Book excerpt: The 5 Elements of the Highly Effective Debt Collector is the first How to collect a debt book of its kind, in that it breaks the debt collecting process down into five core fundamental areas. After years of training in the collection industry, I have found that these five fundamental areas are at the center of revealing the mystery behind why only a small percentage of debt collectors produce at a high level and more importantly explains why the larger percentage of low to mediocre performers never reach a top producing level. Not only does this book establish fundamental concepts every debt collector must understand to maximize personal or agencys earning potential, it also teaches: sound principles of engagement, valuable communication concepts, effective sales rebuttal techniques, as well as a system of file management that if followed and executed properly will more than double a collectors efficiency and effectiveness in less than 30 days The 5 Elements principles and concepts were designs to ensure that no matter an individuals talent level, years in the industry, or position held within an agency, the end user will understand clearly and be enriched by the experience.

Book Synopsis Advances in the Protection of Museum Collections from Earthquake Damage by : Jerry Podany
Download or read book Advances in the Protection of Museum Collections from Earthquake Damage written by Jerry Podany and published by Getty Publications. This book was released on 2008 with total page 220 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: For nearly three decades, the J. Paul Getty Museum has played a leading role in the development of seismic mitigation for museum collections. Contributors to this volume--ranging from museum conservators, mount makers, and historical archaeologists to seismologists and structural engineers--discuss and illustrate a wide variety of earthquake-mitigation efforts for collections, from the simple and inexpensive to the complex and costly. The book's essays examine the techniques applied to large collections and to small house museums, to exhibition cases containing objects as well as to monumental works of art and historical structures. Approaches range from securing and restraining objects to decoupling them from the ground through a variety of base-isolation mechanisms. These pioneering efforts have been developed in the face of significant challenges since, as any engineer, conservator, or mount maker who has undertaken this work can attest, a small sculpture can often be a far greater challenge to protect than a multistory building.

Book Synopsis Biogenesis Evolution Homeostasis by : Alfred Locker
Download or read book Biogenesis Evolution Homeostasis written by Alfred Locker and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 184 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In 1963, 1965 and 1967 "Symposia on Quantitative Biology of Metabolism" were organized on the pretty island of Helgoland (Biologische Anstalt) by me in col laboration with O. KINNE and F. KROGER. Unfortunately this worthy approach towards bringing together interested scholars in a regular way ceased, mainly for financial reasons, although the need for and interest in conferences like these for the exchange of ideas on special topics unchangeably persists. So I had to look for other possibilities and one of them was to try to arrange a similar con ference under the auspices of NASA. This institution, however, eventually re-. treated, although during my discussion with its representatives a new special theme gained shape. This is the topic to which this volume is devoted: Bio genesis. It is also treated in a new way that probably could be a model for. similar undertakings: a symposium by correspondence. In this new approach to scientific information exchange, manuscripts were collected by the editor and sent to every contributor for his comments. The author could then reply by means of a concluding remark. So, in many instances very valuable ideas concerning the topics of the several papers could be gathered and it is to be hoped that this procedure has conferred upon this volume a certain uniqueness. Of course, I had to observe the agreement with Springer-Verlag not to exceed the extent of the volume allotted to us.

Download or read book Telephone Collection Call Scripts and How to Respond to Excuses written by Michelle Dunn and published by Createspace Independent Publishing Platform. This book was released on 2013-02 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: As someone who has made thousands upon thousands of debt collection calls as a credit manager and first party collector and as an agency owner and third party collector, I wanted to share what I know about making these calls so that you can improve on your calls. To take the fear out of it, just remember that making a collection call is like making a customer service call. You are calling about a problem with the account and you just want to resolve it. You will learn what common excuses people give and what you can say to them in order to keep the call moving in the right direction and not going off track. You will learn how to notice a red flag with an account that you are calling and be able to avoid disaster by taking specific steps based on your knowledge of what is happening with that particular account. This book will help anyone who owns a business and needs to call customers that are past due. It will help accounts receivable clerks who make calls to delinquent accounts; it will help credit managers who make collection calls or "your account is on credit hold" calls. This book will also help collectors who work for a third party collection agency. This book is meant to be a guide for bill collectors. I have shared with you actual and specific steps I have taken in my years of doing collection work that have worked well for me. I have found that when making collection calls and dealing with excuses, you must be firm, tread lightly, have compassion and treat the account carefully. Treat the account (not the customer) like a child who needs your guidance and help to get this paid. This has worked very well for me and I have successfully collected more money than other collectors based on following these steps.

Book Synopsis Java Concurrency in Practice by : Tim Peierls
Download or read book Java Concurrency in Practice written by Tim Peierls and published by Pearson Education. This book was released on 2006-05-09 with total page 428 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Threads are a fundamental part of the Java platform. As multicore processors become the norm, using concurrency effectively becomes essential for building high-performance applications. Java SE 5 and 6 are a huge step forward for the development of concurrent applications, with improvements to the Java Virtual Machine to support high-performance, highly scalable concurrent classes and a rich set of new concurrency building blocks. In Java Concurrency in Practice, the creators of these new facilities explain not only how they work and how to use them, but also the motivation and design patterns behind them. However, developing, testing, and debugging multithreaded programs can still be very difficult; it is all too easy to create concurrent programs that appear to work, but fail when it matters most: in production, under heavy load. Java Concurrency in Practice arms readers with both the theoretical underpinnings and concrete techniques for building reliable, scalable, maintainable concurrent applications. Rather than simply offering an inventory of concurrency APIs and mechanisms, it provides design rules, patterns, and mental models that make it easier to build concurrent programs that are both correct and performant. This book covers: Basic concepts of concurrency and thread safety Techniques for building and composing thread-safe classes Using the concurrency building blocks in java.util.concurrent Performance optimization dos and don'ts Testing concurrent programs Advanced topics such as atomic variables, nonblocking algorithms, and the Java Memory Model
