Four Page Turners. Behind Closed Doors by Skye Warren Marjorie Dunn is hiding in plain sight. The past can’t find her at the peaceful inn she owns in a quiet coastal town in Maine. Until Sam Brewer walks through the door. He arrives in the dead of night, with a dark suit and storm-gray eyes. Marjorie knows better than to trust this stranger, but she can’t resist his touch. Every kiss binds them together. Every night draws the danger close. She risks her heart with him, but more than that, she risks her life. The past has caught up with her. And it wants her dead. Gossamer in the Darkness by Kristen Ashley Their engagement was set when they were children. Loren Copeland, the rich and handsome Marquess of Remington, would marry Maxine Dawes, the stunning daughter of the Count of Derryman. It’s a power match. The perfect alliance for each house. However, the Count has been keeping secret a childhood injury that means Maxine can never marry. He’s done this as he searches for a miracle so this marriage can take place. The time has come. The marriage has to happen, or the contract will be broken. When all seems lost, the Count finds his miracle: There’s a parallel universe where his daughter has a twin. He must find her, bring her to his world and force her to make the Marquess fall in love with her. And this, he does. Delighted by Lexi Blake Brian “Boomer” Ward believes in sheltering strays. After all, the men and women of McKay-Taggart made him family when he had none. So when the kid next door needs help one night, he thinks nothing of protecting her until her mom gets home. But when he meets Daphne Carlton, the thoughts hit him hard. She’s stunning and hardworking and obviously in need of someone to put her first. It doesn’t hurt that she’s as sweet as the cupcakes she bakes. As Daphne and Boomer find themselves getting closer, outside forces put pressure on the new couple. But if they make it through the storm, love will just be the icing on the cake because family is the real prize. The Anti-Fan and the Idol by Rachel Van Dyken Ai-Ri has been training under YK Management in Korea for two years without any results. She doesn’t fit the typical mold for a successful K-POP idol image, literally down to her blood type. She has six more months before college entrance exams which means she only has six months to make it as an idol before her dreams are crushed. Things take a turn when two of the most famous male idols break away from their group and decide to form their own co-ed group. And wonder of all wonders, they need one more girl. It would be the perfect opportunity, except she hates them. **Every 1001 Dark Nights novella is a standalone story. For new readers, it’s an introduction to an author’s world. And for fans, it’s a bonus book in the author’s series. We hope you’ll enjoy each one as much as we do.**

These are just some of the memories from the Baby Boom era that are captured in NOW they make it legal: Reflections of an aging Baby Boomer. The book traces the evolution of American culture from the “black and white” 1950s through the turbulent 1960s and into the ‘70s, ending in the 1980s “when we began to turn into our parents.” It tells the history of the Baby Boom generation through the eyes of one of the 80 million people born between 1946 and 1964 – the greatest period of population growth in U.S. history. Baby Boomers grew up during a time of great change in America and had a major impact – in music, politics, pop culture and society at large. This nostalgic and fact-filled collection of stories will entertain those who were there, and educate those who weren’t.

A generation that started out in the 1960s, determined to be young forever, is now asking what the point is of growing old. Convinced they were special, Boomers discounted authority and charted their own course. They believed they could make the world better by pursuing freedom. The legacy of the Boomer experiment is becoming evident. Freedoms that were new when Boomers were young are now taken for granted, and we are living "after freedom." Are our freedoms real or illusory? Can we count on anything to be certain? Do virtue and character matter? In a secular age can we recover respect for the sacred? The time is ripe for Boomers to reconsider those good things in the past they refused to honor, to voice their blessings for generations who will shape the future, and to reclaim conviction as they stand firm and dare to say, "This is what I believe." Book excerpt: Growing older ... is a GOOD thing! Right? It does beat the alternative! You may have one of three reactions to this book's title: (1) I'm not yet a Boomer so aging is of no concern to me; (2) I'm way older than a Boomer so this is too late for me; (3) I am a Boomer ... and I don't want to admit it or even think about the fact I'm getting older every day. Go away!Hey, I hear you. But, this book is for every single adult, no matter which of these three initial gut reactions we may have. Every day, we get a day older (unless we encounter the unhappy alternative, of course). That's a good thing. No matter what your age, the stories, reflections and insights you'll read here will help make your life more positive and hope-full! That's right: filled with hope!Specifically, Baby Boomers are the 76 million-plus who were born between 1946 and 1964 - those who are now in their 50's, 60's and 70's. This can be one of the most exciting seasons of life yet encountered. Really! This seasoned author-minister to Boomers, seniors and all others, shares personal life experiences and reflections to encourage and inspire his fellow aging Baby Boomers, to make this the most fulfilling third of their lives. Yet older individuals will also be motivated by the discoveries they'll come across in these pages. And to those younger - hey, we are each getting older every day. It's not to early to learn how to make your life a great trip. Are you feeling some angst about this aging reality? * Do you wish you had a better attitude about getting older? * Do you know someone who is discouraged by the reality of advancing years? Maybe it is you. * Don't you wish you could see the bright side of now having years of accumulated experience and wisdom? * Would you like to discover the special gift you are to your world, because of your many years already lived? You can. This book will give you insights you may not have yet had unlocked. You will be uplifted, blessed and encouraged as you come to see the special influence you have at this stage in your life. You will identify with the author who is a "real" person - just like you. You'll relate to the stories he shares from his life. He does so in an easy-to-read and relaxed style. Many of your own stories and life adventures will come to mind and you'll start to think: "Hey, I can bless the people I know by sharing that with them. This will be fun!"Do you want to know how a New York city-dwelling Grandma could inspire you by her ability in wielding an axe to prepare a chicken dinner for her family and friends during a farm visit? How could summers of slinging heavy hay bales in hot, humid summer weather prepare a person for enduring the daily challenges of getting older? Have you considered how basics learned in scouting could enable a senior to be strong in doing their duty each day? What can be learned from an Olympic athlete who was shot down in wartime, left to drift in the Pacific Ocean for over a month and imprisoned in an enemy concentration camp, that could encourage you? What you like to be reassured that it is okay to take a vacation - to take some time off? In fact, that it is not only okay, but necessary for your survival?! These will be just a few of the nuggets you'll mine as you read. For an altitude change in your attitude about aging, get your copy right away and start reading now. Book excerpt: Generation Ageless—an authoritative and eye-opening look at the past, present, and future of Baby Boomers Think Baby Boomers are all alike? Think again. This dynamic generation is nearing the traditional age of retirement, but is in no mood to slow down. Learn how to market, sell to, do business with, or just understand this remarkable generation, from Yankelovich, Inc., the organization that knows them better than anyone else. Yankelovich actually coined the term "Baby Boomer" back in the late 1960s, when they first started collecting data on this influential generation. Now, more than thirty years later, they have the most complete information on Boomers ever assembled. And they have put it all together in this groundbreaking look at America's largest and most powerful generation. In Generation Ageless, Yankelovich president J. Walker Smith, Ph.D., and senior partner Ann Clurman, Boomers themselves, dig deep into what makes this generation tick. With fresh, original data and a wide-ranging look at everything about Boomers, they dissect Boomers into six major segments—Straight Arrows, Due Diligents, Maximizers, Sideliners, Diss/Contenteds, and Re-Activists—to provide new insights into the world's most talked-about generation. The results show key imperatives invaluable to anyone selling a product, service, or idea to this 78-million strong group. Boomers are the dominant generation in America. Their values and aspirations set the tone for everyone. Advances in medicine and health mean that this youth-obsessed generation is now focused on an everlasting prime of life. They are literally middle age–less: holding onto their position at the top of the pyramid for as long as possible, and not fading away to their golden years. Today's fifty- and sixty-year-old Boomers are not eagerly anticipating lives of disengaged retirement. Instead, middle age–less Boomers expect another twenty or thirty years of impact and influence—albeit in a variety of ways reflective of a surfeit of agendas and ambitions they have yet to fulfill.

Book excerpt: “Particularly relevant in an election year...This book is full of data—on the economy, technology, and more—that will help millennials articulate their generational rage and help boomers understand where they’re coming from.” —The Washington Post “Jill Filipovic cuts through the noise with characteristic clarity and nuance. Behind the meme is a thoughtfully reported book that greatly contributes to our understanding of generational change.” —Irin Carmon, coauthor of the New York Times bestseller Notorious RBG Baby Boomers are the most prosperous generation in American history, but their kids are screwed. In this eye-opening book, journalist Jill Filipovic breaks down the massive problems facing Millennials including climate, money, housing, and healthcare. In Ok Boomer, Let’s Talk, journalist (and Millenial) Jill Filipovic tells the definitive story of her generation. Talking to gig workers, economists, policy makers, and dozens of struggling Millennials drowning in debt on a planet quite literally in flames, Filipovic paints a shocking and nuanced portrait of a generation being left behind: -Millennials are the most educated generation in American history—and also the most broke. -Millennials hold just 3 percent of American wealth. When they were the same age, Boomers held 21 percent. -The average older Millennial has $15,000 in student loan debt. The average Boomer at the same age? Just $2,300 in today’s dollars. -Millennials are paying almost 40 percent more for their first homes than Boomers did. -American families spend twice as much on healthcare now than they did when Boomers were young parents. Filipovic shows that Millennials are not the avocado-toast-eating snowflakes of Boomer outrage fantasies. But they are the first American generation that will do worse than their parents. “OK, Boomer” isn’t just a sarcastic dismissal—it’s a recognition that Millennials are in crisis, and that Boomer voters, bankers, and policy makers are responsible. Filipovic goes beyond the meme, upending dated assumptions with revelatory data and revealing portraits of young people delaying adulthood to pay down debt, obsessed with “wellness” because they can’t afford real healthcare, and struggling to #hustle in the precarious gig economy. Ok Boomer, Let’s Talk is at once an explainer and an extended olive branch that will finally allow these two generations to truly understand each other.

Book excerpt: Baby Boomers experienced a world growing up that is very different from the one we live in today. Some say it's better, and some say it's worse. We can all agree it's very different. These are humor columns about being a Baby Boomer. Baby Boomers came of age in a time when there were water fountains instead of hydration stations. Our childhood was filled with playing outside. When we were forced to stay inside it was tantamount to being punished. We spoke to people in person and understood body language. There was no cyber world. We all had to learn how to deal with reality. There were no computer games. There were pick-up sports based on who had a baseball, football, basketball or other sports equipment. Playing a game depended on if the sports equipment owners were willing to share. Card games were played with real cards. We camped out without adults, went on bike hikes, swam in creeks and more. Now we're middle age or older. Our bodies are changing, and the world around us continues to make less and less sense. This book is about the many common things experienced by Baby Boomers. Just like the song from the group "The Who", I'm "Talkin' 'bout my generation.

Book excerpt: This book is the true, raw, factual story of my life experiences which formed me into the person I am today; the good, bad and ugly. Be aware that as you read this you will get into the author's head. No punches are pulled. Your story might be very different or maybe even similar. If you choose to read this you may feel compelled to think back on your own life with all its forks in the road; the good, bad and ugly. Writing this book was cathartic for me. Your reading it may be the same for you. I am a Baby Boomer born in 1946. My life as I know it started in 1950. This is the story of how I became who I am in a small town in northern Michigan. Growing up is not for sissys or snowflakes. This book will bring you back to that time. Buckle up! Generation Xers (born 1965-85) followed us Boomers. You should read this book. You might gain some understanding of your parents and where they are coming from when they talk. You have a lot in common with us Boomers (like it or not) in that you came of age at the end of the analogue age. My sons are Xers. The rebellion factor is strong in this generation but you are now of an age where you might be able to think and read about how your parents came of age without judgement. Millennials (born 1985-2000) might think there is nothing here for them. Not true. The Chapters on Regret and Friendship are especially applicable. There are things I did during my journey that I sincerely regret to this day. Knowing what I did and why might help you avoid the ugly fork in the road called regret and might give you a clue as to how to be a better friend. Generation Zs (born 1985-2000) probably should avoid this book. You are just coming of age and are mostly convinced that older generations have little to offer in the way of guidance. It is your loss. This is the B&W version

Book excerpt: "Guidance you need to understand and embrace the nation's most economically dominant generation."- B. Joseph Pine II, coauthor, The Experience Economy and Authenticity "The first book about Boomer men to integrate gender and generational insights into a framework marketers can use." - Marti Barletta, author, Marketing to Women and PrimeTime Women ..". a masterful job of envisioning how Baby Boomer men are about to transform the cultural narratives about aging and maturity." - Ken Dychtwald, Ph.D., author, Age Wave and Age Power Born from 1946 to 1964, Baby Boomers represent 26 percent of the U.S. population. But pervasiveness alone does not capture their story of continuing influence and reinvention. Boomers have shaped every life stage they've experienced. With the majority now over age 50, they are again changing business practices and institutions, from dawn of medical tourism to later-life entrepreneurialism. They are still shaping popular culture, from blockbuster films to stadium filling rock concerts. This book gives you astute glimpses into what it means to be part of the generation. Through this lens you'll discover how you can improve marketing communications, product and service development, nonprofit value, and public policies. A special section looks at marketing to Baby Boomer men, including: Historical, technological, social, and cultural touchstones; Underdeveloped ways to combine gender and generational nuances; New segmentation research about the Boomer male cohort. The next few chapters of western society will include Boomers as influential protagonists, while Generation Reinvention continues to change the meaning of business, marketing, aging, and consumerism. Accurately forecasting the Boomer future has significant monetary implications for numerous industries. Some choose to see problems with Boomer aging. Readers of this book will come to see extraordinary opportunities. Brent Green is an award-winning strategist, creative director, copywriter, author, speaker, and consultant focusing on generational marketing. Book excerpt: The Vietnam War, JFK, Martin Luther King Jr., peace marches, love-ins, and the fusion of blues with jazz....all from a fresh perspective. he Baby Boomer generation. Who knew what that phrase would come to represent when it was coined? We had the highest standard of living, saw the most advanced technological changes, lived through wars in foreign countries and in our cities' streets, and set musical genres and fashion trends that some of us would like to forget. We were invincible. This book revisits those times, bringing back the pride of what we did right, and making plans to improve what we could have done better. Unabashedly, I now present these events with a remorse that I personally didn't find Jesus Christ until later in life.
