Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: All of us want to remain happy, immortal and live a disease-free life. But we waste our most precious human life searching for happiness in the wrong place. When the scriptures say that this material world is temporary and full of miseries, why are we wasting our time searching for happiness in the wrong place? Easy Journey to Goloka deals not only with the most authorized process of how one should lead his life and also how one should leave the life from this material world. This book provides information on how to remain happy forever and be immortal. The author has chosen a unique way of explaining an allegorical story of Srivatsav, the hero of the book, through the process of self-realization in three stages, i.e., Surfing, Snorkelling and Scuba diving. He has attempted to convey the process of how a sinful and fallen person can go back to the spiritual world by taking shelter of a bonafide spiritual master. The author invites the reader of this book to embark on the exciting journey with Srivatsav and experience the real art of dying and becoming immortal. As part of his Easy Journey to Goloka, the reader can also witness the miracles of the spiritual world.

Book excerpt: The Agni and the Ecstasy compiles essays that the renowned scholar of Vaishnavism, Steven J. Rosen, has published throughout his 25-year writing career. Ranging from commentary on transcendental philosophy and scriptures such as the Bhagavad Gita, to personal reminiscences of prominent spiritual figures and devotional music, there is virtually no topic on which he does not shed illumination. This book is an excellent introduction to Rosen's work, whether one is a newcomer or a long-time reader. " T]here is something in this book for everybody. If one leans toward academia and intellectual approaches to spirituality, one will appreciate the articles included here that are informative, well-researched, and conveyed with an authoritative tone. On the other hand, if the reader prefers essays that entertain and arouse emotions - that speak to one's internal spiritual quest and a personal search for answers - then there are also pieces that address those particular needs." --from the Introduction by Steven J. Rosen "Having imbibed the compassionate spirit of Srila Prabhupada, his beloved guru, and having dedicated his life to uplifting humanity through transcendental knowledge, Satyaraja is specially empowered to reach our hearts. We can rejoice upon the release of this volume of his collected articles." --from the Foreword by His Holiness Radhanath Swami Steven J. Rosen (Satyaraja Dasa) is an initiated disciple of His Divine Grace A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada. He is also founding editor of the Journal of Vaishnava Studies and associate editor for Back to Godhead. He has published more than thirty books in numerous languages, including the recent Krishna's Other Song: A New Look at the Uddhava Gita (Praeger, 2010); The Jedi in the Lotus: Star Wars and the Hindu Tradition (Arktos, 2010) and Christ and Krishna: Where the Jordan Meets the Ganges (FOLK Books, 2011).

Besides the basics of Hinduism, there are also sections on Vedic astrology, gemology and Vastu Sastra. Many of the important Hindu gods are described and there are some beautiful line drawings of many of the gods. Such important questions are answered such as: What is the meaning of OM and who are Krishna, Vishnu, Hanuman and Brahma? Some subjects described are yoga, temple worship, Indian festivals, karma, temple design, Buddhism, important temples, Vedic marriages, Siva-lingas, cows, important holy places, and how to act properly in a temple. At the end of the book is a glossary where many of the words used in Hinduism are defined. The astrological and gemology section are written in an easy to understand way, so it will be very useful to the beginner. In many cases when one goes to an astrologer various terms are often used and often a beginner may have no idea what the astrologer is talking about. Therefore many of the terms are described in easy to understand English. In the gemological section there are descriptions of the astrological uses of the gems, how they benefit a person, who should wear each particular gem, and what is a good or bad gem. There are also some useful terms described in reference to gemology. Vastu Sastra is the Vedic or Indian science of building. By building a house under the rules of Vastu Sastra it can influence the fortunes of the residents. This book gives some ideas how one should build a house in a way that will have a positive influence on the people living in it. It also describes how the things should be placed in the inside of the house. There is also a description of what decisions should be made before a house should be purchased.
