Download or read book Bod XXIII written by Tatsuo Tokoo and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2013-06-17 with total page 407 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Garland's magnificent facsimile series of the manuscripts of Percy Bysshe Shelley and Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley in the Bodleian Library, Oxford ( The Bodleian Shelley Manuscripts , 22 volumes, 1986-1997) is now made complete by the publication of its Index-volume. Volume XXIII provides the key to the contents of the Shelleyan notebooks and papers in all their complexity: poems, prose, translations, fragments, calculations, drawing and doodles, addresses and other miscellaneous jottings. The accumulated findings provide a treasure-trove of information about the Shelley's lives: their writings and readings, and echoes of classical and later authors; the people they met, corresponded with, rented houses from, or saw perform; the towns they visited, the very houses in which they lived, the lakes and rivers they sailed and the mountains they climbed. The intellectual and physical data of these manuscripts will help open new vistas for students of their lives, thought and creative writing.

Book Synopsis Calibration of Pegasus and Explorer XXIII Detector Panels by : Robert J. Naumann
Download or read book Calibration of Pegasus and Explorer XXIII Detector Panels written by Robert J. Naumann and published by . This book was released on 1969 with total page 52 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Several series of tests were conducted to establish the ballistic limit for the various Pegasus and Explorer XXIII detector panels. In these tests extremely small, carefully sized beads were launched in a velocity range that included the perforation threshold. By varying the size, a ballistic limit curve was established on a mass-velocity plot. Such curves were then extrapolated to average meteor velocity to obtain the characteristic mass for each sensor. Additional tests were conducted on the Pegasus panels using the Pegasus test tool, which contains the identical electronic circuitry used by the flight models. These tests included hot and cold tests, thermal cycling after impact, oblique impacts, etc. Several types of anomalous events noted in the operation of the spacecraft could be simulated in this manner. Some indication of the dependence of detection threshold upon size was obtained, and the implications of these tests in the analysis of the results will be discussed.

This book was released on 2016-06-21 with total page 264 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: These transactions publish research in computer-based methods of computational collective intelligence (CCI) and their applications in a wide range of fields such as the semantic Web, social networks, and multi-agent systems. TCCI strives to cover new methodological, theoretical and practical aspects of CCI understood as the form of intelligence that emerges from the collaboration and competition of many individuals (artificial and/or natural). The application of multiple computational intelligence technologies, such as fuzzy systems, evolutionary computation, neural systems, consensus theory, etc., aims to support human and other collective intelligence and to create new forms of CCI in natural and/or artificial systems. This twenty-third issue contains 14 carefully selected and revised contributions.
Download or read book Air Pollution XXIII written by J. Barnes and published by WIT Press. This book was released on 2015-06-01 with total page 467 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Containing the proceedings of the 23rd International Conference on Modelling, Monitoring and Management of Air Pollution, this book is the latest in a well established series. It addresses various aspects of a topic that is of considerable worldwide concern due to its known impact on health and the environment. The need to balance concern for the environment with the demand for generating economic growth makes air pollution a particularly challenging problem. Further complicating the picture, the widespread nature and effects of air pollution make it an issue that requires not just local but global attention and cooperation. Science can help us identify the nature and scale of air pollution impacts. It is therefore essential in guiding government decisions regarding the most appropriate and effective regulations. As we learn ever more about the basic science of air pollution, and its application, we are better able to predict, assess, and mitigate its effects, locally, regionally, nationally, and internationally. This book presents advances in our knowledge of the science of air pollution. Topics covered include Air Pollution Modelling; Air Pollution Mitigation; Air Pollution Management; Aerosols and Particles; Emission Studies; Exposure and Health Effects; Indoor Air Pollution; Monitoring and Measuring; Case Studies; Emerging Technologies; Power Generation and Air Pollution; Incineration Plant Studies; Air Pollution Chemistry; Global and Regional Studies; Policy and Legislation.

Download or read book Multiparticle Dynamics - Proceedings Of The Xxiii International Symposium written by M M Block and published by World Scientific. This book was released on 1994-04-26 with total page 650 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This international meeting on ultrahigh energy multiparticle phenomena started with a summary of neutrino physics, followed by a detailed review of LEP results. It moved on to the fast-breaking field of rapidity gaps, hard pomeron and small-x structure functions at both Hera and the FermiLab Tevatron. The major collider experiments at FermiLab, and in particular, the results of the top quark search were presented in complete detail. The fields of intermittency, multiplicities, correlation functions, heavy quarks, soft and semihard hadronic physics, and the particle physics aspects of cosmic rays were subjects of spirited debate.
