Comings and published by Hope Press. This book was released on 2008 with total page 2 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Dr. David Comings, an internationally renowned physician, human geneticist and neuroscientist, proposes that spirituality is genetically hardwired into a specific part of the brain, is pleasurable, is critical to the evolution and survival of man, and will never go away. It strives to allow readers to develop a rational spirituality in which the fact-based rational brain and the faith-based spiritual brain can live in peace. In an era when politicians are judged on the basis of the strength of their belief in God, when schools are urged to teach Intelligent Design, and when religious terrorists threaten the existence of Western civilization it is critical to dispassionately examine the question - Did man create God? A wide range of issues are examined including intelligent answers to intelligent design; the relevance of modern cosmology to the existence or non-existence of god; the role of genes in spirituality; innate morality, the problem of evil, and many others. Michael Shermer called this the most detailed and up-to-date science ever generated on the subject of religion and suggested it will be the definitive scientific reference on religion for some time to come. This book is for those who have also questioned any part of their faith but treasure their spirituality and want answers that are not hostile to spirituality or religion.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The New York Times bestselling author of Darwin’s Doubt presents groundbreaking scientific evidence of the existence of God, based on breakthroughs in physics, cosmology, and biology. Beginning in the late 19th century, many intellectuals began to insist that scientific knowledge conflicts with traditional theistic belief—that science and belief in God are “at war.” Philosopher of science Stephen Meyer challenges this view by examining three scientific discoveries with decidedly theistic implications. Building on the case for the intelligent design of life that he developed in Signature in the Cell and Darwin’s Doubt, Meyer demonstrates how discoveries in cosmology and physics coupled with those in biology help to establish the identity of the designing intelligence behind life and the universe. Meyer argues that theism—with its affirmation of a transcendent, intelligent and active creator—best explains the evidence we have concerning biological and cosmological origins. Previously Meyer refrained from attempting to answer questions about “who” might have designed life. Now he provides an evidence-based answer to perhaps the ultimate mystery of the universe. In so doing, he reveals a stunning conclusion: the data support not just the existence of an intelligent designer of some kind—but the existence of a personal God.

Book excerpt: The author claims that the USA and all other nations must change the way people have been living. he need for this change was identified by the proof of God, a proof that the author found in 2005. This proof and related proofs led to the book The First Scientific Proof of God. Historically, the very first method of proving anything was sought in the early years of the 14th century and when Aristotle's science was challenged. This search for a proof was really a search for finding truths about God and the universe. This search was fruitful because it led to the Italian Renaissance, ended the backward Middle Ages, and started the modern world. Eventually, this proof was found and, by the 17th century, was named the scientific method.' However, the very first method of proof divided the fields of science and theology. This division emerged because the very first method of proof could not find truths about God. Thus, theologians were forced to find truths about God only by studying scriptures. Unfortunately, the scientific method' attracted nonphysical sciences such as psychology, medicine, politics, economy, etc. However, the author concluded that the very first method of proof cannot be used to find truths about God or life. So, the very first method of proof had to be improved if truths are to be found about God, life, and the universe. The author found the necessary improvements that had to be made to the very first method of proof. With these improvements, truths about God and life can be found. Interestingly, these improvements indicate that the universe is very different from suggestions of the physical scientists today. Thus, the author's proof of God opens the human mind to a scientific method that would unify God, life, and the universe. Furthermore, solutions to tough human problems such as crime, terrorism, peace, poverty, cancer, arbitrary governments, bipartisan politics, and religions differences will be found with the proof of God. In his book, the author discusses the past and future of man. He identifies man's past as a path to Hell. With the path to Hell, he is able to define man's path to Heaven. He identifies the ways that man can get on, and stay on, the path to Heaven. If mankind decides merely to extend the past into the future, as liberals propose, the author predicts that man's future life will be a life of wars, poverty, and mental degeneration. He thus shows that the only path to Heaven is a spiritual life supported by a physical infrastructure. The author continues to develop his ideas at http://georgeshollenberger.blogspot.com/

Book excerpt: God, The Intelligent Designer, Man, The Intelligent Design presents the detailed path that the author used to experience the personal revelation of the actual experience of his True Self as an eternal Spiritual Being in a temporary human form on Earth in a state of Oneness with God. He presents the logical and scientific approach to describe the flow of spirit through the human forms of the Stars of the Scriptures, the founders of the major religions of the world. The true purpose of the religions is to lead the people to the experience of God on this side of the grave. The Way is shown to experience the easy transition from the world of turmoil and chaos to the holy place within the individual where harmony and peace abide. The simple message of the religions of the world: Let the spirit of the Intelligent Designer that is coming to you flow through you individually in each moment for personal fulfillment as you experience the true nature of Man. As people express their True Nature, Man, male and female, made in the image and likeness of God, the Golden Age of Man will surely follow.

Book excerpt: National Book Award Finalist: “This man’s ideas may be the most influential, not to say controversial, of the second half of the twentieth century.”—Columbus Dispatch At the heart of this classic, seminal book is Julian Jaynes's still-controversial thesis that human consciousness did not begin far back in animal evolution but instead is a learned process that came about only three thousand years ago and is still developing. The implications of this revolutionary scientific paradigm extend into virtually every aspect of our psychology, our history and culture, our religion—and indeed our future. “Don’t be put off by the academic title of Julian Jaynes’s The Origin of Consciousness in the Breakdown of the Bicameral Mind. Its prose is always lucid and often lyrical…he unfolds his case with the utmost intellectual rigor.”—The New York Times “When Julian Jaynes . . . speculates that until late in the twentieth millennium BC men had no consciousness but were automatically obeying the voices of the gods, we are astounded but compelled to follow this remarkable thesis.”—John Updike, The New Yorker “He is as startling as Freud was in The Interpretation of Dreams, and Jaynes is equally as adept at forcing a new view of known human behavior.”—American Journal of Psychiatry

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is about God the Creator of all; from nothingness to beyond the Multiverse, from cosmic darkness to spiritual light, while surrounding all of His Creation with universal beauty. Godless scholars claim their discoveries as the engine of historic progress, but in truth it has been the Divine revelation of ideas that have propelled the evolution of Mankind. Often, we are discovering that the greatest of human genius has been wrong in their attempts to explain the physical basics of existence. Likewise, their vision of the natural world and the course of cultural/spiritual advancement have been flawed. Albert Einsteins theories were wrong. Even he admitted that his universal constant that attempted to describe the mechanics of Outer Space was a colossal miscalculation. The philosophies of the most noteworthy of Greek intellectuals, Aristotle, Socrates, and Plato, widely taught today in academia as the pathway to truth, have failed to anticipate the Mosaic, Moral Order and Gods personal relationship with each human soul. Nobel Prize winner Linus Pauling proposed a triple-helix for the DNA and he was proven wrong. Along with, the mathematical limitations posed by Isaac Newton and Rene Descartes. Galileos science, atomic theory, quantum physics, string theory, Darwins biology, Freuds account of the psyche, and many other intellectual gaffes made throughout the Eras have been proven erroneous and/or partial truths. Has the acquisition of knowledge been a continuous, rational phenomenon leading to truth? Or, will godless reasoning always be imperfect to grasp the Divine complexities of the cosmos? Why cant rational mathematics explain the irrational numbers, such as the Fibonacci series, the Golden Proportion, and the triangular ratios of sine, cosine, and hypotenuse? Has Gods wisdom been revealing to scholars the rudiments of His Creation throughout the Eras or have the godless, arrogant intellectuals been discovering the created fundamentals of the cosmos, as revealed through time by a Higher Power? Has the issuing of the Nobel Prize been sacrosanct or simply the rewarding of scientific mistakes and limitations via political/cultural correctness? Only God and the message of Jesus have perfectly survived to inspire the ideational and spiritual Ages.

Book excerpt: Evolution--or the broader topic of origins--has enormous relevance to how we understand the Christian faith and how we interpret Scripture. Four Views on Creation, Evolution, and Intelligent Design presents the current "state of the conversation" about origins among evangelicals representing four key positions: Young Earth Creationism - Ken Ham (Answers in Genesis) Old Earth (Progressive) Creationism - Hugh Ross (Reasons to Believe) Evolutionary Creation - Deborah B. Haarsma (BioLogos) Intelligent Design - Stephen C. Meyer (The Discovery Institute) The contributors offer their best defense of their position addressing questions such as: What is your position on origins - understood broadly to include the physical universe, life, and human beings in particular? What do you take to be the most persuasive arguments in defense of your position? How do you demarcate and correlate evidence about origins from current science and from divine revelation? What hinges on answering these questions correctly? This book allows each contributor to not only present the case for his or her view, but also to critique and respond to the critiques of the other contributors, allowing you to compare their beliefs in an open forum setting to see where they overlap and where they differ.

Book excerpt: A provocative and urgent essay collection that asks how we can live with hope in “an age of ecocide” Paul Kingsnorth was once an activist—an ardent environmentalist. He fought against rampant development and the depredations of a corporate world that seemed hell-bent on ignoring a looming climate crisis in its relentless pursuit of profit. But as the environmental movement began to focus on “sustainability” rather than the defense of wild places for their own sake and as global conditions worsened, he grew disenchanted with the movement that he once embraced. He gave up what he saw as the false hope that residents of the First World would ever make the kind of sacrifices that might avert the severe consequences of climate change. Full of grief and fury as well as passionate, lyrical evocations of nature and the wild, Confessions of a Recovering Environmentalist gathers the wave-making essays that have charted the change in Kingsnorth’s thinking. In them he articulates a new vision that he calls “dark ecology,” which stands firmly in opposition to the belief that technology can save us, and he argues for a renewed balance between the human and nonhuman worlds. This iconoclastic, fearless, and ultimately hopeful book, which includes the much-discussed “Uncivilization” manifesto, asks hard questions about how we’ve lived and how we should live.

Book excerpt: Jay Shetty, social media superstar and host of the #1 podcast On Purpose, distills the timeless wisdom he learned as a monk into practical steps anyone can take every day to live a less anxious, more meaningful life. When you think like a monk, you’ll understand: -How to overcome negativity -How to stop overthinking -Why comparison kills love -How to use your fear -Why you can’t find happiness by looking for it -How to learn from everyone you meet -Why you are not your thoughts -How to find your purpose -Why kindness is crucial to success -And much more... Shetty grew up in a family where you could become one of three things—a doctor, a lawyer, or a failure. His family was convinced he had chosen option three: instead of attending his college graduation ceremony, he headed to India to become a monk, to meditate every day for four to eight hours, and devote his life to helping others. After three years, one of his teachers told him that he would have more impact on the world if he left the monk’s path to share his experience and wisdom with others. Heavily in debt, and with no recognizable skills on his résumé, he moved back home in north London with his parents. Shetty reconnected with old school friends—many working for some of the world’s largest corporations—who were experiencing tremendous stress, pressure, and unhappiness, and they invited Shetty to coach them on well-being, purpose, and mindfulness. Since then, Shetty has become one of the world’s most popular influencers. In 2017, he was named in the Forbes magazine 30-under-30 for being a game-changer in the world of media. In 2018, he had the #1 video on Facebook with over 360 million views. His social media following totals over 38 million, he has produced over 400 viral videos which have amassed more than 8 billion views, and his podcast, On Purpose, is consistently ranked the world’s #1 Health and Wellness podcast. In this inspiring, empowering book, Shetty draws on his time as a monk to show us how we can clear the roadblocks to our potential and power. Combining ancient wisdom and his own rich experiences in the ashram, Think Like a Monk reveals how to overcome negative thoughts and habits, and access the calm and purpose that lie within all of us. He transforms abstract lessons into advice and exercises we can all apply to reduce stress, improve relationships, and give the gifts we find in ourselves to the world. Shetty proves that everyone can—and should—think like a monk.
