Like Ruth in the Old Testament, every Gentile believer has come out of the land of famine and into the spiritual realm of abundance in the name of Jesus. But unlike Ruth, we have turned our backs on the Jewish people, the relatives of the Messiah. We need to confess personally and corporately on behalf of the Church for centuries of persecution of the Jewish people, looking in these days for every opportunity to bless and not curse them. Once again, Israel and her people are center stage at a crucial moment in world history, and this book shows why the Church must effect reconciliation and why our prayers are vital in this hour. If we will make the same covenent pledge to Israel that Ruth made to Naomi, the Church will never be the same!

Book excerpt: The Greatness of God's Mercy is used to bring to focus the infinite mercy of God, which is not readily recognized as His omnipotence from the evidence of Creation. However, Divine mercy can be recognized from the evidences which spring from God's relationship with man. The Book of Isaiah calls attention to the evidences as mirrored from God's relationship with Israel. The strongest evidence of Divine mercy is the existence of Israel as a nation. But Isaiah reminds mankind that a day of reckoning shall surely come The burden of his message is, therefore, that we respond to Divine mercy now! Rev. Russell is also the author of Understanding God's Sovereignty, 28 Steps To Eternity, The Exceeding Riches of His Grace, Footprints In The Wilderness, Theo-Cosmos, and The Grand Unification Theology (The Scientific Evidence of Creation)

This book was released on 2000 with total page 242 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The prophet Brigham Young taught the restored gospel of Jesus Christ in a basic, practical way that gave inspiration and hope to the Saints struggling to build a home in the wilderness. Though more than a century has now passed, his words are still fresh and appropriate for us today as we continue the work of building the kingdom of God. President Young declared that as members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints we possess the “doctrine of life and salvation for all the honest-in-heart” (DBY, 7). He promised that those who receive the gospel in their hearts will have awakened “within them a desire to know and understand the things of God more than they ever did before in their lives” and will begin to “inquire, read and search and when they go to their Father in the name of Jesus he will not leave them without a witness” (DBY, 450). This book reflects the desire of the First Presidency and the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles to deepen the doctrinal understanding of Church members and to awaken within them a greater desire to know the things of God. It will inspire and motivate individuals, priesthood quorums, and Relief Society classes to inquire, read, search, and then go to their Father in Heaven for a witness of the truth of these teachings. Each chapter contains two sections—“Teachings of Brigham Young” and “Suggestions for Study.” The first section consists of extracts from Brigham Young’s sermons to the early Saints. Each statement has been referenced, and the original spelling and punctuation have been preserved; however, the sources cited will not be readily available to most members. These original sources are not necessary to have in order to effectively study or teach from this book. Members need not purchase additional references and commentaries to study or teach these chapters. The text provided in this book, accompanied by the scriptures, is sufficient for instruction. Members should prayerfully read and study President Young’s teachings in order to gain new insights into gospel principles and discover how those principles apply to their everyday lives. By faithfully and prayerfully studying these selections, Latter-day Saints will have a greater understanding of gospel principles and will more fully appreciate the profound and inspired teachings of this great prophet. The second section of each chapter offers a series of questions that will encourage thoughtful contemplation, personal application, and discussion of President Young’s teachings. Members should refer to and carefully reread his words on the principle being discussed. Deep and prayerful study of these teachings will inspire members to greater personal commitment and will help them resolve to follow the teachings of the Savior, Jesus Christ. If individuals and families prayerfully follow the principles in this book, they will be blessed and inspired to greater dedication and spirituality, as were the early Saints who heard these words directly from the lips of the “Lion of the Lord” (HC, 7:434)—the prophet, seer, and revelator, President Brigham Young.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The popular Left Behind series by Tim LaHaye and Jerry Jenkins has sold more than 62 million copies since the first volume appeared in 1995. Jerry Falwell pronounced it the most important series of books in the history of modern Christianity. Many readers have assumed it gives the true facts about the way the world will end and what will happen to all the people in it. But according to real biblical scholarship, this series is seriously flawed. Based on a misreading of many scriptures, including Daniel and the Book of Revelation, it has fed a kind of hysteria in the Christian populace that has led many people to reorder their existence in expectation of an impending doom and the sudden, unexpected return of Jesus. In this book, William Powell Tuck carefully and authoritatively refutes the premises and faulty theology of the Left Behind books, critiquing them in the light of genuine biblical scholarship and common sense.

Book excerpt: As the biblical clock counts down, the destinies of Israel and the Church are converging. As God's people, both Jew and Gentile, make themselves ready as his warrior bride, Christians will face increasing spiritual warfare that intersects with warfare in the natural realm. Sandra Teplinsky calls Jewish believers to stand firm in these times of intensified opposition and make themselves ready as the bride of Christ. Israel's Anointing encourages believers to take up the biblical mandate to make Israel jealous, to help God's chosen people see this company of militant lovers in whose midst Yeshua dwells--and want him at last. Anyone with a love for Israel and an eye toward the end times will connect with this powerful book.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: “The testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy” (Rev 19:10) and a prophetic perspective promotes purpose. Yet in a world swiftly growing callous, true purpose and meaning are fading. Many of Jesus’ disciples today have “lost their first love,” which is Jesus himself (Rev 2:4). And too many souls overall miss the wonder, inspiration, and comfort gained by those who would endeavor toward fuller comprehension of the book of Revelation: “Blessed are they who read and those who hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written in it; for the time is near” (Rev 1:3). Neglect of the Holy Spirit, slothfulness, fear, and the ongoing confusion generated by competing interpretations and bad theology are the primary obstacles between an individual and the liberation to be had by reading the last book of the Bible. We must not forget that while the apostle John wrote the book of Revelation, its author is Jesus Christ, and he is not an author of confusion but of peace (1 Cor 14:33). This commentary presents a practical, discipleship-based perspective toward following Jesus into the very heart of his Revelation. So as the end of this clamorous age approaches, may we truly hear what the Spirit is saying to the churches!

Book excerpt: An angry prophet. A feared and loathsome enemy. A devastating storm. And the surprising message of a merciful God to his people. The story of Jonah is one of the most well-known parables in the Bible. It is also the most misunderstood. Many people, even those who are nonreligious, are familiar with Jonah: A rebellious prophet who defies God and is swallowed by a whale. But there's much more to Jonah's story than most of us realize. In The Prodigal Prophet, pastor and New York Times bestselling author Timothy Keller reveals the hidden depths within the book of Jonah. Keller makes the case that Jonah was one of the worst prophets in the entire Bible. And yet there are unmistakably clear connections between Jonah, the prodigal son, and Jesus. Jesus in fact saw himself in Jonah. How could one of the most defiant and disobedient prophets in the Bible be compared to Jesus? Jonah's journey also doesn't end when he is freed from the belly of the fish. There is an entire second half to his story--but it is left unresolved within the text of the Bible. Why does the book of Jonah end on what is essentially a cliffhanger? In these pages, Timothy Keller provides an answer to the extraordinary conclusion of this biblical parable--and shares the powerful Christian message at the heart of Jonah's story.
