Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Untying The Karmic Knot joins past-life regression and life-between-lives regression, uniting them in an amazingly powerful and effective process that brings healing to current life challenges. These regressions reveal the source of difficult relationships, depression, anger, addiction, phobias, abandonment issues, unexplained anxiety and body pains. Rather than originating in this life, these problems come forward from a past life. This untying of the original Karmic Knot releases those spirits bound in that ongoing struggle. When that past life ends our spirit enters the afterlife, a realm of unconditional love. Our spirit guide meets us to share knowledge about our current life: the lessons, our soul's purpose on earth, and where we find meaning in our present life. Diane Morrin, M.A., a Licensed Professional Counselor in Montana, earned her bachelor's degree in Sociology from the University of California, and her master's degree in Transpersonal Counseling Psychology from the Naropa University, Boulder, CO. Diane trained in past-life regression with Brian Weiss, M.D., the author of "Many Lives, Many Masters." Her training continued in lifebetween- lives regression with Dr. Michael Newton, Ph.D., author of "Journey of Souls." A member of the Newton Institute, Ms. Morrin practices and teaches the Insight Meditation tradition. As a spiritual regression therapist, she supports raising the level of consciousness among those courageous enough to discover our human purpose here on earth. Ms. Morrin is the mother of three adult sons and is committed to her stewardship of the environment. Visit online: www.untyingthekarmicknot.com for more information. A QUESTION OF WILL Paul Kelly is a good man: a firefighter and paramedic facing death and danger daily, risking his own safety for the sake of strangers. Paul has seen tragedy a thousand times, but it has never been his own. Until now… A shocking crime. A loved one, brutally murdered. Paul’s life is suddenly invaded by police, reporters, the harsh glare of spotlights on a family’s private sorrow. The killer shows no sorrow, no remorse – a teen sociopath whose dead eyes stare in sullen silence. Paul does not want blood or vengeance. He wants to know why. Paul Kelly was a good man. But his obsession is drawing him into the darkest depths of the human soul. Where a terrible truth lurks in the shadows of lies. And a price must be paid to answer… UNDERGROUND Once upon a time there were seven good friends. They were the forgotten little brothers and sisters of the Big Chill generation, born in the turbulent year when the flames of Watts lit the City of Angels and napalm kissed the war-torn skies of Vietnam. They called themselves The Underground. For Justin and Mia, Josh and Caroline, Amy, Seth, and Simon, there was nothing but drugs and music, combined with boundless cynicism and a deep yearning for something that really mattered. As graduation rolled around, they knew they would drift apart. By Labor Day weekend, there was just enough time to throw one last private party. But where? Creepy old Custis Manor was temporarily uninhabited. So they motored out to the moldering southern plantation, ready to party the night away. They could not have known that on the other side of the mirrors, something watched: a corrupt, voracious force, neither fully living nor truly dead. It was a soulless spirit of evil that had spent more than two hundred years cultivating its terrible powers. It was the Great Night. And Custis Manor was its domain. In one terrifying night their lives were forever shattered. One died. One disappeared. The survivors were scarred both inside and out. For twenty years, they couldn't face the truth of what had really happened. Until now. One has gone back, and through the mirror. And now the remaining friends are forced to confront the demons of their own pasts and a greater nightmare beyond their comprehension. Together they must face the Great Night, lay waste to its vicious legacy, and free the thousands of souls still trapped there, as the reunited Underground meets the Underground Railroad of souls. A truly original metaphysical thriller—gory and intense, satisfying and unique, Underground is a startling vision of the nightmare dimension from one of the true masters of the genre. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The latter half of the twentieth century witnessed a growing interest in Buddhism, and it continues to capture the imagination of many in the West who see it as either an alternative or a supplement to their own religious beliefs. Numerous introductory books have appeared in recent years to cater for this growing interest, but almost none devotes attention to the specifically ethical dimension of the tradition. For complex cultural and historical reasons, ethics has not received as much attention in traditional Buddhist thought as it has in the West, and publications on the subject are few and far between. Here, Damien Keown, author of Buddhism: A Very Short Introduction , illustrates how Buddhism might approach a range of fascinating moral issues ranging from abortion and suicide to cloning. ABOUT THE SERIES: The Very Short Introductions series from Oxford University Press contains hundreds of titles in almost every subject area. These pocket-sized books are the perfect way to get ahead in a new subject quickly. Our expert authors combine facts, analysis, perspective, new ideas, and enthusiasm to make interesting and challenging topics highly readable.

This engaging little book paints Buddhism as the way of the world to come but yet explains patiently why it is all right to fail at trying to become a Buddhist. With lucid style and characteristic wit, Ms Fields deftly interweaves the past, the present and the future, science and spirituality, the East and the West, earth and space, and prose and poetry to produce a rich tapestry studded not only with gems of stupefying similes and mesmerising metaphors, but also drenched with the distilled wisdom of the ages infused with original inspirational insight. Buddhism is a religion for wealthy intellectuals, according to Fields. But read this beautifully crafted book to find out just who might be one.

Unlike others books that argue for and against the existence of God, this one attempts to provides a comprehensive direction on improving life in a godless society.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Opening Pandoras Box is an essay inspired by the horrible deeds of terrorists on 9/11 2001. It is a personal investigation into the nature of the worlds great religions, their positive and negative traits. The authors conclusion is that of the three or four most influential spiritual geniuses of the last four thousand years would include Krishna, Moses, Buddha, and Jesusthose that had spiritually developed adherents, especially in meditation, urged their students to become like them, rather than simply follow a belief system. These teachers gave their students, at whatever level of development, exercises to lessen and evaporate their ego consciousness and eventually to become one with the universe or Godor any word you wish to apply. I think Jesus did teach this also, but early Christianity turned away from it to become an institution and to seek converts. Unquestionably, an institution can do great spiritual good in regards to outreach, but mystical developments must come from a one-on-one teacher basis. The farther away from this oneness goal, the more likely to be mistaken about it since the larger the ego, the more self-oriented it will be and the more likely it will be wrongnot only about the goal itself, but also about the process. Being simply a student, I am talking about these things as a student and urge my readers to investigate all this for themselves. Anthony Joseph

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: It is rare for someone to journey through life without carrying the burden of regret: regret for what was, wasn’t, or might have been. Perhaps your regret lies in the echoes of unvoiced words. Did you withhold the depths of your love, leaving it buried within? Were you powerless to set the boundaries that could have protected your heart? Did your voice falter when you needed to speak up? In the quiet corners of our hearts, the heavy weight of regret finds its dwelling, reminding us of the striking power of unspoken words and unexpressed truths. Regardless of the regret (or regrets) you may harbour, have you tried to process that feeling? Have you managed to come to terms with it, or does it continue to weigh you down? Are you stuck in the past, unable to truly live in the present, because of your regret? In Haunted by Words Left Unspoken: How Speaking Your Truth Can Set Your Past Free, Anna Marie Buonomo addresses the topic of regret through a series of letters that are supported by poetry, thoughtful prose, and quotations from great thinkers. Divided into three sections—the past, the present, and the future—this book demonstrates how our relationship with ourselves can evolve and grow with time. Using her own life experiences as examples, Anna challenges her readers to face their regrets and move toward letting go and healing. After all, if we can face our own truths and release regret, we will create space for happiness in the present that will, in turn, manifest the future we envision.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Traditionally, Buddhist philosophy has seemingly rejected the autonomous self. In Western philosophy, free will and the philosophy of action are established areas of research. This book presents a comprehensive analytical review of extant scholarship on perspectives on free will. It studies and refutes the most powerful Western and Buddhist philosophical objections to free will and explores the possibility that a form of agency may in fact exist within Buddhism. Providing a detailed explanation of how Buddhist meditation increases self-regulative mind-control abilities, the author argues that the Buddhist path is designed to produce meditation virtuosos exhibiting mind-control abilities far exceeding the free-will advocate’s ability to ‘do otherwise’ or have their choices be ‘up to’ them. Based on the empirically-supported mind-control cultivated by these meditation virtuosos, the book proposes the principle of, ‘Buddhist Soft Compatibilism’, a theory of ‘freedom of the mind’ that entails freedoms of the will, attention, emotion and action, compatible with both determinism and indeterminism. Buddhism, Meditation and Free Will will be of interest to Buddhist and Western philosophers and academics interested in comparative philosophy, free will, philosophy of action, metaphysics, ethics and Religious Studies.
