Book excerpt: This twisting tale, the sequel to the author’s Ring Around the Sun, takes Coot Boldt and Narlow Montgomery back to their childhood in the wilds of the Tularosa Basin of southern New Mexico Territory and west Texas. The story tracks their days tending Papa’s goats, and Narlow’s war with his copper-lined, half-Pale Eye-half-Comanche mama. The boys lived with the Apaches for two years where Narlow studied the mysteries of the medicineman. As young men, they enjoyed successes in ranching and land sales in El Paso, a dusty adobe village known for whiskey, shot-dead men on its streets, soiled doves, and rigged roulette wheels. Both their marriages went sour, and though Coot went on, Narlow was stuck with a wife who never allowed the consummation of their vows. All those months Narlow brushed off Coot’s advice to take up with a widow-lady, but during a trip to San Francisco, he fell into the clutches of a wealthy actress who demanded that he return home and divorce his wife. He refused, though he did return to El Paso and become the town drunk. Finally, he was convinced by his father and Coot to seek the solitude of a cave where, as a child, he had played with his father, a man who made sawhorses with straw-stuffed sock heads, eyes drawn with charcoal, and read the great books to his son. Narlow won his battle over the bottle. Includes Readers Guide.

Book Synopsis Evolution to the superhuman and prison-less community of the type 1 civilization. by :
Download or read book Evolution to the superhuman and prison-less community of the type 1 civilization. written by and published by aquillone. This book was released on with total page 150 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: According to the rate of development of our technology, we are about to enter the next stage of cultural and social evolution. Highly developed civilizations are classified into three types namely Type 1, Type 2, and Type 3. We are moving towards the type 1 civilization. The greatest feature of Type 1 civilization is that we can meet all our energy needs with the help of solar energy. If we can fully utilize solar energy, we will have the energy we need for free. This will greatly strengthen our economic structure. Because of this, the growth of our technology will get accelerated tenfold. This is both a boon and a bane for us. Technology will take us to greater heights. At the same time, these same technologies will cause our total destruction. Therefore, the whole world needs to become a like-minded society. So this book mainly discusses how we should change socially and culturally under the new circumstances. We also discuss how to build a sustainable human society. We are passing through a situation where hostilities between many countries can turn into war at any time. At the same time, separatists and extremists are on the rise within many countries. In such a situation it is a great danger if we enter a Type 1 civilization. Therefore, this book is mainly about finding a way to solve all the problems that exist on Earth today. Despite being rich in natural resources, many countries are in the depths of poverty. We can overcome this if we have a transparent society and governance system. The first thing we need to do is to become a socially conscious people. If every man becomes socially responsible, the earth will be peaceful. It is the responsibility of our rulers to mold such a society. Therefore, we are also discussing the need for a transparent governance system. Terrorism has become so strong in the world because of the competition between two superpower countries. You can also see in this book the need to avoid this competition. All human beings have a duty to create a peaceful earth. This book is my humble contribution to that end. Hope you will find it useful too.
