This much, however, is certain - that the Oriental ardor and sensuousness of the young Prince, as expressed in these sonnets, are such as to rank him among the(world's greatest lover di to corroborate to some extent the theory, at this ancient people and the early Asiatics were closely similar in temperament at least, and that in allprobability the latter were much indebted to the former for their civilization, popular belief to the contrary notwithstanding.
