Just look around at where we are today! If you were able to go into a future devoid of God's standards, would you know enough about His standards to help others re-calibrate? The Bible is to us what an owner's manual is to a car. If you want to know more about your life and what you can do for our posterity, read it and try to live it to the best of your ability. Make a difference in your own circle of influence.
