Dabei soll herausgefunden werden, inwieweit sich das Weltbild der Neuen Rechten mit den Vorstellungen Carl Schmitts über die Ausgestaltung eines Staates deckt. Dazu muss zunächst die Ideologie, welche Carl Schmitt vertrat, erläutert werden. Carl Schmitt war ein führender Staatsdenker des nationalsozialistischen Regimes in Deutschland. Seine Werke spiegeln sein Politikverständnis wider und werden deswegen auch dahingehend zur Betrachtung herangezogen. Darauffolgend soll die Ideologie der Neuen Rechten näher betrachtet werden. Dabei werden die Schlüsselworte Staat, Nation und Demokratie im neurechten Sinn definiert, sowie eine Betrachtung der vorherrschenden Idee des Ethnopluralismus vorgenommen. Dies wird abgerundet mit dem Politikverständnis der rechtspopulistischen Partei "Alternative für Deutschland". Auch Aussagen und Wertvorstellungen ihrer Mitglieder und einzelne Wahl- und Parteiprogramme werden in die Arbeit einfließen, um sie zuallererst der Neuen Rechten zuordnen zu können und dann auch ihre Ideologie mit der Schmitts zu vergleichen. Anschließend folgt der Vergleich der Ideologien, um sagen zu können, ob die Neuen Rechten und die Alternative für Deutschland der Ideologie Schmitts nahestehen. In Deutschland herrscht zurzeit große Aufregung um das Aufbegehren der Neuen Rechten. So kam es in der vergangenen Zeit zu mehr als einem rechtsextremistischen Überfall auf Andersdenkende. So wurde ein Feindbild der Neuen Rechten, Walter Lübcke, am 2. Juni 2019 in seinem Haus in der Nähe von Kassel erschossen. Am 22. Juli 2019 schoss ein Rechtsextremer auf einen Mann aus Eritrea, um ihn aus rassistischen Gründen zu ermorden. Jüngst wurde vom Bundesverfassungsschutz bekannt gegeben, dass die Identitäre Bewegung, eine der führenden neurechten Organisationen, von nun an verfassungsrechtlich beobachtet wird. Dazu gesellen sich die fremdenfeindlichen Ereignisse in Chemnitz rund um den Tod eines deutschen Staatsbürgers, der mutmaßlich von einem Asylbewerber ermordet wurde und die Messerattacke auf die Kölner Oberbürgermeisterin Henriette Reker. Diese Attacken gehen mit dem Erstarken der "Neuen Rechten" einher und ihrem Weltbild, welches sie vermitteln.

The authors of this collection seek to fill that gap in the ethnographic record by drawing attention to the deep historical attachments of island communities to rivers, and the ways in which those attachments are changing in response to various forms of economic development and social change. In addition to making a unique contribution to Pacific island ethnography, the authors of this volume speak to a global set of issues of immense importance to a world in which water scarcity, conflict, pollution and the degradation of riparian environments afflict growing numbers of people. Challenging many assumptions held by the Right, this book generated much debate when it was first published in French in 1998. Faye believes that the future of the Right requires a transcendence of the division between those who wish for a restoration of the traditions of the past, and those who are calling for new social and technological forms - creating a synthesis which will amplify the strengths and restrain the excesses of both: Archeofuturism. Faye also provides a critique of the New Right; an analysis of the continuing damage being done by Western liberalism, political inertia, unrestrained immigration and ethnic self-hatred; and the need to abandon past positions and dare to face the realities of the present in order to realise the ideology of the future. He prophesises a series of catastrophes between 2010 and 2020, brought about by the unsustainability of the present world order, which he asserts will offer an opportunity to rebuild the West and put Archeofuturism into practice on a grand scale. This book is a must-read for anyone concerned with the course that the Right must chart in order to deal with the increasing crises and challenges it will face in the coming decades. Guillaume Faye was one of the principal members of the famed French New Right organisation GRECE in the 1970s and '80s. After departing in 1986 due to his disagreement with its strategy, he had a successful career on French television and radio before returning to the stage of political philosophy as a powerful alternative voice with the publication of Archeofuturism. Since then he has continued to challenge the status quo within the Right in his writings, earning him both the admiration and disdain of his colleagues.
