Book excerpt: An illumination of the difference between "belief alone or water baptism" and "spiritual baptism". The author asks the reader "have you been born again? Have you received the Holy Spirit? How do you know you have been spiritually reborn? Can the spiritual rebirth of Christians today be authenticated by the bible. Are Christians today being "born again" as those believers in the new testament; or are today's Christians following a counterfeit pagan gospel introduced by the Roman emperor Constantine? The author shows how spiritual rebirth can be observed and authenticated just as the birth of a human baby is manifested and observed the a hospital paternity room. The author asks the reader have you received the "biblical" infilling of the Holy Spirit or merely a counterfeit pagan version of spiritual rebirth introduced by Constantine? The difference is a matter of spiritual life and spiritual death. No man shall enter the kingdom of heaven that is not born again. To be born again means to receive infilling of the Holy Spirit. Receipt of the Holy Spirit is spiritual rebirth. Why do today's Christians not receive spiritual baptisms as those believers experienced in the new testament? Why do Christians not speak in tongues upon receipt of the Holy Spirit today as those disciples did in the upper room and throughout the new testament? It is shown that contemporary Christians are not following the same spiritual gospel taught by Jesus Christ and not receiving spiritual baptisms required to enter the kingdom of heaven. Can a believer enter the kingdom of heaven merely because he or she believes Jesus Christ is the son of God, pays tithes and attends church? This is a book for both congregation members and preachers. This book raises serious theological issues that must be resolved before death in the flesh to assure everlasting life in the kingdom of God. The author explains that believers must not only believe in Christ but receive the biblical infilling of the Holy Spirit evidenced by speaking in tongues. It is shown how Constantine's Roman Christianity "aborted" the Holy Spirit and discontinued Christ's spiritual gospel and receipt of the Holy Spirit. What exactly is the Holy Spirit and how do men know when they have been filled with the Holy Spirit is examined in detail.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Haunting Fetus focuses on the belief in modern Taiwan that an aborted fetus can return to haunt its family. Although the topic has been researched in Japan and commented on in the Taiwanese press, it has not been studied systematically in relation to Taiwan in either English or Chinese. This fascinating study looks at a range of topics pertaining to the belief in haunting fetuses, including abortion, sexuality, the changing nature of familial power structures, the economy, and traditional and modern views of the spirit world in Taiwan and in traditional Chinese thought. It addresses the mental, moral, and psychological aspects of abortion within the context of modernization processes and how these ramify through historical epistemologies and folk traditions. The author illustrates how images of fetus-ghosts are often used to manipulate women, either through fear or guilt, into paying exorbitant sums of money for appeasement. He argues at the same time, however, that although appeasement can be expensive, it provides important psychological comfort to women who have had abortions as well as a much-needed means to project personal and familial feelings of transgression onto a safely displaced object. In addition to bringing to the surface underlying tensions within a family, appeasing fetus-ghosts, like other dealings with supernatural beings in Chinese religions, allows for atonement through economic avenues. The paradox in which fetus-ghost appeasement simultaneously exploits and assists evinces the true complexity of the issue--and of religious and gender studies as a whole.

Unfortunately, both sides are guilty of ignoring the individual in favor of the higher moral ground. No more. This book is designed to help people heal from their abortions on an individual level, and to finally be able to put guilt, shame, fear, doubt and other negative feelings behind them forever. She should know--she felt guilt and shame over her own abortion for years. And she is not alone in that pain. Book excerpt: The subject of abortion is a deeply guarded secret. Abortion is something people rarely share with others. Abortion is guarded by silence and even shame. As you read through the lives of these dear women, please keep an open mind to the grief and sorrow that remained in the heart and life of those who went through such an act of abortion, and may God give you the courage to say no to abortion. An abortion is the removal or expulsion of the fetus or an embryo from the uterus before the twenty-eighth week of the pregnancy, resulting in its death. This can occur spontaneously as a “miscarriage” or be artificially induced by surgery or other means.

Book excerpt: Abortion continues to be a hot topic in politics, women’s rights, and medical practice. But for the eight to ten million American Christian women who have had one, abortion is a spiritual issue as well, raising questions of life and death, heaven and hell, grief and loss. Writing from her own experience, Kim Ketola sheds light on one of the darkest and most neglected personal issues of our time: the widespread need for healing and spiritual recovery after abortion. “After abortion brought the worst trouble into my life I had ever known,” writes Ketola, “I just couldn’t see my way free to believe in God’s love.” With a compassionate heart, Ketola offers ten true stories of healing promise from the Bible to help women answer the most common spiritual torments they face: Is abortion a sin? Does God hate me? Where can I turn in my shame and distress? How could I ever tell anyone the truth? And more. Inspired by Romans 6:4--“just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life"--this is a definitive resource to help women see themselves and God anew and--finally--to find spiritual healing.

Book excerpt: In this powerful memoir, a fiercely honest and surprisingly funny testament to healing after abortion, a young woman travels across the United States to meet a motley crew of spiritual teachers and a caravan of new friends. At age nineteen, Kassi Underwood discovered she was pregnant. Broke, unwed, struggling with alcohol, and living a thousand miles away from home, she checked into an abortion clinic. While her abortion sparked her “feminist awakening,” she also felt lost and lawless, drinking to oblivion and talking about her pregnancy with her parents, her friends, strangers-anyone. Three years later, just when she had settled into a sober life at her dream job, the ex-boyfriend with whom she had become pregnant had a baby with someone else. She shattered. In the depths of a blinding depression, Kassi refused to believe that she would “never get over” her abortion. Inspired by rebellious women in history who used spiritual practices to attain emotional freedom, Kassi embarked on a journey of recovery after abortion-a road trip with pit stops at a Buddhist “water baby” ritual, where she learns a new way to think about lost pregnancies; a Roman Catholic retreat for abortion that turns out to be staffed with clinic picketers; a crash course in grief from a Planned Parenthood counselor; a night in a motel with a “Midwife for the Soul” who teaches her how to take up space; and a Jewish “wild woman” celebration led by a wise and zany rabbi. Dazzling with warmth and leavened by humor, May Cause Love captures one woman’s journey of self-discovery that enraged her, changed her, and ultimately enlightened her.

"Will God forgive me for the abortion? Can I forgive myself?" are two of the questions the authors posed to clergy of many faiths. While beliefs about abortion varied, all the clergy interviewed believed in an all-merciful, all compassionate God. Fears of God's rejection or denial of forgiveness may be laid to rest by the pathways offered in this booklet to connect with an All-Loving God.

Book excerpt: Psycho-Spiritual Healing AFTER Abortion is a helpful book for those who, as people of faith, seek to counsel a woman who has had an abortion: for the psychologist who recognizes the importance of faith in the struggle to be whole, and for the clergyperson who recognizes that it is inadequate to expect that "God will do it all." It is a help for anyone concerned about the welfare of the woman who seeks healing after abortion.
