Book excerpt: One day, while I was busy trying to figure out how to make a "living," selling the "notion" of God and his Son Jesus Christ, I "stumbled" into the reality of him. I have been astounded ever since. Jesus Christ gave me the gift of his own Spirit living in my own heart and soul. That Spirit told me that he would tell me the answer to any question that I had in my heart if I would write his answer down so that I do not forget or change that answer. This book is the answer to my own questions to God in the same order that they were given. Nothing was changed, just my own mistakes in the writing. Every single word is true and is just common sense to a soul. To everyone else, it is unbelievable.

Book excerpt: The author, Samuel Abraham, was fascinated by the study of the Scriptures as his spiritual mentor helped him see that the Bible gives a more satisfying understanding of the origins of life, human civilization and language than philosophical materialism. Along the way, he discovered the uncanny nature of Bible prophecy and how God, through His prophets, predicted human history, provided a way for human redemption, and laid out a positive outcome for humankind. The author’s sometimes-novel explanations of Scripture and science will leave the reader thinking. The book is his gift of love to others who may be troubled with the same concerns so they will recognize the veracity of the Bible, God’s Holy Word.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Most of the Old Testament is devoted to the story of the Nation chosen by God through whom the Messiah would come into the world to bless all nations. The New Testament is devoted to the story of the man that nation produced and how his life, death, and resurrection give hope to sinful humanity through his kingdom. We see the genealogy of the man Jesus tracing his lineage from God through Abraham (Matthew 1:1). John the baptizer spoke of the kingdom being at hand and the one who would come after him who would baptize with the Holy Spirit. That one was Jesus Christ. He told his apostles that he would die, but he would be raised from the dead after three days; and after his resurrection, he would send the Spirit of truth, which the Father had promised them. And they would be baptized with the Holy Spirit. He told them that they would not be alone and helpless in the world. He said that he would send them a helper, a teacher, and a comforter to sustain and assist them in carrying out the church's mission. He called this helper the Holy Spirit. It would be the Holy Spirit's purpose to guide them into all truth and to remind them of all that Jesus had said and done. He instructed them to wait in Jerusalem until they had received the promise of the Father (Acts1:3-5, 1:8). All the Old Testament prophecies and promises came to fruition as recorded in the second chapter of Acts. The apostles were waiting just as Jesus had told them to wait. It was on the day of Pentecost in the city of Jerusalem (approximately AD 33) that the apostles were baptized with the Holy Spirit. They were immersed in the Holy Spirit. They were overwhelmed with the Holy Spirit""and they spoke the words of salvation through Jesus Christ to all nations (Acts 2:1-4).

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Holy Spirit has become a greater focus for attention in Trinitarian theology and in the life of the western church since the rise of Pentecostalism at the beginning of the twentieth century. Different understandings of the Holy Spirit have impacted worship in a variety of ways. This book looks at look at surprising overlaps in the thinking about relationship between the Holy Spirit and worship between two radically different traditions of the church, represented by John Owen, from the seventeenth century in England, and John Zizioulas, from the twentieth/twenty-first century in Greece. Four threads of argument are identified, flowing from the unexpected overlap between these two thinkers, that are of value for the church today. The first is the personal and relational nature of the Triune God, drawing the human person into a deeper sense of relational identity. The second is the immediacy of the encounter with God through the Holy Spirit in worship. The third is the way in which the Holy Spirit leads people into truth. The fourth is the transformative nature of the encounter with God in worship, which draws people into sharing God's purpose for the transformation of the world.
