Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Style that makes Dripta distinct: In this book in Chapter III, Dripta has successfully merged prose and poetry in single piece carrying a singular theme with excellent harmony. The style makes him totally unique in poetry writing world and he made it possible because of his powerful yet sublime grip on language and expression that he mastered long ago. His poems are written in English, pre-eminently the worldwide language, which mention feelings that occupy the minds of many around the world: dreariness, loneliness, birth, death, longing for love, lost love, and love regained. In order to stress the importance of these universal aspects Dripta Roy does not localize his work. He thinks that his international background is an advantage, allowing him to approach the things he writes about from several points of view rather than from just one perspective. His use of symbolism in his poetry is an important one, and his poetry revolves around an array of talented thought and ideas. Dripta explores birth, death, religion and sexuality in depth in all his poems. His poems talk to ones heart, and deals with the problems, and desires of many. He too captures the minds of many with his verses. Poetry is simply a means of expression. A chance to speak out your mind, without having to care what others will say Dripta said. Driptas poetry balances the elements of optimism and pessimism in perfect harmony. He speaks of God quite often, as though he is in search for the truth. After having talked to him, he feels as though he has found his true self through his poems. His new book not only consists of a new collection of poems, but also a whole new section, which is written in the form of prose. Each chapter reflects a single aspect of life, which starts in the form of a prose, and Dripta beautifully finishes each chapter with a poem that acts as an integral part of the prose, giving meaning to the chapter as a whole. On the whole this is an excellent piece of work, which portrays a talented individual making magic once again.

Book excerpt: Phoenix, Arizona is a modern, pleasant, and exciting city that is increasingly a destination location for its climate and amenities. However, like most major cities in the United States, Phoenix has an inner city that few are aware of or want to know about. This part of the city is run down, with neglected, abandoned homes and buildings. Crime is common, and people retreat into houses with gates, fences, and bars on the windows, hoping to maintain safety and privacy with “No Trespassing” signs on their front doors. There are homeless and others in distress, wandering the streets with nowhere to go. Restaurants and stores struggle to stay afloat and serve the needs of those in the area. This book of photos reveals the stark truth of the forgotten city of Phoenix—and the people who deserve to be noticed, respected, and seen.

The old wizard had known for ages that real magic comes to those who first relish the magic of simple life. True wizards develop an extraordinary interest in the ordinary. But the old wizard wondered: what then does it mean to be interested? What power calls us and takes hold of us when we feel an interest? How does one feel more interested in the simplest of things? How does one listen to the nature of life? The wizard is led through dreams to the story of Pelenor, the unsteady, orphan voice in our hearts that cries for awakening, the forgotten prince. Abandoned by his father because he was inconvenient, living on the edge of a decaying kingdom, he is forced to flee when civil war erupts. Replete with magic, swashbuckling, and questions about the purpose of being, the story follows Pelenor's vagabond journey as he seeks for awakening.

Book excerpt: In my 2004 book, Turbulent Skies, I wrote, “Maybe someday someone will write about the incredible actions of the flight crews on the morning of September 11, 2001.” This wish began to manifest in the 10th year after 9/11 when I had an overwhelming sensation that I should undertake this quest myself. In my first year of writing, as I researched and wrote, my body would chill, and I would cry. Once an article was finished, I could hardly get up out of my chair. I truly felt like I was on the planes with the crews. I knew if I was to continue, I had to control all that emotion. The book’s focus initially was on the flight crews. But as I wrote, it became so much more. The reader will learn how the air traffic controllers cleared the skies, how Canada responded by handling all the incoming international flights, and how the failures of the FAA, the FBI, the CIA, and the airlines allowed this attack to take place. I realized that September 11th could have been even more disastrous had it not been for the actions of those brave crew members and little miracles that occurred that day. I also realized how it might have been prevented if the crews had been properly trained and informed about the threat they were facing. The book further examines how political forces changed the priorities for counter terrorism, and also impeded the examination of how the attacks could happen. These political forces were challenged by four New Jersey widows who got the 9/11 hearings approved. Finally, this book examines the aftermath of the attack, and how it forever changed the airline profession and added significant restrictions on traveling public.

Book excerpt: A common thief may be the heir to the throne in this first adventure in the Nobles series Pinch, a scoundrel and a rogue of indeterminate birth, looks out for himself and his band of thieving comrades, thinking only of his next heist. However, as political turmoil strikes the land, Pinch’s simple days of thievery and adventure may be coming to a close. Manferic III, the former ruler of Ankhapur and Pinch’s guardian, has died, leaving behind no clear heir to his throne. By ancient law, the crown will pass to the relative “chosen by the cup”—a family relic—in a ceremony whereby the rightful heir is selected and pretenders and other rejected candidates meet their deaths. Pinch’s outlaw days have prepared him for life in mean streets. But is he ready for the dangers that lurk in courtly hallways, among royal relatives and dagger-bearing shadows?
