Download or read book Target or Weapon written by EBENEZER GYASI and published by AuthorHouse. This book was released on 2004-08-05 with total page 128 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: When we look around us, we find so much suffering in the world that we cant help but ask why? Long time ago God in Hosea 4:6 lamented that his people were being destroyed for the lack of knowledge. His people are still being destroyed today. The question again is Why? As Christians, Jesus has given us the authority over all the powers of the thief, murderer, destroyer, and our real enemy Satan also known as the devil. Somehow, we seem to have forgotten our spiritual heritage, our spiritual rights and responsibilities, and therefore the devil has taken undue advantage of our ignorance. This prayer book along with the companion end-time spiritual warfare book, Target or Weapon-Sound The Alarm provide instructions on how to stand on the Word of God, to help you vanquish the controlling spirits in your life. Let these prayers be part of your daily spiritual exercise. Standing on the Word of God causes a shaking in the spiritual realm on your behalf, because God backs His Word and watches to perform it.
Book Synopsis Nonlinear Assignment Problems by : Panos M. Pardalos
Download or read book Nonlinear Assignment Problems written by Panos M. Pardalos and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2013-03-09 with total page 317 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Nonlinear Assignment Problems (NAPs) are natural extensions of the classic Linear Assignment Problem, and despite the efforts of many researchers over the past three decades, they still remain some of the hardest combinatorial optimization problems to solve exactly. The purpose of this book is to provide in a single volume, major algorithmic aspects and applications of NAPs as contributed by leading international experts. The chapters included in this book are concerned with major applications and the latest algorithmic solution approaches for NAPs. Approximation algorithms, polyhedral methods, semidefinite programming approaches and heuristic procedures for NAPs are included, while applications of this problem class in the areas of multiple-target tracking in the context of military surveillance systems, of experimental high energy physics, and of parallel processing are presented. Audience: Researchers and graduate students in the areas of combinatorial optimization, mathematical programming, operations research, physics, and computer science.

Book excerpt: During the Second World War, the Allies listened intently to the messages of the enemy. Every whisper built a picture of the threat to come, and the weapons used were terrifying in their murderous capabilities. 'Target London' recalls the inception of the German V-weapons and the Allies' race to discover the truth about them.

This book was released on 2005-10-06 with total page 146 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Underground facilities are used extensively by many nations to conceal and protect strategic military functions and weapons' stockpiles. Because of their depth and hardened status, however, many of these strategic hard and deeply buried targets could only be put at risk by conventional or nuclear earth penetrating weapons (EPW). Recently, an engineering feasibility study, the robust nuclear earth penetrator program, was started by DOE and DOD to determine if a more effective EPW could be designed using major components of existing nuclear weapons. This activity has created some controversy about, among other things, the level of collateral damage that would ensue if such a weapon were used. To help clarify this issue, the Congress, in P.L. 107-314, directed the Secretary of Defense to request from the NRC a study of the anticipated health and environmental effects of nuclear earth-penetrators and other weapons and the effect of both conventional and nuclear weapons against the storage of biological and chemical weapons. This report provides the results of those analyses. Based on detailed numerical calculations, the report presents a series of findings comparing the effectiveness and expected collateral damage of nuclear EPW and surface nuclear weapons under a variety of conditions.

Book Synopsis Approximation and Complexity in Numerical Optimization by : Panos M. Pardalos
Download or read book Approximation and Complexity in Numerical Optimization written by Panos M. Pardalos and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2000-05-31 with total page 608 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: There has been much recent progress in approximation algorithms for nonconvex continuous and discrete problems from both a theoretical and a practical perspective. In discrete (or combinatorial) optimization many approaches have been developed recently that link the discrete universe to the continuous universe through geomet ric, analytic, and algebraic techniques. Such techniques include global optimization formulations, semidefinite programming, and spectral theory. As a result new ap proximate algorithms have been discovered and many new computational approaches have been developed. Similarly, for many continuous nonconvex optimization prob lems, new approximate algorithms have been developed based on semidefinite pro gramming and new randomization techniques. On the other hand, computational complexity, originating from the interactions between computer science and numeri cal optimization, is one of the major theories that have revolutionized the approach to solving optimization problems and to analyzing their intrinsic difficulty. The main focus of complexity is the study of whether existing algorithms are efficient for the solution of problems, and which problems are likely to be tractable. The quest for developing efficient algorithms leads also to elegant general approaches for solving optimization problems, and reveals surprising connections among problems and their solutions. A conference on Approximation and Complexity in Numerical Optimization: Con tinuous and Discrete Problems was held during February 28 to March 2, 1999 at the Center for Applied Optimization of the University of Florida.

Book Synopsis by United States. Introduction to sonar by : United States. Bureau of Naval Personnel
Download or read book by United States. Introduction to sonar written by United States. Bureau of Naval Personnel and published by Lulu.com. This book was released on 2018-09-29 with total page 193 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: SONAR (sound navigation and ranging) systems have many similarities to RADAR and electro-optical systems. Again, detection is based on the propagation of waves between the target and detector. There are active sonar systems, where the wave propagates from the transmitter to the target and back to the receiver, analogous to pulse-echo radar. There are also passive sonar systems, where the target is the source of the energy which propagates to the receiver, analogous to passive infrared detection. Therefore, a great deal of what has been discussed about these systems will also apply to sonar. Sonar, however, differs fundamentally from radar and electro-optics because the energy is transferred by acoustics waves propagating in water. So we first begin by discussing the characteristics of acoustic waves.
