Sparkle, Spry, Stuff, Susan, Sweetest, tavern-keeper, landlord, , Thimblefinger, Tickle-My-Toes, Tiger, Uncle, Aunt, , wax, Wise, Wolf, woods, Woog, worth

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In the Land of Dreamy Dreams, Ellen Gilchrist's acclaimed 1981 debut collection of short stories, introduced readers to a remarkable Southern voice which has sustained its power and influence through her more than 20 subsequent books. Gilchrist has a distinctive ear for language, and a deep understanding of her flawed, sometimes tragic characters. These fourteen stories, divided into three sections -- There's a Garden of Eden, Things Like the Truth, and Perils of the Nile -- are about mostly young, upper-class Southern women who are bored with the Junior League and having babies, and chafe against the restrictions of their sheltered lives. Talented and bright, but living in the shadow of men -- their husbands and fathers -- they resort to outrageous actions in pursuit of freer lives and uncompromised love, despite the consequences. This collection first introduced readers to some of Gilchrist's most beloved characters, such as Rhoda Manning and Nora Jane Whittington. PRAISE: "It's difficult to review a first book as good as this one without resorting to every known superlative cliché...Gilchrist is the real thing." —Washington Post “A sustained display of delicately and rhythmically modulated prose and an unsentimental dissection of raw sentiment. Her stories are perceptive, her manner is both stylish and idiomatic – a rare and potent combination.” —Times Literary Supplement “Witty, concise and wonderfully varied.” —Literary Review “Gilchrist possess a distinctive voice, and blends a sense of poignancy with an often outrageously Gothic humor.” —New York Times Book Review “Her prose is quick-witted and urbane and as gossipy as Vanity Fair. Quite simply there is no Southern writer quite like her.” —Raleigh News & Observer
