Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Offering practical instruction on how to perform the Tibetan Rites of Rejuvenation, which will take only minutes a day, many practitioners have experienced benefits, including increased energy, weight loss, better memory, new hair growth, pain relief, better digestion, and feeling overall more youthful. Legend has it that hidden in the remote reaches of the Himalayan mountains lies a secret that would have saved Ponce de Leon from years of fruitless searching for the Fountain of Youth. There, generations of Tibetan monks have passed down a series of exercises with mystical, age-reversing properties. Known as the Tibetan Rites of Rejuvenation or the Five Rites, these once-secret exercises are now available to Westerners in Ancient Secret of the Fountain Of Youth. Peter Kelder's book begins with an account of his own introduction to the rites by way of Colonel Bradford, a mysterious retired British army officer who learned of the rites while journeying high up in the Himalayas. Fountain of Youth then offers practical instructions for each of the five rites, which resemble yoga postures. Taking just minutes a day to perform, the benefits for practitioners have included increased energy, weight loss, better memory, new hair growth, pain relief, better digestion, and feeling overall more youthful.

Book Synopsis The Fountain of Life by : John Flavel
Download or read book The Fountain of Life written by John Flavel and published by . This book was released on 2013-01-01 with total page 426 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: If my pen were both able, and at leisure, to get glory in paper, it would be but a paper glory when I had gotten it; but if by displaying (which is the design of these papers) the transcendent excellency of Jesus Christ, I may win glory to him from you, to whom I humbly offer them, or from any other into whose hands providence shall cast them, that will be glory indeed, and an occasion of glorifying God to all eternity. It is not the design of this epistle to compliment, but to benefit you; not to emblazon your excellencies, but Christ's; not to acquaint the world how much you have endeared me to yourselves, but to increase and strengthen the endearments between Christ and you, upon your part. I might indeed (this being a proper place for it) pay you my acknowledgments for your great kindnesses to me and mine; of which, I assure you, I have, and ever shall have, the most grateful sense: but you and I are theater enough to one another, and can satisfy ourselves with the enclosed comforts and delights of our mutual love and friendship. But let me tell you, the whole world is not a theater large enough to show the glory of Christ upon, or unfold the one half of the unsearchable riches that lie hid in him. These things will be far better understood, and spoken of in heaven, by the noon-day divinity, in which the immediately illuminated assembly do there preach his praises, shall by such a stammering tongue, and scribbling pen as mine, which does but mar them. Alas! I write his praises but by moon-light; I cannot praise him so much as by halves. Indeed, no tongue but his own (as Nazianzen said of Basil) is sufficient to undertake that task. What shall I say of Christ?

Book Synopsis The Fountain of Knowledge by : Shiri M. Breznitz
Download or read book The Fountain of Knowledge written by Shiri M. Breznitz and published by Stanford University Press. This book was released on 2014-07-30 with total page 200 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Today, universities around the world find themselves going beyond the traditional roles of research and teaching to drive the development of local economies through collaborations with industry. At a time when regions with universities are seeking best practices among their peers, Shiri M. Breznitz argues against the notion that one university's successful technology transfer model can be easily transported to another. Rather, the impact that a university can have on its local economy must be understood in terms of its idiosyncratic internal mechanisms, as well as the state and regional markets within which it operates. To illustrate her argument, Breznitz undertakes a comparative analysis of two universities, Yale and Cambridge, and the different outcomes of their attempts at technology commercialization in biotech. By contrasting these two universities—their unique policies, organizational structure, institutional culture, and location within distinct national polities—she makes a powerful case for the idea that technology transfer is dependent on highly variable historical and environmental factors. Breznitz highlights key features to weigh and engage in developing future university and economic development policies that are tailor-made for their contexts.
Book Synopsis Fountain of Salvation by : Fred Sanders
Download or read book Fountain of Salvation written by Fred Sanders and published by Wm. B. Eerdmans Publishing. This book was released on 2021-09-02 with total page 292 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A trinitarian exposition of Christian soteriology The relation of God and salvation is not primarily a problem to be solved. Rather, it is the blazing core of Christian doctrine, where the triune nature of God and the truth of the gospel come together. Accordingly, a healthy Christian theology must confess the doctrine of the Trinity and the doctrine of salvation as closely related, mutually illuminating, and strictly ordered. When the two doctrines are left unconnected, both suffer. The doctrine of the Trinity begins to seem altogether irrelevant to salvation history and Christian experience, while soteriology meanwhile becomes naturalized, losing its transcendent reference. If they are connected too tightly, on the other hand, human salvation seems inherent to the divine reality itself. Deftly navigating this tension, Fountain of Salvation relates them by expounding the doctrine of eternal processions and temporal missions, ultimately showing how they inherently belong together. The theological vision expounded here by Fred Sanders is one in which the holy Trinity is the source of salvation in a direct and personal way, as the Father sends the Son and the Holy Spirit to enact an economy of revelation and redemption. Individual chapters show how this vision informs the doctrines of atonement, ecclesiology, Christology, and pneumatology—all while directly engaging with major modern interpreters of the doctrine of the Trinity. As Sanders affirms throughout this in-depth theological treatise, the triune God is the fountain from which all other doctrine flows—and no understanding of salvation is complete that does not begin there.
Download or read book The Life written by Carrie Fountain and published by Penguin. This book was released on 2021-04-27 with total page 114 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: “An exquisite book of poetry with a lens on motherhood that’s existential, funny and tender.” —Elle Acclaimed poet Carrie Fountain deepens her exploration of the domestic in a new collection of playful and wise poems The poems in Carrie Fountain's third collection, The Life, exist somewhere, as Rilke says, between “our daily life” and “the great work”—an interstitial space where sidelong glances live alongside shouts to heaven. In elegant, colloquial language, Fountain observes her children dressing themselves in fledgling layers of personhood, creating their own private worlds and personalities, and makes room for genuine marvels in the midst of routine. Attuned to the delicate, fleeting moments that together comprise a life, these poems offer a guide by which to navigate the signs and symbols, and to pilot if not the perfect life, the only life, the life we are given.

Book Synopsis Life Beyond 100 by : C. Norman Shealy
Download or read book Life Beyond 100 written by C. Norman Shealy and published by Penguin. This book was released on 2006-12-28 with total page 276 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Using today's most leading-edge therapies and breakthroughs in the science of longevity, C. Norman Shealy, one of the pioneering holistic physicians of our time, shows how we can healthfully age to one hundred, and beyond. The idea of living well beyond one hundred years-and enjoying those years in good health-used to be the stuff of science fiction. No longer. C. Norman Shealy, M.D., Ph.D., whom Caroline Myss calls a "wizard-genius-scientist-mystic-physician," offers Life Beyond 100: Secrets of the Fountain of Youth. In this deeply learned and revolutionary book, Dr. Shealy provides a new concept of longevity, one that reveals that we can live far longer than current science suggests. Basic healthy living and the use of alternative therapies have long been touted as "the way" to well-being, but Dr. Shealy takes these tenets a step further. From the physiology of stress and its effect on the human mind and body to the importance of DHEA; from the proven techniques of photostimulation and biofeedback training to groundbreaking suggestions for alleviating depression; from Shealy's electromagnetic framework of life to his recommendations for optimal health, Life Beyond 100 presents a detailed roadmap to achieve healthy aging-or "youthing." The result of years of clinical practice and cutting-edge research, Life Beyond 100 also exposes the fallacies behind many of the claims made by the medical establishment and the pharmaceutical industry. Shealy argues that rather than increasing people's life expectancy, these two groups create the opposite effect, consigning hundreds of thousands of people to an often miserable and premature old age by treating symptoms with an antidote-prescription medicine-that is often worse than the ailment itself. As a counterpoint, Life Beyond 100 provides the most ambitious- yet medically grounded and commonsensical-longevity program available. Easy to follow and supported by advanced research, Dr. Shealy's guide to uncovering the secrets of youthful aging redefines the concept of human longevity and offers a new vision of healthy living to one hundred and beyond.
Download or read book Fountain of Life written by John Flavel and published by . This book was released on 2011-05-25 with total page 576 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Theologian John Flavel was a 15th century Puritan living in England. He was a prolific writer, and produced at least 10 major works. Fountain of Life is a collection of 42 of his sermons, most of which focus on the life, work, and importance of Christ. Flavel's writing is often grandiose, giving his words a sense of great importance. He follows the typical Puritan style of prose, so his sermons will surely take a lot of thought on the part of the reader, but they ultimately exhibit a mastery of the subject of Christ and will be useful for those looking for deep theology on the subject.
