Download or read book No Price Too Great written by Lee Solomon and published by Tate Publishing. This book was released on 2010-08 with total page 288 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In often raw emotional terms, No Price Too Great tells the story of a Chinese businesswoman and an American lawyer who met and fell in love while they lived in separate worlds. The book illustrates the difficulties, hopes, dreams, fears, and the sometimes crushing and overpowering emotions experienced when trying to bring three people from two totally different cultures into one family. Author Lee Solomon deals openly and candidly with differences in age, race, and culture between two lovers both before and after they became husband and wife impacted their lives. It also shows the prejudice that exists in surprising places and in surprising ways, even within the same race. Ultimately the book tells the story of a love that would not be denied: the story of an American man, a Chinese woman, and a Chinese girl whose bond became so strong that nothing could keep them from becoming a family. Within this beautiful love story is the compelling and touching story about a teenage Chinese girl who had never known a father. It tells how she came to love and accept a round eyed man who lived on another continent as her own father, and how he in turn came to love her as his own daughter. It also tells how in the end it was their devotion to each other and to the woman they both loved that helped overcome the most difficult obstacle they faced before they could finally fulfill their lifelong dream of having a warm and loving family.

Book Synopsis Chinese Business Culture by : Andrea Schulz
Download or read book Chinese Business Culture written by Andrea Schulz and published by diplom.de. This book was released on 2006-11-23 with total page 138 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Inhaltsangabe:Abstract: The aim of this Masters thesis is to explain Chinese business culture. In order to understand why Chinese business culture is different from European or American business culture, for example, it is necessary to know the roots of Chinese cultural values: what is the specific Chinese context which made it possible that China bore its unique business culture? Which specific values are valid in China today? How do they influence Chinese business conduct? This Master s thesis explains the development and constitution of Chinese business culture. Furthermore, with reference to the latest literature about the topic and additional field research in a private company in China, this Masters thesis reveals recent changes in Chinese business cultural values. Because business culture is influenced by variables such as globalisation or the political system, it represents a dynamic value system over the long term. Thus, this Masters thesis updates academic knowledge about this topic. Moreover, it addresses questions that have been raised by academic authors. Whenever I found a remark in literature which raised up an interesting issue for further research, I noted the hint down and included it into my survey. Thereby, I try to add new perspectives to the topic of Chinese business culture. In total, this Masters thesis should therefore be a useful and topical guide to Chinese business culture. Book excerpt: Guangzhou, a gateway to China, is the best-kept secret for most Western traders, yet it is more dynamic and substantial as a trading center than Shanghai and Beijing. This is the core message of the book A Diplomat in Guangzhou. Between 1999 and 2003, a veteran employee of US Department of Agriculture went to Guangzhou (Canton) to promote import of US products and to create opportunities for US exporters. In addition to showing the ins and outs of import practices in China, the author recounts what it was like to live and work in one of the busiest cities in Asia. He shows the advantages of knowing Chinese language and culture, and ways to develop and cultivate an indigenous business network. Readers interested in trading with China will find practical tips on how to live and work successfully in China in this book.
Book Synopsis Border Crossing in Greater China by : Jenn-hwan Wang
Download or read book Border Crossing in Greater China written by Jenn-hwan Wang and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2014-07-25 with total page 281 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: China’s transformation from a poor and underdeveloped country into a global market power has profoundly altered its socioeconomic power relations with the other countries in the Greater China region, namely, Taiwan and Hong Kong. Indeed, this economic shift has resulted in the massive flow of capital and people from Taiwan as well as Hong Kong to China, to seek business opportunities and new lifestyles. These flows have in turn completely transformed longstanding borderlines in the region. This book examines the transformation of Taiwan and Hong Kong’s socioeconomic relationships with China as their economies have become more deeply integrated into Greater China. Across three key sections, it explores the impact of increasing social interaction and the shrinking of existing borderlines to ask whether these changes will bring about a convergence of identity among the people involved. "Production" examines how investments from Taiwan and Hong Kong to China have transformed production networks; "Community" explores the impact of cross-boundary mobility and the integration of migrants into Chinese communities; and finally, "Identity" engages with what is one of the most important issues in contemporary Taiwanese society. Border Crossing in Greater China contributes not only to theoretical debates on border crossing issues, but also provides valuable insights on the practical concerns regarding social and political integration and tensions in the region. As such, it will be of great interest to students and scholars of Taiwan studies, Chinese studies, Chinese society and Chinese economics.

The book will help both established and new scholars and practitioners in the field to understand the changing nature of public relations in China. It offers a unique perspective by placing the discussion of the development of public relations in the general context of the changes and development of China as a whole, and in relation to the changing status of public relations around the world. Accordingly, readers will not only gain a more in-depth understanding of the history of the field, but also of the political, economic, societal, cultural and scientific development of China in modern times.
