Download or read book The Christian's Warfare written by Francis L. Davis and published by Xulon Press. This book was released on 2008-05 with total page 226 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: THE CHRISTIAN'S WARFARE: IT'S A FAMILY AFFAIR As you read this book, you will come to see that victory over the obstacles we face in life is not just about His power or His presence but about your Positioning. Christ has promised us His power just as he has promised us His presence, but He leaves it up to us to be PROPERLY POSITIONED in certain areas in order that we might gain the victory. These areas are: Living successfully as Singles in a sex-crazed society Husbands loving their wives as Christ loved the church. Wives submitting to and reverencing their husbands Children obeying and honoring their parents Fathers not provoking their children to anger and discouragement Men becoming providers and not pimps in their home FRANCIS L. DAVIS is the pastor/founder of West End Bibleway Christian Fellowship in New Iberia, Louisiana. He is a passionate Teacher of the Word of God whose giftedness is not in how much he knows, but in his ability to make plain, and simple and exciting God's truths. His next book, which will soon be available, is entitled: The Misbehaving Church. "This book acquaints the Saints with proper positioning strategies by providing us with a means to inspect what we expect based on God's expectations for each of us. It addresses a basic premise, that behavior follows belief over a protracted period of time. Reformation can never truly change behavior, transformation of one's belief system is required to behave differently. Misbehavior is a reflection of "mis-believing." Many in the Kingdom will be blessed through this work. Thank you Pastor Davis for obeying the Spirit." Book Synopsis Five Views on Sanctification by : Melvin E. Dieter
Download or read book Five Views on Sanctification written by Melvin E. Dieter and published by Zondervan Academic. This book was released on 2011-04-19 with total page 260 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Christians generally recognize the need to live a holy, or sanctified, life. But they differ on what sanctification is and how it is achieved. How does one achieve sanctification in this life? How much success in sanctification is possible? Is a crisis experience following one's conversion normal--or necessary? If so, what kind of experience, and how is it verified? Five Views on Sanctification--part of the Counterpoints series--brings together in one easy-to-understand volume five major Protestant views on sanctification: Wesleyan View – represented by Melvin E. Dieter Reformed View – represented by Anthony A. Hoekema Pentecostal View – represented by Stanley M. Horton Keswick View – represented by J. Robertson McQuilkin Augustinian-Dispensationalism View – represented by John F. Walvoord Writing from a solid evangelical stance, each author describes and defends his own understanding of the doctrine sanctification and then responds to the views of the other authors. The Counterpoints series presents a comparison and critique of scholarly views on topics important to Christians that are both fair-minded and respectful of the biblical text. Each volume is a one-stop reference that allows readers to evaluate the different positions on a specific issue and form their own, educated opinion.

Book Synopsis The Wealth, Walk and Warfare of the Christian by : Ruth Paxson
Download or read book The Wealth, Walk and Warfare of the Christian written by Ruth Paxson and published by Book Ministry. This book was released on 2011-11-27 with total page 153 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Author’s Note This book does not purport to be an exposition of Ephesians verse by verse, or doctrine by doctrine. Some rich nuggets out of this vast gold mine will not be dug up at all, but left for you to mine for yourself. The book will deal with the content of the epistle rather than its contents. The message will be distinctly personal, for it is written of what one’s eyes have seen and ears beard, and what has entered into one’s own heart of all those wondrous things which God has prepared for them that love Him. If this message stimulates you to dig deep and to dwell deep in Ephesians, then the most fervent prayer for it will have been answered. The message purposely will be practical. Our desire is to show the essential order in and connection between the first three chapters, which deal with doctrine, and the last three, which deal with experience. We shall see in Ephesians how our wealth is to be manifested in our walk and maintained in our warfare.

Book Synopsis The Marrow of Certainty by : Chun Tse
Download or read book The Marrow of Certainty written by Chun Tse and published by Vandenhoeck & Ruprecht. This book was released on 2023-06-12 with total page 303 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Assurance was a central issue for the eminent Scottish theologian-pastor Thomas Boston long before it emerged as a focal point of the theological debate in the Marrow Controversy. In The Marrow of Certainty, Chun Tse presents the first full-length study of Boston's theology of assurance in six dimensions: trinitarian, covenantal, Christological, soteriological, ecclesiastical, and sacramental. This work not only furnishes the first-ever intellectual biography of Boston in his Scottish context and controversies, but it also cross-studies the theology of the Marrow of Modern Divinity with Boston's notes. This research argues that Boston's doctrine of assurance centres on union and communion with Christ, the architectonic principle of his theology. The book challenges the common conception that Boston's theology merely follows Calvin, the Scots Confession, the Marrow, the Westminster Standards, and Scottish federalism. Boston, most strikingly, holds in tension assurance as intrinsic to faith—itself a gift from God's sovereignty in election—while insisting on self-examination as a human responsibility. This salient mark of his doctrine of assurance originates from his assertion that Christ died for the elect alone but all—elect or not—have the warrant to receive Christ. As such, assurance is, theologically, a divine gift and, pastorally, a human endeavour. Certainty is thus both extra nos and intra nos. Boston, this study reveals, has a potent and enduring power to speak on the perennial issue of assurance, rooted in the person of Christ, whom he considers as being the covenant itself.
Book Synopsis Spiritual Warfare with the Saints by : Wyatt North
Download or read book Spiritual Warfare with the Saints written by Wyatt North and published by Wyatt North Publishing, LLC. This book was released on 2021-08-09 with total page 48 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Christian writer, C.S. Lewis once made the point that people tend to either obsess over demons or deny their existence entirely-and the devil is equally pleased either way. The Bible is clear. Our battle is not with flesh and blood but with spiritual forces (Eph. 6:12). At the same time, however, the Bible makes it clear that the evil forces, devils and demons, are powerless in comparison to God. If God is for us, who can be against us? Even the demons shudder in the presence of God (James 2:19).

Book Synopsis The Glory Now Revealed by : Andrew M. Davis
Download or read book The Glory Now Revealed written by Andrew M. Davis and published by Baker Books. This book was released on 2021-10-19 with total page 204 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Believers know that when we die we enter heaven and will spend eternity there with God and the saints who have gone before us. But what actually happens in heaven? What are we going to be doing there? Won't it get boring at some point? According to Scripture, a large part of our experience of heaven will be a continual revealing of God's glory. Not just his glory in the moment, but during all of time. The mysteries of providence, the hidden movements of God throughout history, and the forgotten and unnoted works of even the most obscure of God's people will be unveiled so that we can see how wise, loving, gracious, and powerful our God is. And though we will experience perfection in heaven, we will never be omniscient, which means we will always be learning more about God's glory, inspiring us to return joyful praise and thanksgiving. If your vision of heaven has been limited to clouds and harps and angels, it's time to expand that view with the truth found in this biblically based look at the afterlife.
