Hoping that we may attain the usual standard of excellence, we proceed with our compilation, and with what success, you, reader, =-be the judge. As in the Editorial is generally found a brief summary of the preceding year, we will not depart from the usual custom. The past year has been one of experiment, as, our Presi dent being ih Japan, we were without an administrative head. But, though we have suffered by this absence, we feel that we have, in a great measure, a recompense in the work performed by, and the honors bestowed upon him. His superior char acter and abilities, being thus acknowledged and appreciated by the world, have raised the renown of the M. A. C. To a position it never before held in the estimation of the public. Knowing as we do that our President is our best friend and protector, it afforded us the greatest pleasure and satisfaction to see once more his countenance, and feel his quickening powers.
