As she processed the experiences that made her who she is and ultimately led her down a different path, Tien felt called to guide others to move away from a volatile cancel culture, disrupt the model minority myth, and build a new community culture. Her healing path lead her to call onto her ancestors for strength and guidance, especially the Vietnamese women of her ancestry. In a candid story of self-discovery, Tien shares insight into what it is like to navigate through the unsettling feelings of not belonging to a country while facing discrimination, hate, expectations, violence, biases, assimilation, and erasure as a first generation Vietnamese woman living in the United States of America. As she leads others through her recollections, Tien reveals how she was able to accept and name her experiences, and then create a spacer to reduce her caretaking role for those who abused and oppressed her and allow her to become her real self. A Blossom in Bloom is the memoir of a first generation Vietnamese American woman determined to heal from erasure, assimilation, hate, and the model minority myth and help others be seen and know they are not alone.

After all the hardships and headaches this small town gave me, I want to linger past the end of the year. New friendships at work help. Having my privacy and solitude heals me. When my ex shows up, proving that I can run but not hide, all the careful peace I'm letting into my life is shattered. I won't be able to move on with him watching me. I can't even breathe with him near. If my landlord didn't stand up for me, I would be halfway back to the city, dragged back to that horrible man by now. I'm grateful Roarke intervened, but asking him to butt out of my life doesn't seem to stick. Because it's becoming a lie. I want him right here, with me. If only I could convince myself that it will last. Roarke I know when to back down. I'm not aggressive by nature. Yet, the second I see her scared and locked in panic, nothing will stop me from defending her. No one will talk me out of facing the arrogant stranger who insists that she is his. I want Heather to be mine. To fit with me. I thought I was done with women, with their drama, but it's not so easy walking away from this sexy, troubled woman with too many secrets. I won't push. I'll be patient and approach at her pace. It's bliss when we cave. Our surrender is too raw and real to consider that we couldn't belong together. But her past isn't staying behind her. When something new, something different threatens her, I'm at a loss for what to believe. How can she seem so right for me when fate is determined to yank us apart? This book was released on 2022-04-26 with total page 688 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This is my 16th book in a series of books under the heading of “Christianity and the Human Brain”. It is about my continuing love to our lord Savior Jesus Christ and for my special passion for Neurosurgery. I am grateful I am able to fully commit to Neuroscience and my Neurosurgery patients. It is the collection of roses of love on our journey that transforms where we are in the planet earth into a heavenly garden. Two decades ago. I felt compelled to begin sharing the synopsis of my journey as a committed Christian Neurosurgeon and Anesthesiologist, actively practicing patients’ care in America close to four decades. Indeed, as many have experienced, our journey is full of stories that put demand on us for the coming new generations, to write about as our deep faith in Christianity opens our own eyes to see, our ears to hear, our minds to reflect and our hands to write. My greatest honor is to take the reader through more of my roses of love journey in my life, in Medicine with Neurosurgery patients, Residents and Trainee, in Christmas, through my Deep Spiritual Reflections, personal views and healthcare matters with living examples. The book contains eleven sections distributed in 89 chapters covering topics including love and Roses, Thanksgiving, Deep reflections, Way to Soon, My Christmas, Christmas with My Patients, Special Christmas, Human Trafficking, Christian Persecution, Synopsis in My Medical Journey, Healthcare, Patients’ Testimonial, stories and Patients’ quotes. The present book compliments my previous 15 books. My prayer is to be a positive influence to you and yours, in our Lord Jesus Christ Name. For Thine is the Kingdom, the Power and the Glory, for ever and ever Amen.

Book Synopsis Cherry Blossom Epiphany -- The Poetry and Philosophy of a Flowering Tree by : Robin D. Gill
Download or read book Cherry Blossom Epiphany -- The Poetry and Philosophy of a Flowering Tree written by Robin D. Gill and published by Paraverse Press. This book was released on 2006-10 with total page 738 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Cherry Blossom Epiphany - the poetry and philosophy of a flowering tree - a selection, translation and lengthy explication of 3000 haiku, waka, senryû and kyôka about a major theme from I.P.O.O.H. (In Praise Of Olde Haiku)by robin d. gill 1. Haiku -Translation from Japanese to English 2. Japanese poetry - 8c-20c - waka, haiku and senryû 3. Natural History - flowering cherries 4. Japan - Culture - Edo Era 5. Nonfiction - Literature 6. Translation - applied 7. You tell me! If the solemn yet happy New Year's is the most important celebration of Japanese (Yamato) ethnic culture, and the quiet aesthetic practice of Moon-viewing in the fall the most elegant expression of Pan-Asian Buddhism=religion, the subject of this book, Blossom-viewing - which generally means sitting down together in vast crowds to drink, dance, sing and otherwise enjoy the flowering cherry in full-bloom - is less a rite than a riot (a word originally meaning an 'uproar'). The major carnival of the year, it is unusual for being held on a date that is not determined by astronomy, astrology or the accidents of history as most such events are in literate cultures. It takes place whenever the cherry trees are good and ready. Enjoyed in the flesh, the blossom-viewing, or hanami, is also of the mind, so much so, in fact, that poetry is often credited with the spread of the practice over the centuries from the Imperial courts to the maids of Edo. Nobles enjoyed link-verse contests presided over by famous poet-judges. Hermits hung poems feting this flower of flowers (to say the generic "flower" = hana in Japanese connotes "cherry!") on strips of paper from the branches of lone trees where only the wind would read them. In the Occident, too, flowers embody beauty and serve as reminders of mortality, but there is no flower that, like the cherry blossom, stands for all flowers. Even the rose, by any name, cannot compare with the sakura in depth and breadth of poetic trope or viewing practice. In Cherry Blossom Epiphany, Robin D. Gill hopes to help readers experience, metaphysically, some of this alternative world. Haiku is a hyper-short (17-syllabet or 7-beat) Japanese poem directly or indirectly touching upon seasonal phenomena, natural or cultural. Literally millions of these ku have been written, some, perhaps, many times, about the flowering cherry (sakura), and the human activity associated with it, blossom-viewing (hanami). As the most popular theme in traditional haiku (haikai), cherry-blossom ku tend to be overlooked by modern critics more interested in creativity expressed with fresh subjects; but this embarrassment of riches has much to offer the poet who is pushed to come up with something, anything, different from the rest and allows the editor to select from what is, for all practical purposes, an infinite number of ku. Literary critics, take note: Like Rise, Ye Sea Slugs! (2003) and Fly-ku! (2004), this book not only explores new ways to anthologize poetry but demonstrates the practice of multiple readings (an average of two per ku) as part of a composite translation turned into an object of art by innovative clustering. Book-collectors might further note that while Cherry Blossom Epiphany may not be hardback, it takes advantage of the many symbols included with Japanese font to introduce design ornamentation (the circle within the circle, the reverse (Buddhist) swastika, etc.) hitherto not found in English language print. It is a one-of-a-kind work of design by the author.
