Se trata de una exposición completa y rigurosa del Derecho de defensa de la libre competencia vigente tanto en la UE, como en España tras la entrada en vigor de la Ley de Defensa de la Competencia de 2007 y el Reglamento de Defensa de la Competencia de 2008. El trabajo incluye el tratamiento de la prohibición y exención de conductas restrictivas (acuerdos colusorios y abuso de posición dominante), los actos desleales y el control de concentraciones y ayudas públicas, así como los órganos y los procedimientos de aplicación. Con su publicación se pretende proporcionar una exposición conjunta de toda la regulación comunitaria y española que pueda ser de utilidad como obra general para expertos juristas o funcionarios de la Administración. Pero, asimismo, se ha realizado con el objetivo de facilitar el acceso a esta materia, que en ocasiones resulta oscura al lector no especializado, a profesionales del Derecho (abogados, jueces, etc.) que no desarrollan habitualmente su actividad en éste ámbito, así como a estudiantes universitarios de grado o postgrado. Dada la importancia que la atención al caso concreto tiene en el análisis y valoración de las infracciones, y para proporcionar ejemplos significativos de los diferentes tipos de restricciones a la competencia y sus efectos sobre el mercado, la exposición de la regulación vigente desde la perspectiva teórica se acompaña de continuas referencias a su aplicación práctica en decisiones comunitarias, resoluciones españolas y sentencias. La obra incluye en un CD las normas comunitarias y españolas aplicables y otros textos de interés.
