Book Synopsis The Key To Getting Closer To Allah(SWT) by : Ijaj Seikh
Download or read book The Key To Getting Closer To Allah(SWT) written by Ijaj Seikh and published by Independently Published. This book was released on 2023-12-31 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In modern times, especially for those of us born into Muslim families, religion becomes a ritualistic hobby. We follow customs, perform acts and recite prayers without understanding the signifcance of what we are doing. We attend religious gatherings but what we hear does not translate into strengthening our faith or changing our behaviour. Practicing this kind of 'superfcial' Islam means we fail to receive the full blessings of Islam and are more likely to neglect our faith and move further away from Allah in times of difficulty or when we are busy with worldly matters. Furthermore, if we do not practice the faith with understanding, what example are we setting others, especially non-Muslims? What will we be able to teach our children? Te purpose of this book is to provide you the means of changing your thoughts and behaviour regarding some of the most fundamental aspects of our religion. Each chapter introduces a topic using the Qur'an and Hadith followed by practical advice on how to act upon this; recording your daily/weekly/monthly progress in the space provided. Sincere engagement with this process will help you develop lifelong habits of practicing your faith understanding why you are doing what you are doing. Each chapter is independent of the others therefore the book does not need to be read in any specifc order. However, I would advise you to focus on one chapter at a time, and try not to do too much too soon since you are likely to overburden yourself and disengage with the process. Remember the words of the Prophet (peace be upon him): "Take up good deeds only as much as you are able, for the best deeds are those done regularly even if they are few." Use this book with the firm intention to better yourself in the hope of pleasing and drawing closer to Allah and His Prophet (peace be upon him). Certainly, Allah will help you: "He who draws close to Me a hand's span, I will draw close to him an arm's length. And whoever draws near Me an arm's length, I will draw near him a fathom's length. And whoever comes to Me walking, I will go to him running..."

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Actions are distinguished, one from the other, with respect to their excellence in the Sight of Allah in accordance with the condition of the heart, not by their number or form, but rather due to the strength of the caller, his truthfulness, his sincerity and the extent to which he prefer Allah over himself. The heart has been singled out for this because it is the leader of the body, and through the purification of the leader the subjects become purified, and with his corruption they become corrupted. So if you, Observant of Allah, wish to cure your hear then it is upon you to be truthful with regards to seeking refuge with Allah and putting your trust in Him, to pray a great deal of supererogatory prayers, to perform the actions of obedience to Allah frequently, to pray the night prayer while the people are sleeping, and to treat your heart by making it continuously stick to the remembrances and by befriending only the righteous and to frequently recite the Quran. And Allah will indeed allow all of this to be preserved by him.

Book excerpt: When was the last time we really poured our feelings out to Allah? **** We have been taught that the only time we can communicate with Allah is when we are making du’a to Him. Even then, it comes with a set of restrictive rules that puts a ‘barrier’ between Allah and us. The things we recite are verses that we were told to memorise, but rarely do we truly talk to Allah about the troubles that are weighing down our hearts. Because it feels awkward. Thus when we are down and sad, we seek other means for comforting ourselves, but often they offer only temporary respite. We forget that true comfort lies only with Allah. **** In this book, author Ayesha Syahira takes you on a journey of spiritual discovery; of reconnecting with Allah wholeheartedly. The author focuses on nurturing the lifestyle of talking to Allah; of finding comfort by making du’a to Him at any time of the day.
Book Synopsis The Book of the Jihad of 'Ali ibn Tahir al-Sulami (d. 1106) by : Niall Christie
Download or read book The Book of the Jihad of 'Ali ibn Tahir al-Sulami (d. 1106) written by Niall Christie and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2017-07-05 with total page 427 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In 1105, six years after the first crusaders from Europe conquered Jerusalem, a Damascene Muslim jurisprudent named ’Ali ibn Tahir al-Sulami (d. 1106) publicly dictated an extended call to the military jihad (holy war) against the European invaders. Entitled Kitab al-Jihad (The Book of the Jihad), al-Sulami’s work both summoned his Muslim brethren to the jihad and instructed them in the manner in which it ought to be conducted, covering topics as diverse as who should fight and be fought, treatment of prisoners and plunder, and the need for participants to fight their own inner sinfulness before turning their efforts against the enemy. Al-Sulami’s text is vital for a complete understanding of the Muslim reaction to the crusades, providing the reader with the first contemporary record of Muslim preaching against the crusaders. However, until recently only a small part of the text has been studied by modern scholars, as it has remained for the most part an unedited manuscript. In this book Niall Christie provides a complete edition and the first full English translation of the extant sections (parts 2, 8, 9 and 12) of the manuscript of al-Sulami’s work, making it fully available to modern readers for the first time. These are accompanied by an introductory study exploring the techniques that the author uses to motivate his audience, the precedents that influenced his work, and possible directions for future study of the text. In addition, an appendix provides translations of jihad sermons by Ibn Nubata al-Fariqi (d. 985), a preacher from Asia Minor whose rhetorical style was highly influential in the development of al-Sulami’s work.

Download or read book Drawing Closer to Allah (Swt) written by Fawzi Sunuqrut and published by Createspace Independent Publishing Platform. This book was released on 2016-05-05 with total page 92 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The path to achieve revival and resume the Islamic way of life is a path adorned with struggles and challenges at all stages. It is a work that requires Nafsiyas (Islamic Disposition) that are unrivalled and elevated, formidable and purified. The way to achieve this is by strengthening the connection and relationship to Allah (swt), the Lord of the worlds and all creation. He Subhanahu must be relied upon alone for help and full Tawakkul must be placed upon Him alone, whilst the attainment of His pleasure must be made the highest aim of this life. It is necessary to reawaken the Nufoos (hearts) with Taqwa of Allah (swt) and obedience to Him, with the fear of His punishment and yearning for His gardens of paradise The one who carries the Da'wah is in the greatest need of being obedient to Allah (swt) and to stand firmly upon His Deen. If he was to do that then the Dunya would become insignificant in front of his eyes, the affair of the disbelievers would be diminished before him and the difficult matters would become easier. Across 12 Chapters, the author in this book has made a collection of Qurabaat (Acts of gaining closeness to Allah (swt)) and Taa'aat (Acts of obedience pleasing to Allah (swt)), which generate the Jaw Al-Imani (Atmosphere of Iman) within the Da'wah carrier and increase the realisation of his relationship and connection to Allah (swt) Ta'alaa.
