Book Synopsis When the Angel Calls by : Woody McClendon
Download or read book When the Angel Calls written by Woody McClendon and published by . This book was released on 2021-01-30 with total page 288 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The author flew medevac missions for over ten years over the decades of his career, from which he brings a historical perspective on how it evolved. He takes the reader down the path of trauma patient care from the early days of hospital-based programs that spared no cost for aircraft and crews to today to the point when private equity companies took over. They have mandated cheaper, smaller helicopters that were never meant to fly in the harsh conditions of rough terrain and total darkness demanded by many trauma patient missions.Painting this trend against the deaths of hundreds of medevac crew members is the chilling story told in When the Angel calls.Equally important is the story of those heroic medevac crew members in every city in the US who stand ready 24/7 to risk their lives saving trauma victims. Were it not for them those victims likely would not survive. The media has never highlighted their story. When the Angel Calls highlights these heroes so that more Americans learn about them, the risks they take for their patients, and the miracles they achieve every day.
Book Synopsis And He Called Me Angel by : Angel Meyers
Download or read book And He Called Me Angel written by Angel Meyers and published by AuthorHouse. This book was released on 2015-02-03 with total page 294 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: After leaving home in the summer of 84', I found myself knee deep in the drug scene. While there I found what would be my Savior. I did not "see" him at first; I heard him, or his boots that is. Snake skin cowboy boots with shiny silver taps, tips, and all. Just thinking about those boots now gives me a feeling I can't describe. They made a very distinct sound; like a small horse parading, not the normal kind, the ones that dance. He was very particular about his boots, matter of fact, he was very particular about everything. He had many boots and many rules. Following the rules was something I tried hard to be good at. The consequences for breaking those rules became more unpredictable and brutal over time. Easy, as he was known on the streets, was a Pimp and he said I was his Number One. My guess is now, all of us thought we were his number one. As the years went by things changed, but not for the better. I thought of escape, escaping him and everything he did. We all grew to know, death may be the only escape.

Download or read book Nobody's Angel written by Thomas McGuane and published by Vintage. This book was released on 2012-06-13 with total page 241 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A novel about a former soldier in Big Sky Country whose life is spiraling out of control, from the acclaimed author of Ninety-two in the Shade and Cloudbursts, who is "among the most arresting and fascinating [writers] of his generation" (San Francisco Chronicle). In McGuane's first novel set in his famed American West, Patrick Fitzpatrick is a former soldier, a fourth-generation cowboy, and a whiskey addict. His grandfather wants to run away to act in movies, his sister wants to burn the house down, and his new stallion is bent on killing him: all of them urgently require attention. But increasingly Patrick himself is spiraling out of control, into that region of romantic misadventure and vanishing possibilities that is Thomas McGuane's Montana. Nowhere has McGuane mapped that territory more precisely—or with such tenderhearted lunacy—than in Nobody's Angel, a novel that places him in a genre of his own.

Book Synopsis Spirit Junkie by : Gabrielle Bernstein
Download or read book Spirit Junkie written by Gabrielle Bernstein and published by Harmony. This book was released on 2012-09-18 with total page 290 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: “So long, Carrie Bradshaw—there’s a new role model for go-getting thirty-somethings. Gabrielle Bernstein is doling out inner peace and self-love for the postmodern spiritual set.”—Elle Foreword by Marianne Williamson Before she became a celebrated teacher and lecturer, Gabrielle Bernstein was going down a dangerous path. For years, Bernstein struggled with eating disorders, drug and alcohol abuse, and constant self-doubt and self-loathing. That all changed when she discovered A Course in Miracles, which taught her that much of what she feared in life was not frightening at all and, in many cases, not even real. Now, Bernstein lives an empowered, healthy, and joyful life. In Spirit Junkie, Bernstein guides readers through the life-changing lessons that shaped her spiritual journey: how we become accustomed to fearful ways of thinking, how to recognize and change those thought patterns to make way for bliss, and how to maintain our happiness and share it with the world. By understanding and changing our perceptions, hang-ups will melt away, resentments will release, and a childlike faith in joy will be reignited. Praise for Spirit Junkie “For those ready to give up their addiction to suffering or who simply need to release the general malaise of a too-busy, too shallow way of life, Spirit Junkie is a soothing balm for the soul. Gabrielle Bernstein is a brilliant shining guide for all who seek to have more love, more light and more miracles in their life.”—Arielle Ford, author of The Soulmate Secret
Book Synopsis Systematic Theology, Second Edition by : Wayne A. Grudem
Download or read book Systematic Theology, Second Edition written by Wayne A. Grudem and published by Zondervan Academic. This book was released on 2020-12-08 with total page 1617 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This new edition of Systematic Theology by Wayne Grudem is one of the most important resources for helping you understand Scripture and grow as a Christian. The most widely used resource of the last 25 years in its area, Systematic Theology has been thoroughly revised and expanded for the first time while retaining the features that have made it the standard in its field: clear explanations, an emphasis on each doctrine's scriptural basis, and practical applications to daily life. With nearly 250 pages of new content and revisions, this new edition now includes the following distinctive features: Updated analysis of recent controversies within evangelical theology, including the eternal relationship between the Father and the Son in the Trinity, the role of women in the church, miraculous gifts of the Holy Spirit, and contemporary worship music. New discussion and critiques of recent theological controversies situated outside of traditional evangelical theology, such as open theism, the "new perspective on Paul," Molinism (or "middle knowledge"), "Free Grace" theology, and the preterist view of Christ's second coming. Completely revised chapter on the clarity of Scripture. Completely revised chapter on creation and evolution, including a longer critique of theistic evolution and an extensive discussion on the age of the earth. New discussion of how biblical inerrancy applies to some specific "problem verses" in the Gospels. Additional material explaining evangelical Protestant differences with Roman Catholicism, Protestant liberalism, and Mormonism. Completely updated bibliographies. All Scripture quotations updated from RSV to ESV. Updated section on contemporary worship music. Numerous other updates and corrections. Part of the brilliance of Systematic Theology has been its simplicity and ease of use. Each chapter follows the same structure: discussion of the doctrine being considered, an explanation of that doctrine's biblical support and possible objections, followed by personal application and key terms to know for personal growth. Chapters also include a Scripture memory passage, references to other literature on the topic, and suggested hymns and worship songs. If you think theology is hard to understand or boring, then this new edition of Systematic Theology will change your mind.
