Wer noch ein Stuck der Dusseldorfer Anfange," wie sie von immermann so meisterlich charakterisirt worden sind, mit erlebt hat, der wird sich jener fast kindlichen Unbefangenheit erinnern, mit der sie und ihre einzelnen Junger damals einer nur noch gunstig gesinnten Welt gegenuber standen. Ja, es war ein prachtiges Leben in jenen Jahren im Kunstlerkreise! Wie vertrauend blickte der Junger zum Meister herauf! Wie herzlich war die Freundschaft der Studiengenossen!
