Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Liberation to the African Mind: The Key to Black Salvation is a strong book written to the millions of African Americans who have had their history distorted by the Church and public schools. Because of these distortions Black people are estranged and alienated from their culture and the wisdom of their ancestors. The book challenges African Americans to begin to think for themselves especially in the realm of religion. It is a prophetic book with a revolutionary perspective. It is prophetic in that it points to the direction the Black Church must take to effectively address the spiritual needs of the Black community. It is revolutionary because it challenges the Church and believers to establish a new paradigm, an African Spiritual frame of reference. The Black Church must transform itself and take on a new view of the scriptures, doctrines and dogmas of Christendom. This book documents the fact that what Blacks have been given as Christianity is in reality stolen African mythology, cosmology and history that has been corrupted by Roman and Greek priest, philosophers and emperors. It is one of the most powerful challenges to Orthodox Christianity to date. The Truth will liberate you from their strong delusions. While there is indeed some positive and beneficial aspects to Church membership it is time for the Black Church to make its exodus from the Western religious way of faith in God to the African spiritual way of knowledge of God. Black Pastors and religious leaders must begin to teach that which will bring about the manifestation of the fullness of Christ. This is the charge given to all church leadership by the Bible they teach from. And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelist, some pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ, till we all come to the unity of the faith and the knowledge of the Son of God, to be a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ. Ephesians 4:11-13. There are far too many Babes in Christ in the Church. It is not the fault of the believers but a reflection of corrupted doctrines and false dogmas. In addition the unity of the Black Church must become a priority. Not one church or believer can say they have no need of the rest of the Body of Christ in good conscience. Yet unity in the Black Church is more a rhetorical than an actual reality. Imagine what could be done if the wealth of the Church was combined to establish a super fund. Unity must be at the top of the agenda for the Black Church and for the Black community. Lastly, though we have the proverbial church on every corner there is an undeniable spiritual crisis in the Black community. The Liberation of the African Mind: The Key to Black Salvation makes the Spiritual Resurrection of the Black man a valid goal and priority. It will challenge many long held beliefs and dogmas, however Christendom must be examined and that which is not of God must be abandoned. Not since Marcus Garvey, Fredrick Douglas and the Honorable Elijah Muhammad have Blacks questioned the validity or efficacy of Christianity. Mr. Muhammad made an attempt to make Blacks aware that Christianity was the religion of the people who had enslaved them. Every race worships God in a way that is peculiar to their culture. Since the days of captivity Blacks have worshiped the god of their conquerors and oppressors. Worshipping a White man as God is not only a form of idolatry but extremely detrimental to the Black Psyche.

Book excerpt: THE BOOK: Africa: The Origin of Life is a 10-year painstaking research on the Bibles story of mankinds cosmogony of which 7 out of the 10 years spent on the research were on full time basis. The Bible says that God created one man in the beginning and went ahead to describe the location of the habitation of the first man. Two important issues in the Bibles story were of great interest to the Author for which he set out to research. These were: ? If the Bible story were taken to be true, it then means that the multi-races and colors in humanity today only came to be years after the creation of the first man, which means that originally, humanity only had one race and color from that man to a certain point in its history. That being so, what was the original color of that man? In other words, was he a Caucasian, a Mongolian, a Negro or an Amerindian and when did the multi-races and colors of people that we have today come to be? ? The earth has gone through so many changes through earthquakes, landslides, tumults, ocean drifts and desert encroachments, and etc., over the years since the creation of the first man. Taking all these into consideration, is it still possible to establish the location of Eden where our first parents lived? In other words, was Eden in America, Europe, Asia, or Africa? And if we are able to establish the continent which Eden was located, is it not correct to say that the first man was a native of that continent? ? Africa is poor and backward today, what are the causes of Africas backwardness? Is there any hope for Africa, or has God forsaken Africa? These and more are the salient questions that this book has biblically, scientifically and historically found answers to. The book is highly explosive and revealing. It would cause so much ripples and likely going to change some of your Biblical beliefs.

Book excerpt: How would ordinary African Christians interpret the figure and book of Job--the quintessential biblical book on suffering--from contexts of extreme poverty, tropical disease, and rampant suffering? How do African Christians culturally understand issues of theodicy and the nature of evil? What role does the devil play in African Pentecostalism? How does the biblical lament empower faith and foster hope for people living with HIV/AIDS? In what way does a theology of (eschatological) hope inform the spirituality and prayers of ordinary African believers in the midst of suffering? Inside the Whirlwind offers insight on these fascinating questions. Based upon the perspectives of Fang Christians in Spanish-speaking Equatorial Guinea (Central Africa), the thematic and theological reflections on evil, suffering, and hope emerging from sermons and Bible studies on the book of Job offer a remarkable window to view the main theological issues shaping grassroots African Christianity in the twenty-first century.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Drawing on speeches, essays, sermons, reminiscences, and works of theological speculation from 1800 to 1950, Christopher Z. Hobson offers an in-depth study of prophetic traditions in African American religion. He shows how African American prophets shared a belief in a "God of the oppressed:" a God who tested the nation's ability to move toward justice and who showed favor toward struggles for equality. Hobson also provides insight into the conflict between the African American prophets who believed that the nation could one day be redeemed through struggle, and those who felt that its hypocrisy and malevolence lay too deep for redemption. Contrary to the prevalent view that black nationalism is the strongest African American justice tradition, Hobson argues that the reformative tradition in prophecy has been most important and constant in the struggle for equality, and has sparked a politics of prophetic integrationism spanning most of two centuries. Hobson shows too the special role of millennial teaching in sustaining hope for oppressed people and cross-fertilizing other prophecy traditions. The Mount of Vision concludes with an examination of the meaning of African American prohecy today, in the time of the first African American presidency, the semicentenary of the civil rights movement, and the sesquicentennial of the American Civil War: paradoxical moments in which our "post-racial" society is still pervaded by injustice, and prophecy is not fulfilled but endures as a challenge.

Book excerpt: This bookAfricas Backwardness, Misfortunes, and the Word of Godwas born out of serious burden God imposed on me immediately after I returned back to my village from America. I shaded tears and confronted God with many questions: Why are you partial against Africans? Why are other continents seem to be better than the African continent in all facets of human life except in evil acts? Why the unending scarcity of water, fuel, kerosine, and other mineral resources you gave to Africans, especially Nigeria? Why the unending electricity power failures? Why are all these second hand vehicles, used appliances, and materials in Africa? Why are all these bad roads in this part of the world? Why are the Easterners, Christian States, and the Jews of Nigeria marginalized in many aspect of Nigerian affairs? God, in his own way, lured me to research for the origin of blackman in the Bible. Thereafter, the Word of God arrested me, and the answers to the above queries surfaced plus many other divine revelations; hence today, I am an apostle of Jesus Christ preaching the Word of God. I owe unreserved apologies to God on behalf of Africans, Nigerians, and the Igbo ethnic group in particular hence the introduction of this book to the world. This book is an acid test for the Word of God, and a must read for inquisitive minds, all and sundries.

Book excerpt: In this, his premiere work, Cornel West challenges African Americans to consider the incorporation of Marxism into their theological perspectives, thereby adopting the mindset that it is class more so than race that renders one powerless in America. His work reflects political and cultural perspectives borne out of his own formative life experiences. Decades later, his arguments continue to capture the theological imagination of many and influence the critical engagement of generations of scholars. In this fortieth anniversary edition, West invites six prominent scholars—whose respective work are grounded in various aspects of black political, cultural, and theological thought—into dialogue with this work, each writing one chapter plus a foreword by Jonathan Lee Walton. Continuing and expanding on the revolutionary discourses that West introduced in the first published work, each new essay provides nuanced lens for thinking about movements of liberation in today's African American communities

Book excerpt: Why are all of the maps in the back of the Bible zoomed in so close that you can't tell that 99% of the stories take place in Africa and Arabia? Starting in Genesis, we are introduced to a utopian garden planted on the east of Eden. We are then told that one of the rivers of Eden flows through Ethiopia, and yet many of us often overlook this fact. By the time we reach Genesis 10, we learn that Nimrod, a Cushite from Africa, founded Babel to become the very first world leader. It is from within this Cushite empire that Abraham is called to be a great nation. When we consider that many of the patriarchs took African women as wives, it becomes clear that mainstream Christianity is not giving us the complete story. Abraham, Esau, Joseph, Judah, Moses, David, Solomon, and many others all had wives of African descent, and yet the narrative of a white Israel spending 400 years as slaves in the African heat, still prevails in our society. This journey into scripture promises to be one of the most eye opening adventures you’ve ever embarked on, and it is guaranteed to change your entire perception of history and scripture in general.

Book excerpt: I n Africa: The Glory, the Curse, the Remedy; the author Anthony Agbo in a spectacular and inspirational detail researched the bible and rare ancient authorities to establish that God through the mouths of His Prophets, pronounced broad and far reaching curses on Africa and Africans, the result of which put the continent and her people in the negative side of all indices of human fortune, growth and development. Tracing the African family tree from the patriarch Noah through her phenomenal rise and greatness in ancient time, to her sudden downfall, the author in an amazing inspirational treatise, woven with extra-ordinary suspense unveiled: the character and activities of the enigmatic biblical figure, Nimrod, the great African and first world ruler, who built the Tower of Babel, openly confronted the God of Heaven and originated Idolatry, the worship of the "gods of wood and stone" thereby leading Africans astray; the identity and pioneering works of Tehuti, the great African who laid the foundation for all academic knowledge on earth, and who the ancient Greeks referred to as the "master of all masters" and the "greatest of all greats"; the journey of the biblical Ark of the covenant in the ancient time from Jerusalem to Ethiopia where it resides today; why and how God cursed Africa and how this curse has impacted on the lives and endeavors of the black race; what is it that can return Africa to future world dominion; etc. This is a book of extraordinary revelations about Africa and God, her glory and curse-propelled downfall as well as remedial prescriptions.

Book excerpt: Violence against ethnic minorities is a recurring theme in human history. The God of the Bible, however, is a God of the marginalized, the powerless, and the overlooked. To be a minority is to inhabit the heart of God’s story not its fringes. In this book, Dr. Sunday Bobai Agang addresses the discrimination, oppression, and violence facing minorities in Africa and the church’s calling to stand against such injustice. Drawing upon covenantal theology and the biblical motif of a remnant, Agang explores God’s heart for those commonly devalued, silenced, excluded, and ignored. While our human societies are obsessed with power and might, God’s economy is one where the first are last and the weak confound the strong. This book is a powerful reminder of the source of true identity and the foundation for lasting peace and human flourishing.
