Chrysalis In the annals of dysfunctional families, the Chisholm’s are working their way to the top. Drug abuse, an unwed mother with multiple fathers, and the questionable cash flow for the 'pretty one'. All this from a seemingly normal, two parent middle class family. But were the choices truly made of their free will? Bad choices are a Chisholm family trait, one that confounds the youngest child, Ellie, who's trying to separate herself by making smart decisions. And falling for Oscar Jeffreys, the hottest guy at school, would be number one on the list of Chisholm family disasters. The Beam There comes a time in everyone’s life when they must put aside their childish ways. In the past year, Ellie Chisholm has fallen into the security of her relationship with Oscar Jeffreys, emerging with a stronger sense of herself. But now Ellie's mother has started inserting herself into Ellie’s life, treating her as if she were a child even though Ellie has begun to make very adult decisions for her future. Can Ellie maintain her sanity while walking the last steps as a child? Not Even Death In one tragic moment, Ellie Jeffreys’ perfect life ended and the devastation of losing the only man she believed she could ever love and their beautiful child causes the hopeless resignation that life shall never again be worth living. Dr. Luke Page’s inability to save Ellie’s husband and son has him hoping to recover her crumbling mind and show her love does still exist in the world. Will Luke’s love be enough to rise to the challenge of protecting her? Or will Oscar’s become like a phoenix letting not even mortality stand its way? Unto Us “No one ever said carrying demon spawn would be easy…” Ellie Jeffreys is unsure of when or where she woke up, but one thing is certain—she’s not alone. Now unsure if the nightmare of Luke Page will consume her and finally allow Gaap to destroy the family she’s created, she discovers the only way forward is to move on from the past and accept her place in an ancient prophecy.

The #1 New York Times bestselling epic fantasy series by Brandon Sanderson! The Stormlight Archive is the wildly imaginative epic fantasy from New York Times bestselling author Brandon Sanderson: welcome to the remarkable world of Roshar, a world of stone and storms. Uncanny tempests of incredible power sweep across the rocky terrain so frequently that they have shaped ecology and civilization alike. Roshar is shared by humans and the enigmatic, humanoid Parshendi, with whom they are at war. It has been centuries since the fall of the ten consecrated orders known as the Knights Radiant, but their Shardblades and Shardplate remain. Men trade kingdoms for Shardblades. Wars were fought for them, and won by them, but in the war against the Parshendi, the ancient weapons and armor may not be enough. Speak again the ancient oaths: Life before death. Strength before weakness. Journey before Destination. and return to men the Shards they once bore. The Knights Radiant must stand again. --- Other Tor books by Brandon Sanderson The Cosmere The Stormlight Archive The Way of Kings Words of Radiance Edgedancer (Novella) Oathbringer Dawnshard (Novella) Rhythm of War Mistborn: The Original Trilogy Mistborn The Well of Ascension The Hero of Ages Mistborn: The Wax and Wayne series Alloy of Law Shadows of Self Bands of Mourning The Lost Metal Collection Arcanum Unbounded Other Cosmere novels Elantris Warbreaker Tress and the Emerald Sea (forthcoming) Yumi and the Nightmare Painter (forthcoming) The Sunlit Man (forthcoming) The Alcatraz vs. the Evil Librarians series Alcatraz vs. the Evil Librarians The Scrivener's Bones The Knights of Crystallia The Shattered Lens The Dark Talent Bastille vs. the Evil Librarians (co-authored with Janci Patterson) The Rithmatist series The Rithmatist Other novels Legion: The Many Lives of Stephen Leeds The Frugal Wizard’s Handbook for Surviving Medieval England (forthcoming) Other books by Brandon Sanderson The Reckoners Steelheart Firefight Calamity Skyward Skyward Starsight Cytonic At the Publisher's request, this title is being sold without Digital Rights Management Software (DRM) applied.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Donovan DeChance is a collector of ancient manuscripts and books, a practicing mage, and a private investigator. This Omnibus Collection includes books I, II, III, and IV of the series. Included are Heart of a Dragon, Vintage Soul, My Soul to Keep (The Origin story of Donovan DeChance) and Kali's Tale - book IV of the series. Also included are the bonus novellas "The Not Quite Right Reverend Cletus J. Diggs & The Currently Accepted Habits of Nature," and "The Preacher's Marsh," both of which provide background on settings and characters that appear in Kali's Tale. If you enjoy this book, you should read Nevermore, A Novel of Love, Loss & Edgar Allan Poe, which follows on Kali's Tale, has a cameo from Donovan DeChance, and leads into Book V - A Midnight Dreary, currently in progress. Heart of a Dragon: When a local houngan begins meddling with powers she may not be able to control, a turf war breaks out between the Dragons motorcycle club and the Los Escorpiones street gang—a war that threatens to open portals between worlds and destroy the city in the process. With his lover, Amethyst, his familiar, Cleo – an Egyptian Mau the size of a small bobcat –the dubious aid of a Mexican sorcerer named Martinez and the budding gifts of a young artist named Salvatore, DeChance begins a race against time, magic, and almost certain death. Vintage Soul: When, despite the finest in natural and supernatural security, a sexy and well-loved, three hundred year old lady vampire is kidnapped right out from under her lover's nose, Donovan is called in to investigate. There will be no ransom for the kidnap victim, and if Donovan doesn't prevent an ancient, forbidden ritual from reaching its culmination, far more than a single vampire's undead existence will be at stake. My Soul to Keep: Donovan DeChance is a very private man, and he is in love. When he invites his partner and lover, Amethyst, for a quiet dinner, she has no idea of his true intention. Donovan has planned a sharing - a vision that will give her the keys to his early life - the origins of his power - and a lot more than she bargained for. Join young Donovan as he fights to keep his soul, save a town, and learn the roots of his teacher and guardian - and meet his familiar, Cleo. Kali's Tale: When Donovan is asked to follow in secret as a hot-headed group of young vampires set out on a 'blood quest' to kill the ancient who created the young vampire Kali against her will, he learns that - as usual - there is a lot more to the story than meets the eye. Through the juke joints of Beale Street in Memphis, to the depths of The Great Dismal Swamp, Donovan and his lover and partner, Amethyst, find themselves drawn along on one of the strangest quests in their long, enigmatic lives as they delve into the world of the undead, the magic of The Blues, and the very heart of alchemy both to protect their young, vampiric charges - and to prevent an ancient evil from destroying the balance of power in the universe. This novel directly crosses over to the original series O.C.L.T. - where Donovan is a sometimes consultant. It features appearances by Geoffrey Bullfinch and Rebecca York, O.C.L.T. agents, as well as Old Mill, North Carolina's own Cletus J. Diggs.

Book excerpt: In this vividly illustrated narrative, author Sabra Moore chronicles twenty-two years of her life and interactions with other women artists finding ways to create politically and personally meaningful artworks, exhibitions, protests, and institutions in response to war, government corruption, struggles for reproductive freedom, and racial tension--all while fighting for greater representation and opportunities for women in the art world. Gracefully mixing bold historical accounts, poignant personal narratives, and nuanced introspection about writing, identity, family, and dreams, Moore illuminates a breadth of women's struggles and triumphs. She writes of her volunteer work in New York City's first legal abortion clinic, her own nearly fatal incomplete abortion in Guinea, and the abuse she experienced in a relationship with her former art teacher. She narrates her work organizing protests against the Museum of Modern Art, creating politically charged exhibitions with her peers in New York and beyond, and publishing a collaborative feminist art journal with the Heresies Collective. The book is printed in full color and illustrated throughout with 950 images of the art, artmaking, posters, news media, and photographic images of these activist women artists. Sabra Moore is an artist, writer, and activist. After moving to New York in 1966, she became a leading creative force within the feminist art movement. Moore's artistic and political involvement was showcased in the feature length film The Heretics (2011). Her newest works are showing May-August 2016 in an exhibition at the New Mexico State Capital Rotunda in Sante Fe, and her most recent solo museum show, Out of the Woods, was at the Harwood Museum in Taos in 2007. She authored and illustrated the trade book Petroglyphs: Ancient Language/ Sacred Art (1997), and her artist's books can be found in several museum collections, including the Brooklyn Museum and the Museum of Modern Art in New York City.
