Download or read book Covid - 19 Pandemic: Issues on Sustainable Development Goals written by C.Subbulakshmi and published by Shanlax Publications. This book was released on with total page 327 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: When the pandemic struck, family, education, and the economy all took a hit in terms of maintaining structural relationships. Even before the Pandemic, India's socio-cultural system had been facing numerous difficulties and changes as a result of political and economic forces, Corona. Religion, the economy, and the political system have all played important roles in changing the social structure. Nutrition is also a significant concern. Nutrition is a science that is engaged in the prevention and treatment of a wide range of infectious and non-infectious disorders. A well-balanced diet aids in the improvement of general public immunity and, as a result, aids in the prevention of infection. During covid -19 infection, there are numerous illness conditions or comorbidities that present a significant problem. As a result of the COVID-19 epidemic, our society has undergone a rapid and deep digital transition. The epidemic prompted us to make a historic digital shift in our daily lives and activities, including our children's educational transfer from traditional to digital classroom practise. COVID-19 has the potential to alter the education system, affecting teaching/learning, research/innovation, community service/engagement, and the experience of staff and students. Domestic violence, on the other hand, is an age-old social tragedy that has long been kept from society's gaze. Domestic abuse affects people from all walks of life, regardless of their social, economic, religious, or cultural backgrounds. Threats, name-calling, preventing communication with family or friends, withholding money, actual or threatened physical harm, and sexual assault are just some of the behaviours that might be used. In the agricultural industry, an estimated 10 million migrant workers returned to their home countries in 2020, following the enforcement of the lockdown. Agriculture and related sectors grew by 3.4 percent in 2020-21, despite the fact that global economic growth slowed to -7.2 percent. During the Covid-19 pandemic, the food supply mechanisms were thrown off. As a result, the farming community as well as the economy's most vulnerable sectors are impacted. The government, NGOs, and individuals have discovered that they can have a significant impact on the environment. Our government is always emphasising the need of drinking pure water, especially during this pandemic. But we are lacking in drinking water supply to all areas. Pure drinking water is a solution for keeping ourselves away from infectious diseases. This pandemic epidemic has had several negative consequences, including as an increase in medical waste, disinfectants, and the use of masks and gloves damaging the environment. In order to keep our ecosystem sustainable, suitable guidelines and planned measures must be applied to combat the epidemic and maintain environmental harmony. Covid-19's current predicament has thrown the world's socio-cultural structure, as well as its work culture, into disarray. The sanitary, safety, and health procedures have beyond any local culture's norms. To protect the world from the extremely infectious coronavirus, a new global culture has arisen. The use of facemasks, hand gloves, and hand sanitizers, as well as physical separation, has become the new normal. The present situation has given thrust to the virtual world and various steps have been taken by the government to increase the contactless experience.

Download or read book Handbook of Adhesion written by D. E. Packham and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2006-02-08 with total page 692 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This second edition of the successful Handbook of Adhesion provides concise and authoritative articles covering many aspects of the science and technology associated with adhesion and adhesives. It is intended to fill a gap between the necessarily simplified treatment of the student textbook and the full and thorough treatment of the research monograph and review article. The articles are structured in such a way, with internal cross-referencing and external literature references, that the reader can build up a broader and deeper understanding, as their needs require. This second edition includes many new articles covering developments which have risen in prominence in the intervening years, such as scanning probe techniques, the surface forces apparatus and the relation between adhesion and fractal surfaces. Advances in understanding polymer - polymer interdiffusion are reflected in articles drawing out the implications for adhesive bonding. In addition, articles derived from the earlier edition have been revised and updated where needed. Throughout the book there is a renewed emphasis on environmental implications of the use of adhesives and sealants. The scope of the Handbook, which features nearly 250 articles from over 60 authors, includes the background science - physics, chemistry and material science - and engineering, and also aspects of adhesion relevant to the use of adhesives, including topics such as: Sealants and mastics Paints and coatings Printing and composite materials Welding and autohesion Engineering design The Handbook of Adhesion is intended for scientists and engineers in both academia and industry, requiring an understanding of the various facets of adhesion.

Download or read book Adoption of LMS in Higher Educational Institutions of the Middle East written by Rashid A. Khan and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2020-07-28 with total page 99 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book discusses the adoption of learning management systems (LMS) in higher education institutions. It presents influential predictors that may impact instructors’ behavioral intention to adopt learning management systems in the context of Arab culture, as well as a unique model of technology acceptance that draws on and combines previous technology adoption models (i.e., a modified unified theory of acceptance and use of technology model – UTAUT2). Moreover, this study extends the UTAUT2 model by including Hofstede’s (1980) cultural dimensions, and technology awareness as the moderators of the model. It also describes the explanatory technique approach used to collect quantitative data from the instructors at higher education institutions in Saudi Arabia and were analyzed with structural equation modeling using SPSS/Amos software. The findings revealed that facilitating conditions were the strongest predictor of behavioral intention to adopt an LMS, followed by performance expectancy and hedonic motivation, technology awareness, and cultural dimensions exerted a moderating influence on instructors’ behavioral intention to use LMS in their teaching. By including new constructs, this becomes the first study of its kind exploring instructors’ use of LMS in Higher Educational Institutions of Saudi Arabia and other countries of the Middle East. It offers practical insights for a broad range of researchers and professionals at higher education institutions and serves as a reference guide for designers of learning management systems (e.g., blackboard systems), policymakers, and the Ministry of Education staff.
