Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: I have been through various issues in life that often left me broken, discouraged and confused. My life was unfolding before me like a drama. This was both before and after I gave my life to Jesus. But then, the more I walked with God the more I realized how valuable my past experiences were to my current ministry. Through the difficult moments, the message in the book of Psalm 23 became my daily anthem, and I kept wondering, why verse four, which talks of Passing through the Valley of Shadow of Death, was included in the chapter. Through it all, I realized that God did not promise to remove the Valley from our lives. Instead, He committed to walking with us right through it. After I knew this, I began to go through life without fear, and with a high sense of focus and purpose. This book is a product of the experiences that God took me through. It teaches about the various hardships of life and how to go through them without forgetting that God is involved in everything that happens in our lives. God neither sleeps nor slumbers. Nothing passes Him unawares. Think of accidents, acts of terrorism, storms, disease and sickness, or even death, He is very much aware. The question is, are you in Him, or are you outside of Him? If you are not in Him, I challenge you to start by repenting using the prayer to salvation I shared in this book and your life will be safe. One of the key lessons you will learn from this book is how to prepare for the hardships that life will send your way. Secondly, you will learn how receiving Christ Jesus, transforms you into more than a conqueror. Remember, Jesus already won the battle for you long before you started facing it. Jesus went through the same sufferings you are facing today. Just as Jesus was glorified even through the tribulations and sufferings that He went through, you will also be glorified after going through the Valley Experience. As the body of Christ, our promise is that we shall be glorified like Jesus was glorified. Therefore, be encouraged in the knowledge that what you are going through right now cannot be compared to the glory that shall be revealed in you. Read through this book with an open heart, listen to the Holy Spirit speak and you will never be the same again. About the Author Racheal Mahugu is a born again Gospel Minister commissioned by the Master Jesus Christ to preach the good news of salvation to all. She is also a Banker, a Worshiper, a Counselor and a Mother. She is passionate about the welfare of the Nations, the Environment, the Family, and Young People. Racheal would like to see the body of Christ live authentic Christian life full of Integrity, Holiness, Righteousness, Perseverance, Victory and Maturity.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: “The most powerful spiritual healer, fixer, teacher on the planet.” —Oprah Winfrey Is it the job you hate but need in order to pay the rent? Is it that relationship that you gave your all to only to end up with a broken heart...again? Perhaps it's your children, a family member, or a life-long friend doing you in, dragging you down, pushing you to the brink. If you are an honorary member of the Black Woman's Suffering Society, you have probably been told that it's all your fault. Or that struggling and suffering is your lot in life. Iyanla Vanzant says, No! Life is an Act of Faith and suffering is optional! Those everyday challenges, obstacles, and dilemmas are what Iyanla calls "valleys." As bad as they may seem, there is a purpose or, as Iyanla says, "There is so much value in the valley." If you've ever been disappointed, betrayed, rejected, abandoned, or just plain old scared to let go, then you've been or may still be in a valley. Iyanla knows—she's been there and on a bad day she's still there, but now she shares the way out with you.

Book excerpt: *Named one of Wall Street Journal's Best Books of 2015 *Selected as a Military Times's Best Book of the Year “You’re going up the Valley.” Black didn’t know its name, but he knew it lay deeper and higher than any other place Americans had ventured. You had to travel through a network of interlinked valleys, past all the other remote American outposts, just to get to its mouth. Everything about the place was myth and rumor, but one fact was clear: There were many valleys in the mountains of Afghanistan, and most were hard places where people died hard deaths. But there was only one Valley. It was the farthest, and the hardest, and the worst. When Black, a deskbound admin officer, is sent up the Valley to investigate a warning shot fired by a near-forgotten platoon, he can only see it as the final bureaucratic insult in a short and unhappy Army career. What he doesn’t know is that his investigation puts at risk the centuries-old arrangements that keep this violent land in fragile balance, and will launch a shattering personal odyssey of obsession and discovery as Black reckons with the platoon’s dark secrets, accumulated over endless hours fighting and dying in defense of an indefensible piece of land. The Valley is a riveting tour de force that changes our understanding of the men who fight our wars and announces John Renehan as one of the great American storytellers of our time.

Book excerpt: Lord, do you not care if we perish? That's what the frightened disciples shouted to Jesus as he slept in the stern of a storm-tossed boat. In the midst of suffering and uncertainty, we're all prone to think that God has forgotten us, he doesn't care, or he's powerless to do anything. And that's true of us in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. In Christ and Calamity, Harold L. Senkbeil speaks pastorally to our suffering and uncertainty. Senkbeil shows God's constant and faithful grace to us. With Paul he encourages us: "Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you" (1 Thess 5:16-18). Calamities come in many different sizes, and God addresses them all in his word and by his Spirit. Even when we don't see or feel it, God is always faithful. "If I dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea, even there your hand shall lead me, and your right hand shall hold me" (Ps 139:9-10). The disciples' faith in the midst of the storm may have been weak, but Jesus was mighty to save. And he will save you, too. No matter how small your faith, you can count on him to hear your anguished cry and to answer.

Book excerpt: Half a century ago a rag-tag group of innovators was building a foundation for modern American rock climbing from a makeshift home base in Yosemite. Photographer Glen Denny was a key figure in this golden age of climbing, capturing pioneering feats on camera while tackling challenging ascents himself. In entertaining short pieces enlivened by his iconic black-and-white images of Yosemite's big wall legends, Denny reveals a young man's coming of age and provides a vivid look at Yosemite’s early climbing culture. He relates such precarious achievements as hauling water in glass gallon jugs up the east face of Washington Column, nailing the 750-foot Rostrum in a punishing heat wave, and dangling overnight on El Capitan’s Dihedral Wall in a lightning storm. Each true tale captures the spirit of historic Camp 4, where Denny and others plan the next big climb while living on the cheap and dodging park rangers.

Book excerpt: In My Valley, Claude Ponti leads us on a journey through an enchanted world inhabited by "Touims" (tiny, adorable, monkey-like creatures), secret tree dwellings, flying buildings, and sad giants. Clever language and beautifully detailed maps of imaginary landscapes will delight children and adults alike. Ponti himself has said, "My stories are like fairytales, always situated in the marvelous, speaking to the interior life and emotions of children. That way each child can get what they want out of the images: the characters and dreams are their own."
