Download or read book A Spanish Cookbook a la Mediterranea written by Maria del Carmen Asquerino-Frey and published by . This book was released on 2002-03 with total page 204 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: I have spent the last twelve years acquiring from my family, and friends, the unique bits and pieces that are additive to foods that I grew up with. Tasty soups. Delicious seafood. Mouth watering dishes with meat or fish cooked according to age-old recipes. Many of the recipes contained in this book have been in my family for several generations. This project was started as an effort to document my family's style of home cooking and to share it with my four American daughter-in-laws. It was hoped that they would then share some of it with my grandchildren. Along the way, others heard of this endeavor and encouraged me to share my recipes with them. Because of all the recent emphasis on Mediterranean foods, I have now become convinced that this effort might have an even broader audience. The writing of this book has been a international family effort. From Spain, my mother, aunts and cousins contributed. Here in America, my husband translated the recipes from Spanish to English. My daughter-in-laws helped convert the recipes into their nutritional constituents, and my mother-in-law edited the book. While the dishes are unique, they are still very Mediterranean in substance and are very much a part of the Mediterranean Food Pyramid. Along with capturing the essence of these colorful and resilient dishes, we have tried to approximate the food values each of these recipes embodies. I hope that this book will help enlighten you about Mediterranean cooking, particularly the recipes with a Spanish accent, and help cultivate an appetite for Spain that extends beyond its foods.

Your Customers Will Never Stop to Read and Read Again this Awesome Book! The Mediterranean diet is one of the best-studied recently, and much is known about its history. Scientists created it in the 1960s on the basis of traditional healthy nutrition of the inhabitants of the Mediterranean, whose life expectancy was very high, and the number of chronic diseases was small, despite the lack of quality medical services. In 1993, several organizations presented a classic version of the Mediterranean diet, as well as its graphic representation in the form of a food pyramid. This food pyramid underwent changes until 2008. At the last stage, herbs and spices were added to the diet, and the amount of fish and seafood was also reduced. In this diet, the emphasis is on the use of plant foods: fruits, vegetables, nuts, legumes, and whole grains. It is also encouraged to replace butter and animal fats with olive oil, and salts with spices and herbs. Red meat should be eaten no more than several times a month, and the main sources of protein are fish and poultry. If desired, you can drink a small amount of red wine (1-2 glasses per day). The daily menu includes: - fruit, - vegetables - greens, - whole wheat bread, - whole grain pasta, - porridge - bean - nuts - seeds, - olive oil. 3-5 times a week, you can additionally eat - fish - seafood, - poultry meat, - eggs - cheese - dairy. No more than once a week are permissible - sweets, - red meat. Regular physical activity is no less important than nutrition and is one of the key principles of the Mediterranean Diet Who is suitable for the Mediterranean diet? This diet is suitable for people who do not want to complicate their diet too much because it has no strict restrictions. Attention is drawn to those who are uncomfortable with strict rules, who are used to relying more on the quality of food than on counting calories and nutrients. Health-conscious people can follow this diet to reduce the risk of chronic illness. There is scientific evidence that the Mediterranean diet has a positive effect on weight loss and cardiovascular health. Ease of compliance Following the Mediterranean diet is fairly easy, as it lacks clear guidelines on calorie content and nutrient content. There is also no need to exclude any foods from the diet. By reducing the number of certain foods in the diet, such as red meat and butter, we do not completely abandon them. There are no clear recommendations on the number of meals per day, and when and what to eat. Therefore, such a diet fits well in any daily routine. In addition, there are no stages in the Mediterranean diet described by the scientific literature. In this book I will discuss the following topics: - What Is Mediterranean Diet? - What to Eat and What to Avoid - The Mediterranean Food Pyramid - Breakfast Recipes - Pasta and Pizza Recipes - Vegetable Recipes - And many more recipes! Book excerpt: Are you looking for a French and Spanish cookbook? In this 2 books in 1 edition, you will find over 150 recipes for traditional and modern easy French and Spanish dishes. In the first book, French Home Cooking, you will learn traditional and modern French recipes. Paris. Croissant. The most delicious pastry. Fancy food. Michelin started restaurants. French Riviera and Normandy shores. All this and a lot more is France. The history of French cuisine goes way back in the centuries and it is told that the first professional cooks - chef, nowadays - have been started to work 700 years ago, for the Kings of France and their court. The French cuisine is rich and gorgeous. The territory is generous and the country has always been relatively prosperous, therefore the ingredients have always been expensive and not second cuts. While Italian cuisine is historically based on poor dishes made of leftovers and less fancy meat and fish cuts, French cooking rhymes with fancy ingredients like fois gras, scallops, oysters and escargot. Also famous for its pastry, the French desserts are gorgeous, enriched sweet fillings and served from breakfast to dinner as one of the very best assets of the country. In French Home Cooking by Adele Tyler you will learn: History of French food and its evolution Over 80 recipes from the most authentic French cuisine How to cook French dishes at home French pastry cookbook for homemade croissant, baguette and bread with chocolate If you want to cook French dishes at home to impress family and friends, this cookbook is for you! In the second book, Tapas Cookbook, you will learn how to cook delicious recipes from Spanish tradition. A tapa is a small Spanish dish that despite might look like an appetizer is more a different way of having a meal. Tapas are often combined creating a whole meal, especially over dinner and they are appreciated for the variety of the ingredients. Tapas are indeed a joyful way to eat, trying different recipes, tastes and types of food during the same night and that's the reason why a lot of tapas bar opened all around the world. Originally, though, they came to life because Spaniard people usually have dinner server around 10pm, resulting in a long gap between the end of work-day and dinner time. Tapas were invented by bar and pubs, serving small food not enough to spoil the dinner but strong enough to support beer, wine or drinks. Ingredients vary from fish and seafood to vegetables, to jamon - Spanish traditional ham - to anchovies and sardines. They can be easily prepared in your own kitchen because ingredients can be found at the local supermarket, while preparations tend to be quick. In Tapas Cookbook by Adele Tyler you will learn: How to prepare tapas at home Over 80 recipes for fish, meat and vegetarian tapas Traditional Spanish recipes cookbook History of tapas and Spanish food If you want to try something different and impress family and friends, this cookbook is for you!
