Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst. But I said unto you, That ye also have seen me, and believe not. All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out. For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me. And this is the Father's will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day. And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.John 6:35-40The Kingdom of the Saints in Light is comprised of those who know His Truth and Do it. Apart from Him, we can do nothing, and it is only by His Words that we see life. There is none good but the Father. Only that which is Spirit gives life. It is as we show love, through faith, that the will world change. And, it is only His definition of what love is, as demonstrated on the cross that is right.Jesus told a parable of two sons. Both were told to work, and one said yes, and the other said no. Both changed their minds, and did the opposite. Which one did the will of their father? The one that worked in Truth. Now is the day to be about the Father's business. When we believe, we will work, and those that do not are those who do not believe. The one leads to the other, and in this, we bring glory to the Father by bearing much fruit! Then said I, Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of me,) to do thy will, O God. We long to see the days of the Son of Man, but it is only as we Do Truth that the Kingdom is manifest.

Book excerpt: Then they will deliver you to tribulation, and will kill you, and you will be hated by all nations because of My name. At that time many will fall away and will betray one another and hate one another. Many false prophets will arise and will mislead many. Because lawlessness is increased, most people's love will grow cold. But the one who endures to the end, he will be saved. This gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all the nations, and then the end will come.Matthew 24:9-14There is coming a day, burning hot like an oven, that will not relent. It will divide and separate the wheat from the chaff, and provoke Israel to jealosy. In that day, one will say to the other, let us return unto the Lord, for perhaps He may still have pity upon us. To all who would hear, it is time that judgement begin at the House of the Lord, and to declere, the Kingdom of God is at hand.

Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent. John 6:28-29Sometimes, the most natural seeming things are the most Spiritual, for of a truth, there is nothing done in the natural that does not affect the spirit of a man and everything else all around. As a single decision in Paradise caused the fall, so every thought, every act, and every work, whether of the Spirit of God or of the flesh, touches Eternity, because man was Created by Spirit, and the flesh shall pass away. Whatsoever we do unto the least of these, we do unto Him.If we walk by His Spirit, we will not be gratifying the desires of the flesh. For, as we sow to the Spirit, we reap life, but if to the flesh, we will die. This is the Word we have heard from the beginning, that God is light, and in Him is no darkness at all. He is the light, and apart from Him, we can do nothing. As His Word is in our heart, and we choose His Spirit in preference to our own life, a new things comes forth. The true man, Jesus Christ, shines through, and His life is made manifest in our own. What we will become has not yet been made known, but when we see Him, we shall be like Him, for this is the promise of all that follow after Him. Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, but it has been revealed by His Spirit.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.John 17:3Ever wonder what makes the difference between having church and having church? I mean, those glory times, where everything seems fresh, clean, and like God's presence is there as something special, unique, and real? What is it about the special and unique touch of the Spirit that makes every time life-changing?This is life, to know Him and to make Him known. There is no other purpose, there is no other destiny, and there is no other calling. Giftings may come or go, but only through Jesus do we come to know the Father (John 14:6).A man asked Jesus what it took to be perfect. Jesus responded, do the commandments. The man replied that he had, and Jesus said he lacked one thing, that he was to sell all, give to the poor, and follow Him. You see, you can't get anywhere without His heart, you have no life in you if you do not have His, His name, His Character, His Will, His desire. It is in giving everything, absolutely everything, that we receive Him, for we must live as He lived, and walk as He walked. In doing this, we show that we are His disciples, and we will abide in His love.It wasn't for a show, and it wasn't for an institution that Jesus died, but He came and lived as a man for men, that we, men and women, might know His true love, be set free from the deceptions of this age, and come to know true life, Eternal life, Himself. For, there is life in no other, nor is there salvation in any other name than Jesus Christ. Whoever believes on Him shall be saved, and all others shall be damned, even as the scriptures say, in Mark 16:16.For to one, He says come, and he comes, and to another do this, and he does it. The greatest key to life could be summed up in one of Jesus' statements, saying that all of the Father's commands lead to life. Even the command to the cross, though it went through death, lead to life, and we live today because of it. Hallelujah! Praise the Lord!

Book excerpt: Described by Pope Pius XII as the most important theologian since Thomas Aquinas, the Swiss pastor and theologian, Karl Barth, continues to be a major influence on students, scholars and preachers today. Barth's theology found its expression mainly through his closely reasoned fourteen-part magnum opus, Die Kirchliche Dogmatik. Having taken over 30 years to write, the Church Dogmatics is regarded as one of the most important theological works of all time, and represents the pinnacle of Barth's achievement as a theologian. T&T Clark International is now proud to be publishing the only complete English translation of the Church Dogmatics in paperback.

Book excerpt: Experiencing the Truth communicates the need of a vibrant, experiential, Reformed Christianity among African-Americans and all believers. How does a believer choose a church to attend? Sadly too many Christians search for churches that serve them and meet their perceived needs. Instead they should prefer places where God is exalted and biblical truth and Christian doctrine are proclaimed. Such churches are essential if Christians are to understand what God is doing and what he calls His people to be. Experiencing the Truth presents these truths not simply to African-American churches, but also to the whole church today. Anthony Carter, Michael Leach, and Ken Jones clearly present the need for a vibrant, experiential, Reformed Christianity among African-Americans. These authors lay out the biblical basis for choosing and attending a church, and they demonstrate how the historic Reformed expression has been the most biblically accurate and experientially consistent expression of Christianity.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Roger Shuff holds that the influence of the Brethren movement on wider evangelical life in England in the twentieth century is often underrated. This book records and accounts for the fact that Brethren reached the peak of their strength at the time when evangelicalism was at its lowest ebb, immediately before World War II. However, the movement then moved into persistent decline as evangelicalism regained ground in the postwar period. Accompanying this downward trend has been a sharp accentuation of the contrast between Brethren congregations who engage constructively with the non-Brethren scene and, at the other end of the spectrum, the isolationist group commonly referred to as Exclusive Brethren. Besides being the first scholarly study of Brethrenism in England for nearly forty years, the book will find a wider audience among present and former adherents of the Brethren movement in its various guises. It also offers useful insights for Christian leaders and other professionals who find themselves with pastoral care for people upon whom their encounter with the Brethren has had a profound psychological impact.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: As Jacob lay sleeping with his head on a rock pillow, he dreamed of a ladder reaching to heaven with angels ascending and descending. The dream provided Jacob with a glimpse of the redeeming work of Jesus and His desire to connect heaven and earth and save us from our sins. Beyond Jacob's Ladder: The Simplicity of Salvation by Lois Carscallen will help you realize just how simple salvation can be by examining different "ladders" throughout the Bible that help us, as Christians, to connect with heaven on our spiritual journey. Jacob's ladder will teach you to trust God's promises and start a relationship with Him. Peter's ladder highlights the gifts from God. God's ladder emphasizes the importance of the Ten Commandments. Jesus' ladder discusses the hardships God's people may endure. Paul's ladder talks about embodying the fruit of the Spirit. God's Creation ladder examines the beginning of humanity. John and Moses' ladder provide understanding about the sanctuary message. Interwoven are key quotes from Ellen White that illuminate Carscallen's points and provide a deeper understanding of what each step on the ladder means. Just as God spoke to Jacob in a dream, He speaks to us by words written in the Bible. Using the Bible as Beyond Jacob's Ladder's backbone, Carscallen will help you find security and comfort when holding on to the true Ladder that connects us to heaven--Christ. Endorsement "As I read Beyond Jacob's Ladder, I was impressed by Lois' unique ability to weave her personal life experiences with meaningful quotations and precious Bible texts into a faith-affirming tapestry so easy to understand." For the first time, doctrines were organized into a single creed. The Nicene and Post-Nicene Fathers did most of their writing during and after this important event in Church history. Unlike the previous era of Christian writing, the Nicene and Post-Nicene era is dominated by a few very important and prolific writers. In Volume IV of the 14-volume collected writings of the Nicenes and Post-Nicenes (first published between 1886 and 1889), readers will find Augustines writings defending the Catholic church against the Manichaeans and the Donatists. Manichaeanism was a religion developed in Persia by the prophet Mani. According to this religion, creation has two parts: darkness and light. Light is God and has ten attributes. Opposing this, and coeternal with it, is darkness and its five attributes. Saint Augustine was originally a Manichaean, so his defense of Christianity against this religion comes from a deep understanding of its nature. Donatists were a group of believers who refused to forgive those who had renounced their faith during a time of persecution, which caused a schism in Christianity. In opposing these men, Augustine attempted to mend the rift. Those with an interest in ancient religions will find Augustines writings on Manichaeanism one of the most important historical records of that religions practices."

Book excerpt: In a Tiantai theology, conventional truth is conventionally arisen, which means that such truth is never set once and for all, but is to be cherished and rethought in new circumstances, whether interreligious or scientific—but always in critical consonance with its ancient embodiments. Contexts shift frameworks, but life in Christ is translatable across cultures. Christian faith and theology discourage the assumption that the point of it can be clearly pinned down. God’s appearance to Elijah out of the whirlwind is an eternal reminder of the paltriness of all human perspectives. Symbolic worlds of faith and wisdom are not themselves finished products. Because it has a past and a future, the cosmos itself is unfinished. Christian creeds ought not be defended as last-word ideological positions and bastions against relativity, but instead recognized in their cultural contexts and affirmed as grammars of communal and personal assent.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Questions. We all have them, rattling around in the back of our minds. How did the country get to be like this? We have a government that’s repeatedly paralyzed by a Congress and president constantly at odds. We have a monster bureaucracy churning out an avalanche of new medical regulations. We have a shooting war that’s been going on since 9/11— a war in which our terrorist enemies have struck at nations around the globe, and might eventually acquire nuclear weapons. And then there’s the other war. In nearly every state, battles are being fought over issues which are central to the very fabric of life. Our society’s basic building blocks— marriage, family, the concept of morality itself— have been turned into political footballs. This is a kind of war which has no end. More questions. How can all this be happening? We thought that two World Wars and a four-decade Cold War had settled everything. What is it, that’s turning this world into a lunatic asylum? Is there any way to make sense out of it all? This book isn’t about questions. The symbol on the front cover says just the opposite: It’s about answers. And that includes answers to the biggest question of all. This book is about the war that never ends.
