Following the success of The Complete Language of Herbs and its predecessor The Complete Language of Flowers, author S. Theresa Dietz continues this custom with The Complete Language of Trees. Coupled with two indexes, one for searching by common tree name and the other organized by meaning, Dietz cleverly connects quality time in nature with the overall improvement of mental health by developing a stunningly depicted dictionary for gardeners, environmentalists, and nature lovers alike.

Seized with the desire to know more about her family’s troubled past, she embarks on a slow and painful journey to discover the truth about her peculiar heritage. How had her difficult father, Ciccio, born into abject poverty, ended up living like a king in Villa Sole, an ancient, opulent house set in its own sprawling grounds in the heart of Taormina? Nothing prepares Beatrice for the shocking discoveries that she makes when she returns home to Lancashire and begins delving into the history of the sun-drenched mansion. Starting with the self-exiled English aristocrat who once lived there, she unearths ever more of the secrets Villa Sole holds, nestled within the Roman walls that surround it, finding uncomfortable answers to questions she’d ignored all her life. In doing so, she reaches one important conclusion: you cannot accurately judge events of the past through the eyes of the present.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The inspiration for writing poetry came from Sybil’s fathers’ story, which he wrote after her mother passed. Having left home at 13 she knew very little about her parents and initially was so enthralled with his story that she believed it would make a great book, but as she started to write found that writing in verse flowed much easier. Her siblings were also grateful for the writing of this first poem as they also had no idea of the early part of their fathers’ life. From there she found everyday life and happenings around her gave her material to continue writing. Now retired and not having a mind cluttered with work, it never ceases to amaze her how these stories come to her and just must be written, often waking in the night, mulling over new poems, and having to quickly write lines down before trying to get back to sleep again. The local pastor has also tapped into this gift and she is often asked to write a poem to go with a Sunday sermon.

Winola resulted from a controlled pollination cross-breeding between Wilking as a seed bearing parent and Minneola as a pollen parent. The fruit surface is wrinkled with an orange-red color and bears conspicuous, but sparsely distributed rind oil glands. The thickness of the rind is medium to thick, and adherence ofthe flesh to the rind varies from strong to semiadherent to easy peeling depending on the root stock and fruit maturity. Neither areola nor navel are present, and the fruit flesh is juicy, aromatic and of excellent taste, with segments of the fruit being easily separated.
