But if sixty-six books seem overwhelming, The Owner’s Manual for Christians is the perfect starting place: a biblical summary of the major truths that anchor the Christian life. From grace to freedom, these chapters walk the reader through the keys to a life well lived?drawn from the Creator of life itself. Life is often confusing, but it does not have to be impossible. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Let the Communion Commence: Lighthearted Reflections on the Heart of God for Humanity is a humble effort by a long-time Christian public educator and traveler to use his somewhat unique style and experiences to communicate to his graduating students, and to anyone else who might “come along for the read,” the wonders of a life-consuming relationship with God. Much of the content is also inspired by reflections on the sacrament of Communion, and thus the book may be of interest to a broader audience than just to graduates embarking on the next stage of life. Part one of the book seeks to introduce the Christian faith to those who may be unfamiliar with the Gospel message—that the Author and Creator of the Universe seeks communion, or a personal relationship, with anyone willing to embrace the death, resurrection, and Lordship of Jesus Christ in order to receive salvation from the consequences of disobedience to God. Part two encourages lifelong enrollment in the class of learning to be like Jesus Christ in preparation for becoming citizens of, and for introducing others into, the Kingdom of God. Finally, part three of Let the Communion Commence reflects on the ultimate commencement—the beginning of never-ending life in the presence of our Creator. Class is about to begin. Please join me.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Every group is a medley of unique individuals that share a common interest. As the group forms, meets, practices, and develops their identity and skills, certain words (like nicknames) are made up, that allow for the common identi?cation of certain things that are important to the group. As a result, a group-speci?c jargon is developed. In, for example, a surfing group, learning Surferese becomes part of the initiation process. Mastering the group-specific jargon provides the newer member a feeling of accomplishment and pride. When outsiders overhear you, they may now be able to identify you as one of those Surfers. Being identi?ed provides you with confirmation that your efforts have not been in vain. But Christianity is not a hobby or a club. Your eternal destiny is changed for the better by joining and continuing. For this reason, at this critical juncture, no new believer in Christ should be driven away or alienated by some human-made jargon. So, in A Handbook for New Christian Believers: Including the Glossary of Christianese,, the new believer is supplied with a listing of most of the jargon words and their detailed de?nitions. This may be the ?rst time such a listing with de?nitions has been provided, so please take advantage and familiarize yourself with this handbook and the glossary. You will acquire the knowledge you need to quickly enable and ease the process of (1) getting to know your God and Savior, Jesus Christ, and (2) ?tting in with the members of your church.

Book excerpt: It is often said that the journey of a thousand miles begins with the very first step. Sometimes people who set out on a journey fail to get to their destination, either because of an accident, or other unforeseen circumstances. Just as it is in the physical realm, so also it is in the spiritual. Inviting Jesus into their lives is the first step in the Christian journey for new believers. The purpose of this book, YOUR NEW LIFE, is to ensure that they arrive at their 'destination' safely. God is not only interested in seeing souls saved He wants them established in the faith. This is the very essence of YOUR NEW LIFE. Inspired by the Holy Spirit, the book has been written out of a strong desire to see new believers established in their walk with God. It is to help them get to grips with their faith in Christ and to go on to maturity. For more mature Christians, the book enables them to explain the basic foundation of the Christian life in the uttermost simplicity. In Matthew 28: 18-20, Jesus told His disciples that they should go and make disciples of all men and teach them to obey His commands. And in John 15:16, Jesus said that we did not choose Him, but He has chosen and appointed us that we should go and bear fruit, and that our fruit should remain, that whatever we ask the Father in His name, He will give to us. He was giving to His disciples final instructions in relation to how to build people spiritually in the church. On the subject of church life, there are countless books that have been published, many seminars to attend and church conferences arranged. The 'Body of Christ' is not devoid of teaching in relation to what the church needs and much of it is excellent revelation and we need to thank God that we live in a day when such teaching is readily available. Having acknowledged that, we must never forget the words Jesus said to His disciples in those final moments - 'make disciples and teach them to obey my commands'. This suggests that people are not born disciples, but that they need to enter a process by which they will become disciples. Jesus knew the importance and impact of a life touching another life. Therefore it is vital that we who have already submitted our own will and are true disciples give ourselves to the process of building people, so that they in turn will do the same to others. We were not told to gather a crowd and use techniques of the day to accomplish that aim; this is not about how many people we gather on a Sunday but how effective we are in making people true followers of Jesus Christ. This is what YOUR NEW LIFE is about, making people disciples and true followers of Jesus Christ. Ngozi Okike is a woman who all her life has understood these principles. Before she penned anything in this manual she has lived through it and tested it in her own life. Her desire is to see the 'Body of Christ' built up and a lifestyle to begin the moment a person surrenders his/her life to Christ, so that it will ultimately produce true discipleship in their lives. Because of her deep conviction and belief that a person should be taught to lean upon the Lord and know what He is commanding us to do she has given us (the Church) this tool by which we can achieve this objective in people's lives. You will find that YOUR NEW LIFE is a very basic manual written in plain easy to understand language so as not to alienate anyone from the truth. Ngozi herself is very educated, yet she has been able to communicate life-changing principles in a style that all will understand. It is her sincere desire that any new believer who gets hold of this book will not be in any doubt as to what the Christian life entails. Ngozi prays that every believer who reads this book will go on to maturity and help others find Christ. Every church, Christian group or organization that is passionate about seeing souls saved and nurtured in the faith should find this book an invaluable tool.
