Zugänge zu Bildkulturen des Mittelalters und der Frühen Neuzeit, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Vorliegende Arbeit beschäftigt sich mit der Darstellung von Wasser im Kontext der Kunst- und Wunderkammern und versucht dabei eine erste Perspektive zu entwickeln, welche Aspekte hierbei erkenntnisbringend zu beachten sind. Dadurch, dass die wissenschaftliche Auseinandersetzung mit Kunst- und Wunderkammern erst innerhalb der letzten 30 bis 40 Jahre begann und der thematische Schwerpunkt dieser Hausarbeit auf der Wasserdarstellung liegt, bot sich wenig bis keine Forschungsliteratur, die genau dieses Thema beleuchtet. Folglich war es notwendig, sich dem Thema über die Idee und den innewohnenden Prinzipien der Kunstkammer selbst sowie deren einzelnen Exponaten zu nähern. Die Arbeit beginnt deshalb mit einem kurzen, einführenden Teil zum Konzept der Kunst- und Wunderkammer und führt dabei wesentliche Charakteristika auf, die im weiteren Verlauf wieder aufgegriffen werden. Darüber hinaus war es notwendig zu erarbeiten, welche Eigenschaften Wasser besitzt und welche symbolischen Zuschreibungen damit im Zusammenhang stehen, sodass anschließend das Verhältnis dieser Eigenschaften zu den einzelnen Exponaten untersucht werden konnte. Als erkenntnisbringend erwies sich dabei auch die Beschäftigung mit den Beziehungen der ausgestellten Objekte untereinander sowie der darin implizit enthaltenen Anordnung und Konzeption von Wunderkammern. Aus Mangel an spezifischer Forschungsliteratur, dem neu aufgekeimten Interesse an der Wunderkammer sowie deren Grundidee, die Welt im Kleinen abzubilden, scheint das gewählte Hausarbeitsthema relevant, sich diesem Sammlungstypus weiter zu nähern und womöglich bisher wenig beachtete Aspekte zu erkunden.
