Book Synopsis Design Guide for Concrete-filled Double Skin Steel Tubular Structures by : Lin-Hai Han
Download or read book Design Guide for Concrete-filled Double Skin Steel Tubular Structures written by Lin-Hai Han and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2018-10-12 with total page 113 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This is the first design guide on concrete filled double skin steel tubular (CFDST) structures. It addresses in particular CFDST structures with plain concrete sandwiched between circular hollow sections, and provides the relevant calculation methods and construction provisions for CFDST structures. These inherit the advantages of conventional concrete-filled steel tubular (CFST) structures, including high strength, good ductility and durability, high fire resistance and favourable constructability. Moreover, because of their unique sectional configuration, CFDST structures have been proved to possess lighter weight, higher bending stiffness and better cyclic performance than conventional CFST. Consequently CFDST can offer reduced concrete consumption and construction costs. This design guide is for engineers designing electrical grid infrastructures, wind power towers, bridge piers and other structures requiring light self-weight, high bending stiffness and high bearing capacity.

Book Synopsis Cold-formed Tubular Members and Connections by : Greg Hancock
Download or read book Cold-formed Tubular Members and Connections written by Greg Hancock and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2005-08-17 with total page 255 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Cold formed structural members are being used more widely in routine structural design as the world steel industry moves from the production of hot-rolled section and plate to coil and strip, often with galvanised and/or painted coatings. Steel in this form is more easily delivered from the steel mill to the manufacturing plant where it is usually cold-rolled into open and closed section members. This book not only summarises the research performed to date on cold form tubluar members and connections but also compares design rules in various standards and provides practical design examples.
