Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: “Entrepreneurship that is something you learn in practice”. “Entreprene- ship is learning by doing”. This is often heard when you tell others that you teach entrepreneurship, but maybe entrepreneurship is more “doing by learning”. Nevertheless, in entrepreneurship practice and theory are int- woven. For this reason the Learning Cycle introduced by Kolb (1984) is an often used teaching approach. According to this Learning Cycle there are four phases (“cycle”) that are connected: 1. Concrete experience (“doing”, “experiencing”) 2. Reflection (“reflecting on the experience”) 3. Conceptualization (“learning from the experience”) 4. Experimentation (“bring what you learned into practice”) In teaching you can enter this cycle at any stage, depending on the students. And that brings us to the different types of students. Based on Hills et al. (1998) a plethora of student groups can be distinguished (of course this list is not exhaustive), e.g: Ph.D. students, who do a doctoral programme in Entrepreneurship; the emphasis is on theory/science. DBA students, who do a doctoral programme that is, in comparison to the Ph.D. more practice oriented. MBA students, who take entrepreneurship as one of the courses in their programme. Most of the time MBA students are mature students, who after some work experience return to the university; the programme is practice oriented.

Book excerpt: This vintage book contains a comprehensive guide go teaching athletics written by F. A. M. Webster. Originally intended for athletics coaches and teachers, it offers information on the manner and sequence in which every sporting event should be taught to students, together with the common problems a coach should watch out for and much more. Written in simple language and profusely illustrated, "Teaching and Training Athletics" will be of considerable utility to P.E. teachers and those wishing to learn the basics of athletics. Contents include: "General Principles of Instruction", "Pole Vault", "High Jump", "Long Jump", "Hop, Step, and Jump", "Starting", "Sprinting", "Distance Running", "High Hurdles", "Low Hurdles", "Intermediate Hurdles", "Javelin Throwing", "Discus Throwing", "Hammer Throwing", etc. Frederick Annesley Michael Webster (1886 - 1949) was a British athletics coach and author, and soldier active during World War One. He wrote profusely on the subject of athletics, with his best known book being "Athletics in Action" (1931). Many vintage books such as this are becoming increasingly scarce and expensive. We are republishing this volume now in a modern, high-quality edition complete with a specially-commissioned new introduction on athletics.

Drawing on extensive teaching experience, the author presents a personal account of good practice, written in an engaging and accessible style and based on extensive scholarly sources. Part I 'Learning' and Part II 'Teaching' complement one another, and the book as a whole offers an insight into how to teach in any set of circumstances. It does so without being prescriptive, instead helping teachers to think through their own problems and situations. As a result When Teaching Becomes Learning is a book to which teachers will return on countless occasions. This edition has been updated throughout and now has 2 new chapters - Reflections of Educational Technology, and Why Teach? Chapters are now also divided up so they are each shorter and more user-friendly than before.
