Book excerpt: Fans of Vampire Diaries and Twilight will be thirsting for this latest vampire addiction... My aunt has been kidnapped by vampires, and it’s up to me to save her. Only...I had no idea vampires existed. None. Nada. I’m more of a reader than a fighter, and even though I’d been wishing to escape my boring existence in the middle of nowhere, I’d give anything to have it back now if it meant my aunt was safe. Then there’s the vampire Sebastian, who seems slightly nicer than most of the bloodsuckers I’ve run into so far. Yes, he’s the hottest being I’ve ever come across, but there’s no way I can trust him. He swears he’s helping me get answers, but there’s more to his story. Now I’m a key pawn in a raging vampire war, and I need to pick the right ally. But my chances of surviving this war are slim at best, when the side I choose might be the one that wants me dead the most.
Download or read book Eternal Nuggets written by Mark Nyarko and published by Xlibris Corporation. This book was released on 2018-08-30 with total page 318 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: It is generally known that the spirit realm is the transcendent or absolute reality that actually gave birth to our temporal reality or what we know to be physical, material, temporary realm. Because our existence owes its source to the spiritual realm, the latter is actually what dictates events in our realm. It takes no effort to realize that not only is the bible an integrated message but also one that has its origins in another dimension of existence, beyond what we are accustomed to. Have you wondered how the Bible accurately describes scientific phenomena millennia before science arrived on the planet? How on earth did Moses know how the world was created when no man was on the scene at the beginning of creation? It does not take a genius to fathom that there has to be a supreme being, a God out there, who is the source and sustainer of all life. Like I said earlier on whether we are aware or not, life in this temporary material realm is influenced, even directed from another realm—the spiritual. That is why it is important that we understand this realm and cooperate with it to get it to work with and for us. Paul wrote in 2 Corinthians 4:18, “While we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal.” He is saying that our focus should be on the unseen, eternal realm, which is the real reality because that is permanent as opposed to this realm that is but a passing shadow. The need to focus on the things that don’t change becomes even more crucial because of the sheer amount and complexity of change that we have to contend with in our lives. Changes in technology, science, medicine, career, and the work place are so fast and complex that we need something strong enough to provide the necessary moorings to hold our lives in place and provide the necessary balance to our lives if we are not to be swept away by the change. Even though change is unsettling, disruptive, and can be scary, even good change, it brings opportunities and progress. So how do we maintain our sanity and embrace the necessary change? It is my conviction that we do this by turning to and focusing on the things that do not change. The things that do not change include God and his word; humans in our basic makeup and constitution; and our biological makeup and sexuality, family, society, relationships, parenting, etc. Of course, the way these may be defined may change over time, but the fact is that they are there. This is why it is important to access the right information from the source of this realm, the spirit realm, to influence and direct our lives in this realm because even though the way man has come to view certain things may have changed over time, the spirit realm is not subject to same change as this. This is the reason why it is important to know God’s truth on every issue of life and apply it accordingly. Now the Bible says that Jesus is the only legitimate door to the spirit realm. According to John 10:9–10, Jesus says, “I am the door. If anyone enters by me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture. The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.” He is the only authorized dealer mandated by God to take people into the Father’s presence and, hence, the only mediator between man and God. As you embrace the truths enshrined in this book, understand that you are calling on a power greater than yourself, from a source beyond this temporal realm to intervene in your life and that of your family. Make the truths enshrined in Eternal Nuggets your truths by incorporating them into your life and see the invisible but real hand of God move in your life to bring much needed blessing, peace, and contentment into every area of your life.

Book Synopsis The Doctrine of the Spirit-filled Church by : Francis Vlok
Download or read book The Doctrine of the Spirit-filled Church written by Francis Vlok and published by Elm Hill. This book was released on 2019-08-13 with total page 550 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Lord Jesus Christ declared . . . I will build My church: and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. (Matthew 16:18). Throughout the past two thousand years, the church has proclaimed a variety of methods for people to follow in Jesus’ steps. Yet, few have followed His instructions and built the church according to Christ’s teachings which were entrusted to the ministers in His church. The first church was rooted and grounded in the Apostles’ Doctrine (Acts 2:42) and as such the church was built on the sure foundation. Sadly, it has not always contended for the faith but designed and adopted methods that are not in accordance with Christ’s teachings. Now is the appropriate time for the church to return to the biblical structure and conform to tenets found in the Bible. This book contains all the tenets of the Apostles’ Doctrine in one volume. It expounds the deep truths within the Holy Writ and leads ministers to once again conform to the perfect will of God (Romans 12:1-2).
Book Synopsis Life-Study of Exodus by : Witness Lee
Download or read book Life-Study of Exodus written by Witness Lee and published by Living Stream Ministry. This book was released on 1987-12-01 with total page 1225 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In the Lord’s recovery during the past five hundred years the church’s knowledge of the Lord and His truth has been continually progressing. This monumental and classical work by Brother Witness Lee builds upon and is a further development of all that the Lord has revealed to His church in the past centuries. It is filled with the revelation concerning the processed Triune God, the living Christ, the life-giving Spirit, the experience of life, and the definition and practice of the church. In this set Brother Lee has kept three basic principles that should rule and govern every believer in their interpretation, development, and expounding of the truths contained in the Scriptures. The first principle is that of the Triune God dispensing Himself into His chosen and redeemed people; the second principle is that we should interpret, develop, and expound the truths contained in the Bible with Christ for the church; and the third governing principle is Christ, the Spirit, life, and the church. No other study or exposition of the New Testament conveys the life nourishment or ushers the reader into the divine revelation of God’s holy Word according to His New Testament economy as this one does.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Living in the World By: Theodore Ihejieto Living in the World is a book of love and life, called circle of positive energy and energy of sunlight. The book is a book of Planet Earth, because the living planet gave sunlight energy to the author of living in the world. The author is a human being who did not like the way human beings were suffering in the world and thought that he needed to do something in order to improve the standard of living in the world. Author Theodore Ihejieto was born into a Christian family who believed in God and trusted God to protect them from evil and death. Death killed the author’s father, which made him stop trusting God. Death killed the immediate junior brother of the author and made him declare war against God. The author read many religious books and discovered that human beings did not know God, because human beings did not have the intention to know God. Ihejieto wants to know God and succeeds in knowing God because God showed Himself to him when he started questioning the integrity of God. Living in the World is a healing book for human beings to absorb and chase death away, because living in the world destroys the fear of God and the devil of God in human beings.

Book Synopsis Commentary on the New Testament by : Robert H. Gundry
Download or read book Commentary on the New Testament written by Robert H. Gundry and published by Baker Books. This book was released on 2010-07-01 with total page 2399 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Verse-by-verse explanations with a literal translation Shouldn't a Bible commentary clarify what God's Word actually says? Going beyond questions of authorship, date, sources, and historicity, respected linguist and teacher Gundry offers a one-volume exposition of the New Testament that focuses on what is most useful for preaching, teaching, and individual study--what the biblical text really means. Providing interpretive observations in a "breezy" style that's easy to read and adaptable for oral use in pulpit or classroom presentations, Gundry directs his book to an evangelical audience. His crisp translation of the New Testament inserts various phrasings of passages in brackets, allowing for smooth transition from original text to alternative and contemporary readings. SAMPLE TEXT OF TRANSLATION JOHN'S PREDICTING A MORE POWERFUL BAPTIZER THAN HE (Mark 1:1-8) 1:1-3: The beginning of the gospel of Jesus Christ, God's Son, according as it's written in Isaiah the prophet, "Behold, I'm sending my messenger before your face [= ahead of you], who'll pave your way [= the road you'll travel], [the messenger who is] the voice of one crying out in the wilderness, 'Prepare the way of the Lord. Make his paths straight.'" Pastors, Sunday school teachers, small-group leaders, and laypeople will welcome Gundry's non-technical explanations and clarifications. And Bible students at all levels will appreciate his sparkling interpretations of the NT Scriptures. A trustworthy guide for anybody wanting to delve deeper into God's Word. SAMPLE TEXT OF COMMENTS "Gospel" means "good news." Jews would associate this good news with Isaiah 52:7. Non-Jews would think of the good news of an emperor's accession to power, birthday, visit to a city, military victory, or bringing of prosperity to the empire. But Mark's good news has to do with the salvation and victory brought by Jesus over evil in all its demonic and physical forms. "The gospel of Jesus Christ" therefore means "the gospel about Jesus Christ" and refers to a proclaimed message ("the voice of one crying out"), not a book (though because books like Mark's contain that proclaimed message, the term came to refer to those books in the capitalized form of "Gospels" to distinguish them from the message, kept uncapitalized as "gospel").
