Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: These poems have been written for the souls of the people that are looking to ask if God is alive. Read this book and ask your self this question, "Where is my soul going to spend eternity." If you say that you do not have a soul, then you are deceiving yourself. If you deceive yourself and people follow, you then you will be leading them astray. All I am trying to say is that this poem book will help lift the soul, maybe bring a little hope or a smile to the heart that is hurting. When the body does not feel good, we ask for some type of medicine. When the soul is not feeling well, it needs to be lifted up. We need to start with prayer and read the word of God first. That is the true food of our being, poetry is from the heart. I have found everybody has something to say to everybody! This book is what I have to say about Jesus (GOD) in my life. Back to the question: "Were is your soul going to spend eternity, with God or without God?" Confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God has raised Jesus from the dead and you will be saved. God Bless! Amen!

Book excerpt: A fresh look at the earliest Christian movement reveals what made the new faith so compelling...and what we need to change today to make it so again. Once upon a time there was a version of the Christian faith that was practically irresistible. After all, what could be more so than the gospel that Jesus ushered in? Why, then, isn't it the same with Christianity today? Author and pastor Andy Stanley is deeply concerned with the present-day church and its future. He believes that many of the solutions to our issues can be found by investigating our roots. In Irresistible, Andy chronicles what made the early Jesus Movement so compelling, resilient, and irresistible by answering these questions: What did first-century Christians know that we don't—about God's Word, about their lives, about love? What did they do that we're not doing? What makes Christianity so resistible in today's culture? What needs to change in order to repeat the growth our faith had at its beginning? Many people who leave or disparage the faith cite reasons that have less to do with Jesus than with the conduct of his followers. It's time to hit pause and consider the faith modeled by our first-century brothers and sisters who had no official Bible, no status, and little chance of survival. It's time to embrace the version of faith that initiated—against all human odds—a chain of events resulting in the most significant and extensive cultural transformation the world has ever seen. This is a version of Christianity we must remember and re-embrace if we want to be salt and light in an increasingly savorless and dark world.

Book excerpt: As pastor of a small country church, husband to the Gracious Mistress of the Parsonage, father to three, grandfather to nine, and great-grandfather to one, I take great delight in finding the funny side of any situation. My wife doesn’t always delight in my sense of humor, however. (I think she doesn’t understand it, but I won’t say that aloud.) Then again, we have enjoyed more than forty-five years of wedded bliss, so she has obviously found a way to abide my idea of comedy. “For a long time I was under the impression that my wife was giving me compliments. It takes a husband a long time to understand his wife, and by the time he understands her, she has morphed into the next level of womanhood. The man who thinks he knows his wife needs a psychiatrist, preferably a woman psychiatrist.”

A story or saying that made you stop and appreciate all you have? Scripture tells us that a merry heart does just as much good for as medicine does. Just like anything else that is good for us, we need to find joy and laughter in our everyday lives. No doubt, the world is often a serious place with problems, difficulties, and plenty of reasons to live depressed, sullen, unhappy, and despondent. But Jesus tells us in John 16:33, "Be of good cheer; I have overcome the world." We have the great promise of what Jesus did for us, and of the promise of all that life has to hold for believers and of heaven to come. No matter what happens, we can always find something to smile about, everyday! This beautiful little book is filled with stories, excerpts, jokes, sayings, songs, and other things grounded in everyday life thought and experience, here to help you get through the difficulties of everyday existence with a smile, and most importantly, the bright hope that Jesus has overcome the world!

Book excerpt: Born the son of a clergyman on October 18, 1662, Matthew Henry was ordained into the British Presbyterian Church where he held the pastorate in Chester from 1687 to 1712. He was widowed, married again and had 10 children, three whom died in infancy. Henry died in 1714. Henry began work on his commentary as "Notes On The New Testament" in 1704 and the monumental work was completed shortly before his death in 1714. Remembered as a caring pastor, a passionate lover of the Word of God, and a man of great personal integrity, Matthew Henry has left his mark on the hearts of countless Christians who seek a deeper understanding of the riches that Scripture contains. This edition of Matthew Henry's Commentary on the Whole Bible uses the King James text and is abridged from the original six volumes while faithfully retaining all of the vibrant themes of that classic work. Everything here is in Matthew Henry's own words and nothing relevant to today's reader has been omitted.

Book excerpt: I was not in the nursing profession very long before recognizing the "miracle" of the human body. In fact, I remember while in nursing school, just sitting in awe as we learned all about the body systems and how they interact with each other! It was while I was in LPN school that the Lord showed me the parallel of His blood to our blood. You can read about it in the devotion "Life is in the Blood". In this little book I have taken a nursing concept and applied a biblical principle resulting in a daily devotional for 31 days. It is intended to bring encouragement and inspiration to nurses as well as other healthcare professionals. All the devotions have an individual title and scripture reference. Also, at the end of the daily devotion there is a special prayer I have prayed for the reader. My goal is that for all caregivers who read this little book of devotions to be assured that the Lord is here to help them in whatever need they may have. He is a personal God who knows and cares for us individually! Secondly, my goal is to help all caregivers to see how important they are to the service of the Lord. It is through our hands and words that He often ministers to His people who are sick. The reader will also get a special treat with two poems written by Belinda Looney. While reading "Expectations" one will identify very quickly with the early (and comical) expectations of a fresh nursing graduate! "A Nurse's Prayer" is a poem expressing how many of us feel about nursing but are unable to convey as beautifully as Belinda has.
