Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Supernatural meets The Da Vinci Code in a fast-paced, kickass character driven novel chock-full of magic, mystery, and mayhem, written collaboratively by a team of some of the best writers working in fantasy. Magic is real . . . and hungry. Everything in the Bookburners’ lives falls into two categories: Before London and After London. Before London, things were strange, sure, but After London . . . “strange” doesn’t even begin to describe it. Magic is everywhere—and the Bookburners can only be in one place at a time. Having cut ties with the Vatican, the members of the former Team Three are a little at a loss. Their old roles don’t feel right anymore; their old job seems almost quaint, considering how much magic flourishes in plain sight. But with the return of an old enemy, they find a renewed purpose. And this time, they know that the only thing they can depend on in this world is each other. Fans of Supernatural, The X-Files, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and The Da Vinci Code will love this epic urban fantasy. Originally presented serially in 10 episodes, this edition contains all installments of Bookburners Season 4. This is a novel co-written by Max Gladstone, Brain Francis Slattery, Mur Lafferty, and Andrea Phillips. Praise for the Bookburners series: “Sheer enormous fun!” —Naomi Novik, author of the New York Times-bestselling Temeraire series "Bookburners is worth getting hooked on!" —Pop. Edit. Lit. blog “Recommended for those looking for a breezy, entertaining and exciting fantasy read.” —Booklist "As much fun as binge-watching a full season of a Showtime series." —Publishers Weekly “Highly recommended for urban fantasy fans (think: Cassandra Clare's City of Bones combined with the Indiana Jones movies).” —School Library Journal

Young Eddie Toma's passage through the truly ugly parts of this world is met, like an antidote, or perhaps a compensation, by his remarkable awareness of its beauty. This is a writer who understands youth, and how to tell a story." —Gil Adamson, winner of the Writers' Trust Fiction Prize for Ridgerunner Brian Isaac's powerful debut novel All the Quiet Places is the coming-of-age story of Eddie Toma, an Indigenous (Syilx) boy, told through the young narrator's wide-eyed observations of the world around him. It's 1956, and six-year-old Eddie Toma lives with his mother, Grace, and his little brother, Lewis, near the Salmon River on the far edge of the Okanagan Indian Reserve in the British Columbia Southern Interior. Grace, her friend Isabel, Isabel's husband Ray, and his nephew Gregory cross the border to work as summer farm labourers in Washington state. There Eddie is free to spend long days with Gregory exploring the farm: climbing a hill to watch the sunset and listening to the wind in the grass. The boys learn from Ray's funny and dark stories. But when tragedy strikes, Eddie returns home grief-stricken, confused, and lonely. Eddie's life is governed by the decisions of the adults around him. Grace is determined to have him learn the ways of the white world by sending him to school in the small community of Falkland. On Eddie"s first day of school, as he crosses the reserve boundary at the Salmon River bridge, he leaves behind his world. Grace challenges the Indian Agent and writes futile letters to Ottawa to protest the sparse resources in their community. His father returns to the family after years away only to bring chaos and instability. Isabel and Ray join them in an overcrowded house. Only in his grandmother's company does he find solace and true companionship. In his teens, Eddie's future seems more secure—he finds a job, and his long-time crush on his white neighbour Eva is finally reciprocated. But every time things look up, circumstances beyond his control crash down around him. The cumulative effects of guilt, grief, and despair threaten everything Eddie has ever known or loved. All the Quiet Places is the story of what can happen when every adult in a person's life has been affected by colonialism; it tells of the acute separation from culture that can occur even at home in a loved familiar landscape. Its narrative power relies on the unguarded, unsentimental witness provided by Eddie.

Nathan Farrugia is in a class by himself. You can’t help but enjoy this adventure." ★★★★★ "What an amazing series. Plenty of action, thrills, gut-wrenching pace, cool weapons/gadgets and well written story." ★★★★★ "Can I give this book 10 stars? It kept me on the edge of my seat from the first page to the last!" ★★★★★ "The Fifth Column series is a tour de force. This amazing series deserves a 5 star review." ★★★★★ "Really humorous, lots of action and the characters are so much fun. Loved it. Fast-paced, entertaining read." ★★★★★ "I picked up a copy of The Chimera Vector thinking it would be a standard adventure novel. I was wrong. From the sands of the Middle East to the streets of New York, Nathan Farrugia has taken the techno-action/spy novel pioneered by David Morrell and given it steroids." ★★★★★ "Farrugia weaves an amazing tale of power, deceit and double crosses. Espionage at its finest, intrigue that will tighten your gut and light every nerve on fire, The Chimera Vector goes far beyond science fiction and becomes a fast-paced mystery-thriller that defies early detection of where we are headed." ★★★★★ "This is going down as one of the best series I've read. And that's saying something. Filled with intense action with enough sci-fi and thriller to make me grin like I found the girl of my dreams." ★★★★★ "Loved it. High paced action thriller it definitely is. You think you know where it is going then the plot twists again. It really kept me turning the pages to see what was going to happen next." ★★★★★ "An excellent fast paced series that merges science, science fiction and adventure in one well written read that will make it impossible to put down." ★★★★★ "Oh. Wow. What a book. I found The Chimera Vector to be well written, thoroughly entertaining, and at times unbearably suspenseful. I was literally holding my breath." ★★★★★ "All the action that I really enjoyed in the first one and hoped would continue... the sequel blew that out of the ballpark. Amazing book, even better than the first, if that's possible! Love all the characters.” ★★★★★ “Be warned! This series is totally addictive. Don’t start this unless you’re ready for a wild action-packed ride." About the author Nathan M. Book excerpt: I was born and raised in St. Cloud, Minnesota, joining the U.S. Navy at the age of seventeen. It became my career of 26 years. This book continues the story of "Operation Market Time" rewritten and published as "Coastal Warfare Against the Viet Cong, Volume One, 1964-1966." Volume Two ended up as one-year 1967 due to the rapid expansion of the war and Operation Market Time. The next book in the series is "Coastal Warfare Against the Viet Cong, Volume Three, 1968. This completes the story of Operation Market Time because by the end of 1968, the Coastline was well secured, and it forced Ho Chi Minh to create and use the Ho Chi Minh trail and resulted in Game Warden forces moving upriver closer to the trails exit into South Vietnam. Market Time forces took over the combat zones vacated by Game Warden. This was a whole new type of warfare for PCF's, Riverine Warfare, not seen since the Civil War. This Author was assigned initially to Da Nang in June 1968 so some of this story was experienced by this author firsthand. The rest of the information comes from the COMNAVFORV monthly summaries which are declassified and now in Public Domain. This was a significant part of the war not covered very much in the United States media but very important to the success of the Vietnam War effort.

Book excerpt: Under assault and ill-equipped, Alkalurops has come apart since the loss of its communications grid and the inability of The Republic to reestablish it. But in a universe of powerful players, a leader has to grab power fast if she’s going to survive. . . . Grace O’Malley’s people are valiantly making a stand against Loren Hanson’s Roughriders, a band of mercenaries destroying everything in their path. Badly outnumbered, her forces need real BattleMechs operated by trained MechWarriors. And they’re not going to be easy to afford, especially since the plbig mine owners refuse to offer any funds for planetary defense. But Grace will not surrender her homeland, no matter what the price. Even though the ragtag locals are putting up a surprisingly good fight, Hanson remains confident he can defeat them. What he doesn’t count on is an opponent determined to write her planet’s history in the scorched wreckage of the battlefield. . . .
