Download or read book Cheer Up Love written by Susan Calman and published by Two Roads. This book was released on 2016-05-05 with total page 183 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: 'DEEPLY HONEST, SURPRISINGLY HILARIOUS AND UPLIFTING' The Pool 'HEART-WARMING: UNMISSABLE' Damian Barr, Metro Susan Calman is a much-loved comedian and writer who has appeared on countless radio and television programmes from The News Quiz and Just a Minute to Armchair Detectives and Secret Scotland. She's hosted the podcast Mrs Brightside and stole the nation's hearts in Strictly Come Dancing. Her breakout solo stand up show, Susan Calman is Convicted, dealt with subjects like the death penalty, appearance and depression. It was the overwhelming and positive reaction to the show she wrote about mental health that made Susan want to write a more detailed account of surviving depression when you're the world's most negative and anxious person. The Crab of Hate is the personification of Calman's depression and her version of the notorious Black Dog. A constant companion all her life, the Crab has provided her with the best, and very worst of times. This is a very personal and affecting memoir of how, after many years and with a lot of help and talking, Susan has embraced her dark side and realised that she can be the most joyous sad person you'll ever meet. CHEER UP LOVE IS FUNNY, POIGNANT AND (HOPEFULLY) INFORMATIVE. IT'S ALWAYS GOOD TO TALK AND TO REALISE YOU ARE NOT ALONE. *If you loved Cheer Up Love, try Sunny Side Up, Susan's Calmanifesto of Happiness*

Sadie McAllister’s clients know how lucky they are to have her: an ultra-fastidious personal chef who leaves behind a spotless kitchen and a week’s worth of mouth-watering meals. Erik Davis, her best friend since middle school, is content to enjoy Sadie’s culinary skills too while maintaining their “friends only” status. But when Sadie is offered a once-in-a-lifetime cooking job across country, Erik realizes maybe he’s taken his best friend for granted. Even more, he’s about to lose his only chance for lasting love. How can Erik convince Sadie that the well-known adage “Marry your best friend” just might apply to them? With God’s help, can they both move past their assumptions about each other and their future? Should Sadie and Erik risk taking their relationship to the romantic point of no return? If they do, their decades-long friendship is as a good as done . . . unless it ends at the altar.
Book Synopsis Squirrels Can't Burp by : Mary Zeger
Download or read book Squirrels Can't Burp written by Mary Zeger and published by Christian Faith Publishing, Inc.. This book was released on 2018-07-26 with total page 44 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: My love and appreciation for nature is rooted in my childhood. Growing up in rural Upstate New York, my life was filled with the wonders of nature. Our house was surrounded by apple and cherry orchards, and my five sisters and I spent countless hours gathering drops and climbing through the branches. Our parents were extremely accommodating when it came to pets! At one time or another, we had dogs, cats, a skunk, raccoons, a pig, a goat, guinea pigs, hamsters, gerbils, a rooster, rabbits, fish, hermit crabs, turtles, and a duck! They were all well-loved members of our family. My husband, Gary, and I, along with our three children, were fortunate to be able to move back to my childhood home. So once again, there were orchards to explore and many pets to love and cherish. When our three granddaughters were born, I wanted to instill in them our family's love of nature. A humorous but educational book with unusual scientific facts about animals seemed a good way for me to do that, and to have their uncle illustrate it made it perfect! I hope that future generations of children will enjoy this book and learn to appreciate the world we live in.

Download or read book Reserved: A Love Story written by Tracy Ewens and published by Tracy Ewens. This book was released on 2016-02-09 with total page 318 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: If only life were as simple as making a reservation. Makenna Rye Conroy was living the dream—with an amazing husband and a beautiful new baby daughter—when one night changed everything. Almost six years after Adam’s death, Makenna and her daughter Paige have built a solid, happy life together. Makenna manages her brother’s trendy restaurant, The Yard, and helps out at Ryeland Farms, the family business, all while navigating the world of private school parenting. Sure, being a single mom has its challenges, but she hardly has time to pack her daughter’s lunch in the morning, let alone think about dating. Travis McNulty, the middle child and biggest disappointment of the McNulty clan, is a chef at his best friend’s new restaurant. He gave up apologizing for not being the football hero his family wanted a long time ago. In fact, Travis apologizes for very little these days. He loves creating great food—it’s more of a passion than a job—and he lives life on his own terms with few complications. For the past couple years, Makenna and Travis have worked side by side at The Yard, bickering, teasing, and never taking each other very seriously. That is until Makenna has her usual reoccurring dream; but this time, instead of her late husband as the featured man, Travis stands in his place. Travis may be attracted to his best friend’s sister, but she’s a widow and a mother, which tops the charts for complicated in his book. As the game changes, Makenna and Travis, with a little help from Paige, have to figure out what they are willing to risk to reserve a table for three. Below are courtesy content warnings to the best recollection. They cover the major topics/themes, but may not be as nuanced as other trigger/content warning sites. car accident, death, loss of a loved one, slut shaming

Book excerpt: This complete (and completely gross) guide to the human body is the hilarious debut nonfiction children's book from world-wide multi-million bestselling author and former doctor Adam Kay! Do you ever think about your body and how it works? Like really, really think about it? The human body is extraordinary and fascinating and, well...pretty weird. Yours is weird, mine is weird, your math teacher's is even weirder. This book is going to tell you what's actually going on in there, and answer the really important questions, like: Are boogers safe to eat? Look, if your nose is going to all that effort of creating a snack, the least we can do is check out its nutritional value. (Yes, they're safe. Chew away!) And how much of your life will you spend on the toilet? About a year—so bring a good book. (I recommend this one.) Sit back, relax, put on some rubber gloves, and let a doctor take you on (slightly repulsive) tour of your insides. Welcome to Kay's Anatomy*. *A fancy word for your body. See, you're learning already.
