What can we find in Christs fulfillment of their duties that we can apply to our own everyday lives?

Download or read book Prophet, Priest, and King written by Richard P. Belcher (Jr.) and published by . This book was released on 2016 with total page 206 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Although early church fathers recognized the different roles of Christ, John Calvin was the first to call attention to his distinct offices of Prophet, Priest, and King. Starting in Genesis, these offices recur time and again throughout the Bible. Viewed alongside Christ's humiliation and exultation, they give us a fully rounded understanding of His work, as well as insight into the ongoing work of the Church. In this biblical theology, Richard Belcher explores and defines the basic functions of prophets, priests, and kings through an analysis of key Old Testament texts before discussing the fulfillment of these offices in Christ and the transformation of these offices for the Church, its leaders, and individual believers. Includes study questions.

Book Synopsis THE PARABLES OF THE LORD JESUS CHRIST by : John Sandbek
Download or read book THE PARABLES OF THE LORD JESUS CHRIST written by John Sandbek and published by Christian Faith Publishing, Inc.. This book was released on 2018-06-12 with total page 546 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The parables of Jesus should not be studied as individual homilies or proverbs but instead as a series of prophetic installments, wherein each parable reveals an aspect of his coming millennial kingdom. The focus of all his parables was the kingdom and encompassed four areas of revelation. Jesus was sent by his Father to reveal to man eternal truths, to redeem the lost sheep of the house of Israel, to expound on the prophets and the Law, and to preach of the gospel of the Kingdom. With these four anointings, Jesus assumed the three offices of Prophet, Priest, and King and used parables to conceal his message from those who would not listen or sought to destroy his ministry. As Prophet, he foretold of events imminent to his time and the destruction of Jerusalem. He became our High Priest to redeem his people and instruct them in righteousness. As King, his parables reveal to us the grandeur of his coming kingdom, heretofore, kept secret from man and set the metrics for ruling and reigning with him. The Parables of the Lord Jesus Christ: Prophet, Priest, King examines Jesus's parabolic teaching from these three ordinations and how each relates to Christ's future kingdom. Each parable is placed in context with surrounding events and the customs of the day and its imagery and symbolism explained using Scripture to deduce and interpret its meaning.

This book was released on 2017-12-04 with total page 544 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book, written in simple English, is targeted at everyone that can readthe scholarly, not-so-scholarly, and inquisitive-minded, persons. It should whet the appetite of the inquisitive minded, causing them to conduct further researches into numerous other aspects of the person and work of Jesus Christ. The book considers the sinfulness of mankind from his fall through the coming of the Savior, noting that sin is not the exclusive reserve of any particular people but of the whole of mankind. And the salvation that the gracious, almighty God offers through Jesus Christ alone is also to not just a few, but all who believe in Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ is Prophet, Priest, and King. He is also Savior/Redeemer and Judge. He is Creator of the universe and the Mediator between God and man. There were prophets, but Jesus is the Son of God. There were priests and high priests who had to enter Gods presence in the holiest place with blood of an animal in their hands. But Jesus Christ is the Everlasting High Priest, who entered the presence of God with His own unblemished blood once for all and remains with God the Father in heaven, pleading our cause. There were/are kings also. But Jesus Christ is the King of kings and Lord of lords. There were, and are, judges. But Jesus Christ is the Righteous Judge that will on behalf of God the Father judge the living and the dead without favoritism or sentiments. He alone is the Savior and Redeemer of mankind. Jesus Christ shall soon return to set up his millennial kingdom on earth.
