Book Synopsis Developing an Index of Quality for Australian Tea by :
Download or read book Developing an Index of Quality for Australian Tea written by and published by . This book was released on 2004 with total page 192 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The production line and relevant technology for the processing of black tea in Australia have been modified from those currently employed in other tea producing countries. Thus, it is necessary to understand the changes in chemical composition occurring during the growing and processing of Australian tea, if quality improvements in tea are to be achieved. However, no published data are available relating the chemical composition, including phenolic compounds, to the growing and processing of Australian tea. Therefore, an investigation into the types and contents of flavonoids and other polyphenols in Australian grown tea at various growing seasons and made tea during different processing steps was carried out to provide the Australian tea industry with information to assist with maximising the quality of its black tea. Areas where quality could be improved were also identified.
Download or read book Tea with Arwa written by Arwa El Masri and published by Hachette Australia. This book was released on 2011-09-27 with total page 368 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Arwa El Masri is a child of many countries. She was born in Saudi Arabia, lived in America for a time, and yet, as the daughter of Palestinian migrants, Arwa did not have a country that she could call home. Her parents came to Australia to give all their daughters the greatest gift they could, somewhere they could belong. It took a teenage Arwa time to find her way in her new country and to reconcile her Muslim faith with her life as a young woman in western Sydney. But slowly Australia got under her skin . . . and into her heart. She lost her accent and stopped being startled when kookaburras laughed. She met her future husband, Hazem El Masri, in the most unlikely way. But he was not who she thought she should marry. Getting to know him made Arwa look at her own prejudice, reassess what was important to her and how she wanted to live her life. Her grandmother?s wisdom helped guide her. When she was twenty-three and newly married, this Aussie girl who loved John Farnham and Vegemite decided it was time for her to wear the veil. The first time she went out in public with it on she was shocked. Many assumed she did not speak English or that her husband had told her what to wear. Both were incorrect. Through telling her story, Arwa shows the importance of belonging for everyone and how alike we all are. Regardless of faith, we are all looking for the same things: safety, love, and a sense of home . . .

Book Synopsis The Development of Modern Industries in Bengal by : Indrajit Ray
Download or read book The Development of Modern Industries in Bengal written by Indrajit Ray and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2018-05-25 with total page 276 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Bengal’s traditional industries, once celebrated worldwide, largely decayed under the backwash effects of the British Industrial Revolution in the first half of the nineteenth century. Although colonial ambivalence is often cited as an explanation, this study also shows that a series of new industries emerged during this period. The book reappraises the thesis of India’s deindustrialisation and discusses the development status of the traditional industries in the early nineteenth century, examines their technology, employment opportunities and marketing and, finally, analyses the underlying reasons for their decay. It offers a study of how traditional industries evolved into modern enterprises in a British colony, and contributes to the broader discussion on the global history of industrialisation. This book will be of interest to scholars of Indian economic history as well as those who seek to understand the widespread effects of industrialisation, especially in a colonial context.
