Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: One woman recounts her journey from darkness along a path of self-reflection and determination to God, and the lessons she learned along the way. Shawntá Pulliam grew up in a neighborhood where crack cocaine and prostitution coexisted alongside a gospel-preaching old woman named Sister Lou. Shawntá saw the futility of life around her in the “hood,” yet knew deep inside she was born for something more—something great even. Still, she had a drug-addicted mother and a father behind bars. The pull of the streets and deep emotional wounding took their toll, and she easily fell in with a crowd hurtling headlong in the wrong direction. A nervous breakdown that led to her breakthrough revived Shawntá’s faith and stirred up the gifts God had planted in her long ago. Propelled by that faith, she watched as God opened door after door for her to walk through. Following her heart-cry, she eventually founded an organization called Nurturing Hearts for at-risk girls ages ten to eighteen. In Hell Bent, Heaven Bound, she reminds us all that God uses the things we like least about ourselves—and breathes purpose into them. Praise for Hell Bent, Heaven Bound “This book will serve as a demonstration and testimony of a life activated by God’s purpose and plan.” —Les Brown, world-renowned motivational speaker, trainer, and author “Hell Bent, Heaven Bound offers the reader a compass on the journey of faith, deliverance, healing, and destiny.” —Vickie Winans, award-winning gospel artist “Eloquent and honest.” —Debbi Dachinger, award-winning syndicated radio host, international bestselling author

Ever heard of someone hitting rock bottom before they finally have a come-to-Jesus moment? Well, Brian will be the first to admit he couldn't tell you which rock bottom finally did the trick! In this riveting account of his personal testimony, he tells the story of how he went from a life in ruins from the consequences of his addictions to sober, clean, and studying for the ministry, as well as inventor of several medical devices already beginning to change countless lives. The Lord Jesus is a God of restoration. He has the ability to create something from nothing, which is where Brian's life story goes to and comes back from: the very bottom. This book is for if you are or have been bound to drugs and alcohol and can't imagine a way out, or you know someone who has and would be encouraged by this powerful and encouraging story of redemption and radical transformation. "I wrote an intentionally short book because I wanted to make it a quick and easy read for as many people as possible. I know many have not gone as far into drugs and alcohol as I have while I also know many have and are currently stuck in their bondage. It's my prayer this book can be placed in their hands as an encouragement and a lifeline. If God can do it for me, He can do it for you as well!" - Brian Mohika

Book excerpt: A compassionate, shame-free guide for your darkest days “A one-of-a-kind book . . . to read for yourself or give to a struggling friend or loved one without the fear that depression and suicidal thoughts will be minimized, medicalized or over-spiritualized.”—Kay Warren, cofounder of Saddleback Church What happens when loving Jesus doesn’t cure you of depression, anxiety, or suicidal thoughts? You might be crushed by shame over your mental illness, only to be told by well-meaning Christians to “choose joy” and “pray more.” So you beg God to take away the pain, but nothing eases the ache inside. As darkness lingers and color drains from your world, you’re left wondering if God has abandoned you. You just want a way out. But there’s hope. In I Love Jesus, But I Want to Die, Sarah J. Robinson offers a healthy, practical, and shame-free guide for Christians struggling with mental illness. With unflinching honesty, Sarah shares her story of battling depression and fighting to stay alive despite toxic theology that made her afraid to seek help outside the church. Pairing her own story with scriptural insights, mental health research, and simple practices, Sarah helps you reconnect with the God who is present in our deepest anguish and discover that you are worth everything it takes to get better. Beautifully written and full of hard-won wisdom, I Love Jesus, But I Want to Die offers a path toward a rich, hope-filled life in Christ, even when healing doesn’t look like what you expect.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Transparency is one of the most effective tools we have that can help us heal. It can also help us understand ourselves better as well as other people. What would you do if you believed you only had months to live? How would you feel if your community was stolen from you? Could you survive living on the streets for any length of time? Can you imagine what it's like to try to find a job when you have felonies on your record? Are there any words to describe the heart of a mother as she watches her youngest child die? It’s taken my whole life to realize that the main person I’ve been battling against has been me. As such, my memoir delves into raw detail about my war with my myself. I open up about my crystal meth addiction and how I became a drug dealer in Houston, Tx. The pain of growing up in poverty under the hand of an abusive dad is put on display as well. The time I spent serving in the Air Force during Don’t Ask Don’t Tell and the promiscuity that went along with it is also divulged. I talk about how I received my HIV + diagnosis on a voicemail and my Hep B + diagnosis in the postal mail. My story gets more intense as I share about how I got 3 felonies, the time I spent in jail, and how I ended up homeless after S.W.A.T. kicked my door in. I talk about the biggest heartbreak in my life which happened when I was kicked out of a megachurch, that I had served with my whole soul for years, just because I am a member of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community and refused to accept the conversion therapy package they offered. So often people judge those who have been in similar situations. My hope is that my honesty can offer a glimpse into these issues from the inside, rather than from the outside looking in. I struggled with dividing my memoir into two separate books, but I felt it would be more impactful to tell everything all at once. My memoir is my testament and it’s the greatest form of outreach I have ever offered to the world. I hope that I can earn your trust and attention with the words I have written within these pages.

Book excerpt: Advanced Drug Delivery Systems in the Management of Cancer discusses recent developments in nanomedicine and nano-based drug delivery systems used in the treatment of cancers affecting the blood, lungs, brain, and kidneys. The research presented in this book includes international collaborations in the area of novel drug delivery for the treatment of cancer. Cancer therapy remains one of the greatest challenges in modern medicine, as successful treatment requires the elimination of malignant cells that are closely related to normal cells within the body. Advanced drug delivery systems are carriers for a wide range of pharmacotherapies used in many applications, including cancer treatment. The use of such carrier systems in cancer treatment is growing rapidly as they help overcome the limitations associated with conventional drug delivery systems. Some of the conventional limitations that these advanced drug delivery systems help overcome include nonspecific targeting, systemic toxicity, poor oral bioavailability, reduced efficacy, and low therapeutic index. This book begins with a brief introduction to cancer biology. This is followed by an overview of the current landscape in pharmacotherapy for the cancer management. The need for advanced drug delivery systems in oncology and cancer treatment is established, and the systems that can be used for several specific cancers are discussed. Several chapters of the book are devoted to discussing the latest technologies and advances in nanotechnology. These include practical solutions on how to design a more effective nanocarrier for the drugs used in cancer therapeutics. Each chapter is written with the goal of informing readers about the latest advancements in drug delivery system technologies while reinforcing understanding through various detailed tables, figures, and illustrations. Advanced Drug Delivery Systems in the Management of Cancer is a valuable resource for anyone working in the fields of cancer biology and drug delivery, whether in academia, research, or industry. The book will be especially useful for researchers in drug formulation and drug delivery as well as for biological and translational researchers working in the field of cancer. Presents an overview of the recent perspectives and challenges within the management and diagnosis of cancer Provides insights into how advanced drug delivery systems can effectively be used in the management of a wide range of cancers Includes up-to-date information on diagnostic methods and treatment strategies using controlled drug delivery systems

You will discover: What we should and should not eat to enjoy maximum physical health. How food is intimately connected to our spiritual well being. Why Latter-day Saints are succumbing to the same chronic diseases as the rest of the population, despite not smoking, drinking, or doing drugs. How the Word of Wisdom was designed specifically for our day. How you can receive the “hidden treasures” and other blessings promised in the Word of Wisdom. Why eating the foods God has ordained for our use is better not just for our bodies, but for the animals and for the earth. This book was released on 2014-03-12 with total page 162 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: There are numerous books written on prayer but this is the only one that focuses entirely on teaching the reader how to pray entirely for deliverance from crack cocaine, heroin, crystal meth, marijuana, alcohol and sexual sins that accompany drug addiction. The reason that our children, neighborhoods, and households are challenged with drug addiction and drug dealing is because society has wavered from “faithful and effectual fervent prayer” (Js.5:15-17) and now depend on doctors and professional counseling to restore and help the lost deal with the addictions and temptations that surrounds them. To make matters worse our jails and prisons are not overcrowded with addicts, drug dealers, murderers, thieves and robbers simply because of the crimes they commit, but mainly because those committing the crimes have not been educated, taught how to follow the example that Christ set for mankind in Luke 4:1-13 and pray for deliverance from their mindset, drugs and others challenges that cause them to sin against God's commandments. Yes, there are 13 step and other programs that suggest that struggling addicts refer to the name, “higher power”, but truth be told, “There's no other name except the name Jesus associated with the implement of prayer that will result in the deliverance and salvation of man!” (See Acts 16:18; 4:10,12). The Bible clearly tells us that “Christ defeated temptation, Satan by a means open to his humblest follower, THE INTELLIGENT USE OF THE WORD OF GOD”. (See Matt.4: 1, Scofield Study Bible footnotes).
