Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Utilize faith to connect to God, lose yourself in God, and gain a sense of living in God... How can you use God's point of view to understand biblical context? How has God imparted knowledge from a source beyond the brain to accomplish his purposes? How can the brain be 'reprogrammed' to harmonize mind and spirit? How can you use new 'parables' to communicate 'old' truths? These are the intriguing questions that have been on the mind of Wellington Watts. Now, in his book Cosmic Connection, Watts outlines the answers to these quandaries and incites readers to find a unique understanding of God and what he wants out of human beings. Using solid biblical references, innovative philosophies, and covering a myriad of what are often confusing and cumbersome issues faced on a daily basis by Christian intellectuals, Watts will inspire both spiritually and psychologically as he challenges everyone to find his or her own Cosmic Connection and become more effective in everyday life. Wellington Watts grew up in a pastor's home. After graduating from high school, he received his bachelor's degree from Eastern Pilgrim College/United Wesleyan College. He is a certified public school teacher. His thirty-three years in education include twelve years as a public school teacher, thirteen years as a private Christian high school principal, five years as a private Christian school elementary school teacher, and three years as a private Christian school elementary and middle school principal. He is a church worship team leader, composes and arranges music, and has directed church and community choirs. His book, 'The Cosmic Connection: Beyond the Brain,' is an outgrowth of his combined life experiences. He is married to Nancy Worrell Watts, a successful retired teacher, and has one son, Wellington E. Watts, III, owner of Alexandria Colonial Tours in Alexandria, Virginia.

Book excerpt: In a bold departure from her earlier books, medium and psychic Carole Lynne shares the story of her own growing revelation of the interconnected, interplanetary, cosmic energy that flows around and through us all, that is, indeed, the stuff we are made of. Experience Carole Lynne's journey of a lifetime as she goes into an altered state of consciousness and brings messages from "My Guidance" and "The Energy." Receive a glimpse into the nature of the spiritual forces that have created us and continue to manifest life. Evolution is not over! The future of our world depends on our abilities to evolve in a positive way: to let go of our egos, to realize that we are not separate beings, and to evolve to a consciousness that finds poverty, pollution, and war unthinkable. We are responsible for the future. But how can we change in order to have better personal lives and to make better choices for our world? As we approach 2012 and a seeming meltdown of economic and societal infrastructures more and more people are turning to other realms for solace, advice, and the tools they need to live every day. In the past when this has happened (during the Great Depression or WWI, for example) a great deal of material from other realms was given to us. Carole Lynne’s work joins that of her predecessors and her contemporaries in providing that information for tomorrow’s world.

Book excerpt: A Best Book of 2020 (NPR) A Best Book of 2020 (The Economist) A Top Ten Best Science Book of 2020 (Smithsonian) A Best Science and Technology Book of 2020 (Library Journal) A Must-Read Book to Escape the Chaos of 2020 (Newsweek) Starred review (Booklist) Starred review (Publishers Weekly) A historically unprecedented disconnect between humanity and the heavens has opened. Jo Marchant's book can begin to heal it. For at least 20,000 years, we have led not just an earthly existence but a cosmic one. Celestial cycles drove every aspect of our daily lives. Our innate relationship with the stars shaped who we are—our art, religious beliefs, social status, scientific advances, and even our biology. But over the last few centuries we have separated ourselves from the universe that surrounds us. It's a disconnect with a dire cost. Our relationship to the stars and planets has moved from one of awe, wonder and superstition to one where technology is king—the cosmos is now explored through data on our screens, not by the naked eye observing the natural world. Indeed, in most countries, modern light pollution obscures much of the night sky from view. Jo Marchant's spellbinding parade of the ways different cultures celebrated the majesty and mysteries of the night sky is a journey to the most awe-inspiring view you can ever see: looking up on a clear dark night. That experience and the thoughts it has engendered have radically shaped human civilization across millennia. The cosmos is the source of our greatest creativity in art, in science, in life. To show us how, Jo Marchant takes us to the Hall of the Bulls in the caves at Lascaux in France, and to the summer solstice at a 5,000-year-old tomb at Newgrange, Ireland. We discover Chumash cosmology and visit medieval monks grappling with the nature of time and Tahitian sailors navigating by the stars. We discover how light reveals the chemical composition of the sun, and we are with Einstein as he works out that space and time are one and the same. A four-billion-year-old meteor inspires a search for extraterrestrial life. The cosmically liberating, summary revelation is that star-gazing made us human.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The modern materialist approach to life has conspicuously failed to explain such central mind-related features of our world as consciousness, intentionality, meaning, and value. This failure to account for something so integral to nature as mind, argues philosopher Thomas Nagel, is a major problem, threatening to unravel the entire naturalistic world picture, extending to biology, evolutionary theory, and cosmology. Since minds are features of biological systems that have developed through evolution, the standard materialist version of evolutionary biology is fundamentally incomplete. And the cosmological history that led to the origin of life and the coming into existence of the conditions for evolution cannot be a merely materialist history, either. An adequate conception of nature would have to explain the appearance in the universe of materially irreducible conscious minds, as such. Nagel's skepticism is not based on religious belief or on a belief in any definite alternative. In Mind and Cosmos, he does suggest that if the materialist account is wrong, then principles of a different kind may also be at work in the history of nature, principles of the growth of order that are in their logical form teleological rather than mechanistic. In spite of the great achievements of the physical sciences, reductive materialism is a world view ripe for displacement. Nagel shows that to recognize its limits is the first step in looking for alternatives, or at least in being open to their possibility.

Book excerpt: 'Superb ... Gribbin has done it again ... the story of how the matter that makes up our bodies travelled from the stars ... a wonderful account' Sunday Times, Books of the Year Every one of us is made of stardust, John Gribbin explains in this dazzling book. Everything we see, touch, breathe and smell, nearly every molecule in our bodies, is the by-product of stars as they live and die in spectacular explosions, scattering material across the universe which is recycled to become part of us. It is only by understanding how stars are made and how they die that we can every understand how we came into being. Taking us on an enthralling journey, John Gribbin shows us the scientific breakthroughs in the quest for our origins. With the raw materials for creating life all around us, he concludes, it is impossible to believe we are alone in the universe. 'An incredible story ... gives a sense of the almost unbelievable coincidence of physical laws and circumstances that resulted in your being able to read these words today' Literary Review 'Gribbin skilfully and engagingly traces the historical sequence ... rather like Sherlock Holmes reading clues' New Scientist

Book excerpt: The question we will always be asking but will never know the answer is the question: Is there life in Outer Space? I think that almost every thinking person believes that life exists out there somewhere? But finding life is almost meaningless unless we can find intelligent life that can communicate with us. And for what purpose? We now know that it is almost certain that chemical spores can be created and if enough of them come together life can form. For life to have meaning, it must be able to reproduce itself and to create more of them.

Book excerpt: A bestselling author, neuroscientist, and computer engineer unveils a theory of intelligence that will revolutionize our understanding of the brain and the future of AI. For all of neuroscience's advances, we've made little progress on its biggest question: How do simple cells in the brain create intelligence? Jeff Hawkins and his team discovered that the brain uses maplike structures to build a model of the world—not just one model, but hundreds of thousands of models of everything we know. This discovery allows Hawkins to answer important questions about how we perceive the world, why we have a sense of self, and the origin of high-level thought. A Thousand Brains heralds a revolution in the understanding of intelligence. It is a big-think book, in every sense of the word. Book excerpt: Imagine that Mother Nature methodically designed a world in such a way that she linked all of her creation in a way that if you allowed yourself to become open to your intuition then the world and everything in it would have meaning and purpose. The Cosmic Connection encourages you to leave the outside world and reawaken the world that lies within. In doing this you learn to look for signs that occur by a twist of fate and/or a coincidence. This book is not meant to offend anyone; instead its soul purpose, is to remind you who you are and what it is you need to live your life with a sense of meaning and purpose. Whatever it is that you want out of life, is your personal preference. In order to get what you want and/or need you have to take action and implement the steps that will get you in a position to obtain what it is you desire. Remember, what you need does not include anyone else. Finding what you need will allow everything else to cosmically fall into place.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In this sweeping tour of the cosmos and our place within it, acclaimed science writer Jeff Kanipe shows the many ways we are connected to the vast universe we inhabit. Long before our apelike ancestors dropped from the trees and began playing with fire, even before the Sun emerged from its chrysalis of dust and irradiated its brood of planets, numberless and nameless astronomical events affected Earth and its emerging life-forms. Our chemical makeup--from the iron in our blood to the calcium in our bones--derives from stars that lived and died hundreds of millions of years ago. Comets have showered organic molecules into our oceans, and asteroid impacts have wiped out predominant species that lived before. Tracing the whole natural history of how events in the near and far universe have influenced life on Earth today, and how they might influence life in the future, Kanipe, with unparalleled eloquence, explores a host of intriguing questions: - How the Earth's orbit and inclination have triggered past ice ages - The role ancient supernovae may have played in mass extinctions and genetic changes - How a slight but persistent dip in solar output contributed to a multicentury cooling event called the "Little Ice Age" - How ancient asteroid impacts pressed Earth's evolutionary reset button and how astronomers are striving to make sure that it won't happen again - The widespread effects that our Sun's changing galactic environment has on life and climate Kanipe also reflects upon the possible societal effects of alien contact, a type of cosmic intervention that some astronomers believe could happen within the next few decades. His elegant, jargon-free descriptions of the truly "big-picture view" of life on Earth will fascinate and inform everyone who has an interest in astronomy, the evolution of our planet, and the future of humankind.

Operation Space Magic was carried out by the Six Adepts and illustrates the lengths to which the Cosmic Masters are prepared to go in order to help mankind survive and advance at this critical juncture in our Spiritual evolution. WE HAVE NEVER BEEN LESS ALONE IN THE UNIVERSE THAN WE ARE NOW! OPERATION SPACE MAGIC—THE COSMIC CONNECTION gives scientific information, in a most unique manner, about one of the most ambitious Space projects ever undertaken for the benefit of mankind. The author, George King, Ph.D., D.Litt., is a Western Master of Yoga who has been in communication with Interplanetary Intelligences since 1954. Because of his unique abilities he has been designated as—“Primary Terrestrial Mental Channel” and has, since the first Contact in 1954, received more than 600 Cosmic Transmissions. He was given the responsibility of being the annalist to report this ambitious Space programme. Between March 5th and March 9th, 1980, six Interplanetry Intelligences, Who have volunteered Their services to help mankind in his hour of desperate need, placed specially tuned modules on four Planets in the Solar System—Saturn, Jupiter, Venus and Neptune. On January 23rd, 1981, They put into orbit of Earth a satellite, specially tuned into these modules, which could be used as a reception and relay station for Spiritual Energies coming directly from these Planets. These Spiritual Energies can, when needed, be used in Special Power Manipulations for the benefit of all terrestrial life. The predetermined life expectancy of this Mission is 1,000+ terrene years! This Operation took over six years of most careful planning coupled with the knowledge and application of sciences above the capabilities of terrestrials. OPERATION SPACE MAGIC—THE COSMIC CONNECTION gives a description of the major points of this Operation in such a way that the average reader can readily understand them. This book is a major breakthrough in the annals of applied physical and occult sciences. The author, working in strict liaison with The Interplanetary Confederation, has been allowed to make scientific revelations which have never been printed before. OPERATION SPACE MAGIC—THE COSMIC CONNECTION opens the door for a glimpse of the way in which mankind, in his hour of desperate need, is being helped by greater Powers, and also it gives an idea of the only correct use of science and Space flight—THAT TO SERVE ALL MEN!
