Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Mme. Blavatsky's famous transcribed messages from beyond, the mysterious "Book of Dzyan," the heart of the sacred books of Kie-te, are said once to have been known only to Tibetan mystics. Quotations from Dzyan form the core of her closely-argued "The Secret Doctrine," the most influential single book of occult knowledge to emerge from the last century. The text of the book you hold reproduces nearly all of "Book of Dzyan" that Blavatsky transcribed. It also includes long excerpts from her Secret Doctrine as well as from the Society of Psychical Research's 1885 report concerning phenomena witnessed by members of the Theosophical Society. There are notes and additional shorter materials. Editor Maroney's biographical essay starts off the book, a fascinating portrait of an amazing woman.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: THE following pages are derived from "The Book of the Golden Precepts," one of the works put into the hands of mystic students in the East. The knowledge of them is obligatory in that school, the teachings of which are accepted by many Theosophists. Therefore, as I know many of these Precepts by heart, the work of translating has been relatively an easy task for me. It is well known that, in India, the methods of psychic development differ with the Gurus (teachers or masters), not only because of their belonging to different schools of philosophy, of which there are six, but because every Guru has his own system, which he generally keeps very secret. But beyond the Himalayas the method in the Esoteric Schools does not differ, unless the Guru is simply a Lama, but little more learned than those he teaches. The work from which I here translate forms part of the same series as that from which the "Stanzas" of the Book of Dzyan were taken, on which the Secret Doctrine is based. Together with the great mystic work called Paramartha, which, the legend of Nagarjuna tells us, was delivered to the great Arhat by the Nagas or "Serpents" (in truth a name given to the ancient Initiates), the Book of the Golden Precepts claims the same origin. Yet its maxims and ideas, however noble and original, are often found under different forms in Sanskrit works, such as the Dnyaneshvari, that superb mystic treatise in which Krishna describes to Arjuna in glowing colors the condition of a fully illumined Yogi; and again in certain Upanishads. This is but natural, since most, if not all, of the greatest Arhats, the first followers of Gautama Buddha were Hindus and Aryans, not Mongolians, especially those who emigrated into Tibet. The works left by Aryasanga alone are very numerous.

Book excerpt: From the moment we emerge into the world as an infant we begin a journey of experience. We all share the desire to be happy. In this journey we will all experience emotional and physical pain and the loss of what we love. How we meet our losses and pains will determine the amount of peace we have in our lives. If we meet them as the hardened warrior or the defeated victim we live from survival and peace escapes us. In Medicine of One, Lomakayu, spiritual teacher, Soul Dreamer, and the originator of primordial movements for emotional healing, offers us a path to spiritual awareness, self-compassion and freedom that is as simple as a Circle. Using his own unique teachings, personal experience, and poetic language, he shares a path that will enliven, bring clarity, inspire, and fulfill you no matter where you are in life. Allow yourself to open the pages of Medicine of One ... breathe in the words ... and slowly grasp all you can from what is written. You will find yourself in a Circle full of deep understanding and self compassion.

Book excerpt: Who are we? What is the purpose of life? How do we actualize our potential? These are questions that thoughtful people have asked since time immemorial. Evolution of the Higher Consciousness is a comprehensive study of the teachings of H. P. Blavatsky on these issues.Madame Blavatsky, cofounder of the Theosophical Society, was the pioneer of the esoteric renaissance that took place at the end of the nineteenth century. Ever since, her writings have served as a foundational source for modern spirituality. In his book, Pablo Sender presents Blavatsky's profound but frequently puzzling statements systematically and in clear, concise language. He throws light on the nature of our spiritual essence, its evolutionary unfoldment, and the work that we can do in daily life to consciously participate in this cosmic journey. The first part of the book examines the metaphysics and philosophy of the human constitution and consciousness. It offers a fresh and profound paradigm for understanding oneself and the purpose of life. The second part focuses on the practical application of this esoteric worldview. It offers powerful exercises that lead to self-knowledge through meditation and awareness of everyday activities. This unique combination of metaphysical insight and daily practice enables the reader to gain a deeper perspective on life and to bring spirituality to the mundane.

Book excerpt: The present volume contains commentary in the form of question & answer on the fundamental teachings of Theosophy by Helena Petrovna Blavatsky, author of "The Secret Doctrine" and co-founder of the Theosophical Society. From the Foreword: The following transactions are compiled from shorthand notes taken at the meetings of the Blavatsky Lodge of the Theosophical Society, from January 10th to June 20th, 1889, being somewhat condensed from the original discussions. "The Secret Doctrine" being based upon the archaic stanzas of the "Book of Dzyan," and these being too abstruse for most of the new students of Exoteric philosophy, the members of the "B.L. of the T. S." agreed to devote the debates of the weekly meetings to each stanza and sundry other metaphysical subjects. The questions were put by members who, for the most part, supported their objections and exceptions on modern scientific grounds, and assumed logical deductions based thereon. As such objections are generally the common property of students of "The Secret Doctrine," it has been judged unnecessary to incorporate them in full, so that their substance alone has been retained. The answers in all cases are based on the shorthand Reports, and are those of Esoteric Philosophy as given by H. P. B. herself.
