Book Synopsis Before You Go Abroad Handbook by : Shyla Esko Bare
Download or read book Before You Go Abroad Handbook written by Shyla Esko Bare and published by Createspace Independent Publishing Platform. This book was released on 2017-07-28 with total page 148 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Does this book really have over 127 tips and tools for planning an international trip? Well, let's just say we stopped counting at that number. You see, this little handbook is packed with over 127 insights, websites, and resources that are essential for any traveler planning to go abroad. Are the tips and tools really secret? Actually yes, they are secret-at least no one told us about them before we journeyed abroad and we had done a lot of research and preparation. We had to discover many of them the hard way as we traveled around the world to more than 70 countries. These are the secrets we wished we had found, in a concise and consolidated book like this one, before we went abroad. Why did we write this book? We love to travel, and the more we traveled the world, the more we learned how to travel smarter, safer, and cheaper. When friends realized how much traveling we had done, the more questions they would ask us about how to travel. We soon realized we could answer just about every question that came our way. That is when we decided to share our travel knowledge as a way to help, enable, and inspire others to travel abroad. From that desire sprang over twenty classes that we teach in person and online, as well as this handbook, the first book in our Travel Smart Strategies series. Now you can travel smarter, safer, and cheaper too. Happy Travels!

Book Synopsis And how was Your Trip Abroad? by : Richard P. Letsinger
Download or read book And how was Your Trip Abroad? written by Richard P. Letsinger and published by AuthorHouse. This book was released on 2010 with total page 234 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Richard Philips Letsinger worked in England, France and Germany as a member of Supreme Headquarters Allied Expeditionary Forces (SHAEF) for the last two years of World War II. The majority of his time was spent as an assistant to Brigadier General Archibald Clough in the Map and Survey Section of G-3 Operations. The section was responsible for mapping the plans to invade continental Europe (OVERLORD). As such, Letsinger earned the security classification, BIGOT. This classification was between TOP SECRET and EYES ONLY. He regularly observed General Eisenhower, Field Marshal Tedder, Field Marshall Montgomery, General Smith and many other leaders during the planning of D-Day. These memoirs contain Letsinger's wartime experiences culled from a vivid memory and the journals he maintained throughout his enlistment. In addition, he retained all correspondence from friends and family and has reproduced many of the letters here, giving a balanced picture of what was happening in his life, both home and away.

Download or read book Writing Abroad written by Peter Chilson and published by University of Chicago Press. This book was released on 2017-10-13 with total page 247 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: “Tell me all about your trip!” It’s a request that follows travelers as they head out into the world, and one of the first things they hear when they return. When we leave our homes to explore the wider world, we feel compelled to capture the experiences and bring the story home. But for those who don’t think of themselves as writers, putting experiences into words can be more stressful than inspirational. Writing Abroad is meant for travelers of all backgrounds and writing levels: a student embarking on overseas study; a retiree realizing a dream of seeing China; a Peace Corps worker in Kenya. All can benefit from documenting their adventures, whether on paper or online. Through practical advice and adaptable exercises, this guide will help travelers hone their observational skills, conduct research and interviews, choose an appropriate literary form, and incorporate photos and videos into their writing. Writing about travel is more than just safeguarding memories—it can transform experiences and tease out new realizations. With Writing Abroad, travelers will be able to deepen their understanding of other cultures and write about that new awareness in clear and vivid prose.

Download or read book A Trip Abroad written by Don Carlos Janes and published by Good Press. This book was released on 2019-12-04 with total page 136 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "A Trip Abroad" teaches us that deeds usually begin with thoughts. Don Carlos Janes, a Canadian preacher, had a passionate dream to visit the holy places of the Earth. Unable to resist his dream, he started his big journey through Scotland and England to Europe and then to Minor Asia and Syria. He visited Galilee and Jerusalem and, from there, made trips to the land of pharaohs. The book issued at the beginning of the twentieth century is an interesting account of the travel to the Holy Land, and the state of turism and travel infrustructure of those times.
